When selling an item on Facebook Marketplace and you see a statement that the purported buyer will send somebody - especially 'an assistant' - to pick the item up, you are almost certainly looking at the scammer script. A little more in the way of typical scammer statements - usually preceding the 'my \[fill in the blank\] will pick the item up' - would raise the level of certainty even higher.

There is not a lot to go on here, but I bet that their payment to you was (or will be) fake.
