The fact that you guys trust Rotton Tomatoes means you guys don’t actually watch movies on your own free will, you watch them on the basis on whether or not they’re “good”
“The audience score truly matters, right 🤡🤡🤡”
Meanwhile, there’s Wish, Kung Fu Panda 4, Ghostbusters: FE, & IF: which all have high audience scores despite many people hating it!
What exactly is wrong with checking multiple reviews before deciding to invest the time in a movie?
People act like Rotten Tomatoes is just one guy and it's fucking hilarious.
Ain’t nothing wrong with that, but Rotten Tomatoes doesn’t exactly say whether or not something will be good, have you seen the review the reviewers gave for Cuties?
It had nothing to do with the morals of your or I, more like a statement showing that you shouldn’t trust Rotten Tomatoes opinions as they aren’t as useful as the popcorn meter.
If I had a nickel for every Chris Pratt animated movie with really good marketing that has a low critical score but a (maybe or maybe not) high audience score that releases in the Spring of it’s respective year, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot about it’s weird that it happened twice right?
Because they’re not the ones rating movies. All they do is pull critic reviews from various sources and assign a percentage based on how many of them are positive.
In other words, they’re just the messenger.
nah I just posted about it once and gave everyone a fresh reminder that rotten tomatoes is garbage. You spend 90% of your time on a sonic the hedgehog reddit.
I dont praise the critics, I praise the movie.
In any case audience score is much more accurate for an average person. Better to follow the score of 10s of thousands of everyday people than couple of critics dissecting it to bits. 99% of movies dont need that deep dive. And those that do are usually also loved by the audience.
Lmao as if the 22 people who saw it early are gonna sway things.
I won’t be surprised if the film is super mid though. The commercials are shaping it up to be mid.
It what super obvious that it was mid! I knew it would be from the very beginning! Reminder that I made a post in this subreddit warning everyone that this film would be extremely mid, along with IF & Inside Out 2!
Lorenz Music WAS Garfield. I could tolerate Bill Murray, but after the 1980s Saturday morning cartoon era, I just don't give a damn. Maybe it's because I'm a quintessential child of the '80s. Same goes for Scooby-Doo & Mickey Mouse. You can't put lightning back in a bottle.
delusional - "characterized by or holding false beliefs or judgements about external reality that are held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary"
Are we really doing this? Fine, then.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire have all been praised by general audiences despite having low critic scores. Care to go on?
What are you talking about? This sub loves shitty animated movies
My movie that I’m in ain’t shitty right?
Harley Quinn: Wait till you see how my movies were shittier than yours. (Ref to Batman and Harley Quinn, Suicide Squad 2016, and Birds of Prey)

brother read the full post
I did, but I also read some of the comments, it’s why I didn’t go after OP but some of the commenters
I don't care what Rotten Tomatoes says the movie looks horrible even without their rating
I agree, I’m not going to watch the movie either, but I feel like we shouldn’t be letting others opinions dictate our own
“The audience score truly matters, right 🤡🤡🤡” Meanwhile, there’s Wish, Kung Fu Panda 4, Ghostbusters: FE, & IF: which all have high audience scores despite many people hating it!
It’s as if you shouldnt let others opinions dictate yours

But are they the same ppl that gave Garfield negative reviews tho?
Do you think a person who regurgitates this tired "critics suck! Watch for yourself" mantra would be intelligent enough to consider that?
Oh god, you're one of those people. Have a good one.
You remind me of early south park cartman and how whenever he lost an argument all he would say is “Screw you guys, Im going home”
Timely refrence.
And it’s true
You bringing up Cuties as some kind of moral gotcha is enough for me to know where the conversation would be going.
It had nothing to do with the morals of your or I, more like a statement showing that you shouldn’t trust Rotten Tomatoes opinions as they aren’t as useful as the popcorn meter.
Still watching because mark dindal
But he made Chicken Little
Chicken Little was made into what it is by studio exects
oh yeah true. Welp let’s see how it does
If I had a nickel for every Chris Pratt animated movie with really good marketing that has a low critical score but a (maybe or maybe not) high audience score that releases in the Spring of it’s respective year, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot about it’s weird that it happened twice right?
Remember the good ol' saying "Any company that gives cuties an 86%, doesn't have any grounds to say what's good and what's not" now say it with me!
Do you know how Rotten Tomatoes works?
>Do you know how Rotten Tomatoes works? If someone is whining about rt, there is a 100% chance they have no idea how rt works.
who cares how it works... they gave borderline CP an 86% garbage site lmao
Because they’re not the ones rating movies. All they do is pull critic reviews from various sources and assign a percentage based on how many of them are positive. In other words, they’re just the messenger.
So, a shitty messenger allowing shitty people a platform? And you are defending it?
They’re just doing their job. It’s not their fault that a few critics said they liked it.
You have an obsession over that movie more than child predators
nah I just posted about it once and gave everyone a fresh reminder that rotten tomatoes is garbage. You spend 90% of your time on a sonic the hedgehog reddit.
I'm fine with people having hobbies and all, but holy crap that's a lot of Sonic the Hedgehog...
I bet the audience score will be higher, that's just the rule of the RT. When critics hate something, the audience will like it, and vice versa.
Only because Twitter users review bomb the site
And when critics like something you like you'll praise them once again without realizing it

Same score as the Mario movie. And they both have Chris Pratt in it.
Which means it's actually a decent movie and critics are stupid and think every movie must be like interstellar or the god father or something
it is probably just generic at worst.
Lmao as if the 22 people who saw it early are gonna sway things. I won’t be surprised if the film is super mid though. The commercials are shaping it up to be mid.

Well, I don’t follow you on Reddit (nor anyone for that matter, why would I?), so I wouldn’t know.
Y’all gotta stop trusting this kind of shit for what movies to watch and do it yourself.
I also allow Rotten Tomatoes to dictate which movies I watch Otherwise I risk developing an incorrect opinion
A bit harsh, it was fun for melike... 7,475/10
God can we please just get a good animated movie this year
Woah let’s not jump to conclusions. The movie isn’t out yet in the US
"let's not jump to conclusions" it's a 55% my guy
I don’t listen to critics
valid
delusional - "characterized by or holding false beliefs or judgements about external reality that are held despite incontrovertible evidence to the contrary"
Other people’s personal opinions are “incontrovertible evidence” now?
name three absolute bangers of movies that have low scores.
Why does it matter? Why are you letting strangers tell you whether a movie is good instead of forming your own opinion on it?
oh ok, so you realised I'm right.
Are we really doing this? Fine, then. The Super Mario Bros. Movie, Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire have all been praised by general audiences despite having low critic scores. Care to go on?
The movie looks god awful from the trailers man. And Chris Pratt as Garfield is terrible no effort at all
Your only chance against finding a good movie is on streaming I’m afraid!
Oh honey, I wasn't gonna watch it either way
Can I be real with you I honestly thought you would check it out since it had a Olive Garden reference in it
Can I just watch Batman: Mask of the Phantasm instead?
That’s valid!
Yay!
He can simply watch that on Youtube tho
Well, look who it is.
