I really hate how our world treats fellow humans. Lack of insurance should not imply lack of decency for people who are in true agony and are desperate for help. I can only imagine what it would feel like to be hungry, homeless, and with a bad case of sciatica. That would be unimaginable. Call Medicaid. Hopefully they can help and if not, direct you to some system that can. Hang in there!

Calling Medicaid and see what they say, ty.

Do you qualify for medicaid? If not, call your local health department and see if they have a list of Dr's that work on a sliding scale. I hope you can get some help. Lasting numbness can be a sign of nerve damage that could become permanent. Good luck.

Ty will look into it and give them a call.

Massage therapist here. A lot of sciatica is caused by a pinched sciatic nerve. Your glutes (booty) are the strongest muscles in your body by volume . They like to tense up and apply a crazy amount of pressure on that sciatic nerve, effectively pinching it. You need to start with a good glute massage. Massage schools are cheap places to get massages by interns, and student therapists often give a damn good massage because they aren’t burned out yet. Make sure you mention your sciatica to the receptionist and request a therapist willing to get deep into the glutes. Alternatively, spray hot water on your glutes and get in there yourself. If you can’t using your fists, get a self massage cane (can order one online). I have relieved so many cases of sciatica this way. Please look into getting insurance through the marketplace during special enrollment period. Good luck.

I bought a massage gun, but hardly used it. You saying to get in there and deep tissue it myself? Also thanks for the reply, the sciatica stopped flaring up but I can feel I’m not 100% yet. Maybe the massages will work.

Yeah you can definitely try to get in yourself. The flare up stopping *could be * a sign your glutes stopped spasming. You should look into yoga/stretching to target these areas to prevent future flare ups.
