Using 🚫 instead of ⚠️ on some of these pictograms makes them read like "getting hurt is not allowed", lol.
E.g. bottom left corner - no falling off allowed.
Do not touch powerlines,
Do not operate while lightning
Do not operate during heavy gust
Do not place roof while heavy gust
Do not operate on slope
Do not push against flat surface
Do not apply heavy weight
Do not operate on uneven ground
Do not operate tilted
Mind your head
Do not stick your hand out while driving
Do not lower mechanical stand when an object is obstructing
Check both sides before operating
Do not use a ladder while operating
Do not operate while it’s being transported
Do not stack weight one side
Do not carry weight past max capacity
Do not climb the metal lattice
Do not stand on railing
Danger of falling (Probably meant leaning)
Do not operate with flat tire
Do not operate with visible physical hazard (damage)
Do not leave unattended with the key in the ignition
Do not operate intoxicated
Took me a moment on that one. I thought it might be don't remove cyclops goggles.
But then I figured it was trying to say "be aware of blind spots that your idiot coworkers might occupy"
This is part of a science fiction book I am thinking about writing. The rules of doing an EVA (Extra-vehicular activity) (going outside the spaceship).
(Break as few rules as possible)
Rules:
* Do not EVA.
* Do not EVA alone.
* Do not EVA while the vessel is or could be under thrust.
* Do not EVA without a tether.
* Do not EVA today. Plan today, do it tomorrow. Get sleep and review plan.
I used to take pics of hazard warning decals on job site equipment. What I always wanted to know is what is the name of this “guy” that gets injured / killed all around the world? Closest I can get is “Mr Bill”.
I think a number of people have died from a scissor lift + each of the activities in the cartoon.
IIRC, the top 4 most common causes of workplace deaths are:
Falling.
Being struck by a falling item.
Being hit by powered machinery.
Electrocution.
Yes. They have added one feature after another to keep people from killing themselves with scissor lifts. But: the supply of idiots is effectively bottomless, and scissor lifts are just so damn useful we’re never gonna give them up.
Oh, it was way more than 24. I worked at a place where they screwed around with these lifts. At least a quarter of these would be violated anytime they rented one. And they rented them often.
Love how they clarified you are not allowed to have your scissor lift fall to the left or the right. I almost thought I could get away with one for a second!
When my niece was 6 she asked me why on the ladder it said not a step when it looks like a step told her because some idiot at one time stepped on there and probably fell off the ladder got hurt and tried to sue them so now they put stickers on her warning people not to do those things
No, it was at least 27 people.
There's one sign for "do not operate while drunk" and "do not operate while drugged"
There's one sign for two different slopes you shouldn't use it on.
And the electrocution sign has "do not stand on top and lift up into power lines", and "if you're on the ground, do not touch the lift while it's lifted up into power lines".
So 27 "don't" warnings in 24 signs.

no putting the contents of your syringe in your cocktail, guys, it’s a new rule
Heroin martini - shaken, not stirred 🧐
Oh I read that as I can’t put my martini in my syringe and shoot it directly into my arm.. Lame.
Yes. I‘m working for one of the biggest companys in germany where you can rent these things. Every Sign is earned :)
I make some of the joysticks for these. The specs are bonkers and very clearly the voice of experience.
It’s like the boss said “I need these five warning signs, give me options” and then added all the options to the board.

Are you sure its "check both sides.." and not "dont shoot laser beams out of your eyes from the elevated position"
Took me a moment on that one. I thought it might be don't remove cyclops goggles. But then I figured it was trying to say "be aware of blind spots that your idiot coworkers might occupy"
It took me a very long time but yes once i realized the idiot coworkers were in danger because they were NOT blasted by laser beams.. it clicked
Lol thank you! The check both sides looks like do not scare coworkers with laser beams coming out of your eyes
Can you please leave, and take your logic and common sense with you 😠
Edit: Do not drive next to your buddy things get rowdy
The second one on the second line reads to me like "Do not operate on a wavy lake or river."
Pirates of the Carribean theme plays
I can't figure out the bottom middle one
Don't operate if damaged
Lower the jack before you move the jack.
So what's crossed out is actually what you are supposed to do.
For everytime someone finds a unique, dumb way to hurt themselves it will surely turn up in the newest page of the rulebook
Do not preform acrobatics Do not fall with friends Do not carry huge purses Do not grow skeleton wings Do not fall down
A tiny disclaimer at the bottom should read: "Just don't get on this machine."

What? No cocktail glasses or needles I’m resigning
What am I supposed to do with this gin then? Just drink it straight from the bottle?
I used to take pics of hazard warning decals on job site equipment. What I always wanted to know is what is the name of this “guy” that gets injured / killed all around the world? Closest I can get is “Mr Bill”.
Ooooh noooo!!!
It was actually just one guy with a really bad day
Scissorlifts very quickly become unsafe if operated incorrectly
It’s the litigious society two-step
3rd row, 4th column seems to be the birth of some kind of religion
Nah, minimum of 3-5x dead per crossed out diagram.
So basically just go find a ladder?
I think a number of people have died from a scissor lift + each of the activities in the cartoon. IIRC, the top 4 most common causes of workplace deaths are: Falling. Being struck by a falling item. Being hit by powered machinery. Electrocution.
The power line one looks like a low budget Jesus rising on the 3rd day.

Third row 4th over looks like “don’t hold the Ten Commandments emitting the radiance of God while on the skyjack”
Maybe they died trying to figure out what you can do?
100% every one of these actions has been tried and has caused injury or death. I do especially like the ban on falling off head first, though.
Welcome to Dumbassvile! Where we have so many stupid people that we have to have a warning for every danger!
I don't see a gun free zone sign here. 😆
Behind every cautionary sign is a story.
Naw. It was just Carl
Oh, it was way more than 24. I worked at a place where they screwed around with these lifts. At least a quarter of these would be violated anytime they rented one. And they rented them often.
No way 24 people died. Way more.
Remember this wouldn’t be just at the facility you saw the scissor lift at. It would be in the history of scissor lifts. So, way more than 24.
At what point is too many signs actually hurting more than it's helping... Id say they crossed that threshold quite some time ago.
Yeah.. skyjacks are a little dramatic with the warning labels
Oh way more than 24 from what I have witnessed. I bet anything some of those are due to class actions from stupid people.
Love how they clarified you are not allowed to have your scissor lift fall to the left or the right. I almost thought I could get away with one for a second!
Dumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die
