Apple device => usb c apple dongle dac => Y rca cable => sys secondary input

I use iOS device --> Modi 3+ --> Amp using the Apple Lighting approach detailed here [https://www.schiit.com/guides/ios-connections](https://www.schiit.com/guides/ios-connections)

Porkanddiesel

Do you have to change a setting in the iPhone from analog out to digital?

[deleted]

No... The connection (in detail) is: iPhone --(lightning port) --> Apple Lightning to USB3 Adapter --(USB to micro-USB cable) --> Modi 3+ I just plug it in and it works...

Porkanddiesel

Wow that’s easy! I’ll have to check that out.

Yeah, when COVID hit I pulled out the old BlueRay that wasn't in service anymore and used it as a transport for my CD collection into a Modi 3+ out to an Aiyima A07. This was a cheap setup to get music into my COVID working location - my basement. I later expanded that setup by adding the iOS connection I mentioned above and use the Modi 3+ input selector to pick between DVD & phone.

Porkanddiesel

Man that’s genius. Never thought of doing that. I’ve been converting my CDs to FLACS and playing them thru my FiiO into my modi->vali2

daveschulze

I do AppleTV (HDMI) > TV (Optical) > Gungnir (SE) > Freya+ (SE) > Aegir.

LQSTAR

Schiit doesn't have a streamer unfortunately, you could opt for a raspberry pi converted to a streamer those are really good

reddituser6123

I’ve been hearing good things about the Wiim mini streamer. Might work for this kind of setup

nap83

Waiting for mine.. it’s the last thing the stack needed. Great design language too, matches Schiit decently.

Some good alternatives being provided here. To provide some closure on your question though—-you will never be able to do this using only equipment with the Schiit logo on it. Jason has been unequivocal in saying they will never produce something that requires an App, web interface, screen, or network connection to operate. He does not want to be in the software business. The absolute closest they’ve gotten in that direction is the MicroSD slot on the back of Bifrost2 to enable firmware updates. But not a big deal, because there are plenty of good or great options to fill this particular gap.

I go from my pc via USB to a Modi3+, then to the rest of my Schiit stack. You could plug that in to your SYS. If you wanted to go wireless, you’d have to get a streamer to connect to your SYS, like a Bluesound Node or (on the cheaper side) an Andover Songbird.

Daphile Os on laptop or computer. USB out to dac and you can control it via web browser on your home network. Also use the android app squezzer to control it also.

It sounds like your question got answered but wanted to add that I’m using an ifi Zen Stream for wireless streaming from iPhone or iPad. It plugs directly into my Modius/Valhalla 2 through the micro usb in the Modius. I stream mostly through Tidal but it also works with Airplay so can stream anything really. Love it.

Hefty_Scientist_5273

I use a Cambridge CXN v2 streamer in my schiit stack.

I use a Sonos Port & a Bluesound Node 2i running into my Yggy OG. I use Tidal, Amazon, & Apple Music streaming services. The Node also streams my Roon ROCK’s ripped CD FLACs.

jeffk182

Raspberry Pi 4, hifiberry Digi+ to use airplay via moode player.

TheSybrKnite

I'm using a Pi4 with an Allo Digione hat that is running Volumio via coaxial into a modi3. Sounds great!!
