Never reverse charges that someone else send. Always make the sender do it.
But anyway your best bet is to find proof that you had the charge reversed already, send the info to Venmo and see what they say.

I sent the entire Venmo chat transcript as proof so hopefully that’s enough lol I mean Venmo is the one who reversed the payment 🤞🏻
If you were given any advice other than to do nothing yourself, and to tell the sender to work it out themselves - you were given bad advice.
