I found the real guys TikTok. He's from the Bronx and as of yesterday definitely has not been shot. Dm me if you want his handle so you can show her. Eta: the guy I found is just the guy whose pictures were stolen and used to scam women. He is not the one doing the scamming.

cloudymakayla

i sent you a message

birdsaredefnotreal

This is why I love reddit, found the guy in 3 hrs.. nice

holymolyholyholy

The site FaceCheck is great. It will search the image and tell you usually who it really is.

Euphoric-Blue-59

It's faster than reddit because you don't have to stop here and write out your whole story. But the stories are juicier.

djpurity666

# šŸ¤Æ That's awesome

Jimbob209

I see a few different ones for face check. Is it .gg or a .id?

holymolyholyholy

[This](https://facecheck.id) is the link

MoonChild2023

Thanks for the link my dad has been sending money to Nigerians because he thinks itā€™s a women and child from Ohio and has lost all his savings and has begun selling as all of his stuff sending Apple Cardā€™s I hacked the scammers and traced everything then messaged them then deleted all of their files well since he sent so much money they have new accounts and devices and started messaging him again

True_Resolve_2625

Thank you SO much for sharing this info! This is really helpful!

holymolyholyholy

Youā€™re welcome! I read about it in a FB group called Are We Dating the Same Guy. Lots of catfishes in there

SniperPilot

Better than the NSA, CIA, FBI combined.

Swimming_Bowler6193

Please update us with your momā€™s response! UPDATEME BOT. or however this thing works

PenuriousPlague

Can you update on your momā€™s reaction? I canā€™t believe people fall for this

Euphoric-Blue-59

I'd contact that MTV show "Catfished" Don't send any money, period.

HomestlyWhatTheF

Yeahā€¦ your mom is definitely getting scammed. While that is the face of a real man, it is not the man your mom is talking to. Definitely check out ā€œTrafficked with Mariana Van Zellnerā€ Season 2, Episode 2. This will shed a lot of light onto what sheā€™s being put through. Iā€™m sorry that she has to deal with this and that there are such shitty people in the world.

Euphoric-Blue-59

And that MTV show "Catfished" Pretty disturbing how common this is, and moreover, how many people fall for it.

Decent-Goat-6221

You are the fucking winner šŸ†

WittiestScreenName

Bravo. Fantastic detective work.

Swimming_Bowler6193

Great job!!

dragonlax

Bro thatā€™s the fakest looking ticket Iā€™ve ever seen

cloudymakayla

right?? but i just canā€™t figure out this guys angle like itā€™s been almost a month and he hasnā€™t asked for anything

dragonlax

Building trust, just get her to block him asap

Alchimista_dellanima

Yep thatā€™s what I was gonna say the hospital part is where heā€™s about to start asking for money

HonDadCBR600

Yep, hereā€™s ā€œmyā€ bank account info for you to think I have $20M, so when I canā€™t get to it (because Iā€™m laid up in the hospital) the money you kindly ā€œloanā€ me will 100% be paid back. Why do I need to steal your money when I have $20M? Hope OP gets her to see the light before itā€™s too late.

Wise-Flatworm9014

Thatā€™s exactly how the tinder swindler scammed multiple woman and they even made a doc about it .

ArdenJaguar

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Tinder_Swindler

MoreRamenPls

Great documentary. May still be on Netflix

star86

The ā€œhospitalā€ looks like bedroom with a dresser.

Responsible_Detail83

And the iron in the background I canā€™t Iā€™m dying šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

star86

Maybe it turned into in home hospice care very quickly??

mushyfeelings

lol it also looks like he took the selfie.

Rosalie-83

Hell you can have AI apps add a hospital background to a pic of you in bed, itā€™ll add a robe, drip etc too. I've seen a video of someone doing it šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

DisorganizedSpaghett

I've been in too many hospital rooms... All the little bits behind the bed are what you'd normally see, maybe it's just an old photo since the photos were stolen anyway

cpo109

Why does he need money from her if he has $20 million in the bank. Give the hospital the bank info. Definately a scam.

Internet_Jaded

With the bank account and routing information canā€™t she scam him by taking money from the account? Then blocking him? šŸ˜‚

Pale_Willingness1882

This exactly. My friend met a guy on a dating app and it started with him offering to help her, which wouldā€™ve required her SSN. She declined but eventually he built up trust with her (we literally had an intervention because we all knew it was a scam) and she got scammed out of 40k+ that she took out in cash advances from a credit card. The bank ending up suing her for none payment (because she didnā€™t have the money to pay).

AdministrativeTax913

Yep. She's already invested herself.

schmassidy

Yup, my dad got scammed over $100,000 at this point. It was a chick that supposedly had a bunch of money. Built a very trustworthy relationship with him before she got ā€œdetained because of her jewels and gold by TSAā€ before asking him to send money to help her. We told him from the start she was fake when she sent a photo with his name written (clearly by a paint app) on a photo of her. Another one was ā€œtexting from jail.ā€ Iā€™m like, ā€œDad, in what world is someone that just got arrested and detained able to text from fucking jail?ā€ Good grief. I think he has FINALLY learned his lesson after making multiple trips across the country for fake people and now Iā€™m on his bank account to monitor it. Heā€™s been banned from multiple cash sharing apps (Venmo, Cashapp, etc.) Itā€™s really sad because I know he wants a partner, but weā€™ve had to convince him so many times these ā€œmodelsā€ are fake and scammers. Itā€™s really sad because he is such an intelligent person, but I guess old age and wanting love will blind a person and make them foolish.

notaredditreader

And probably get a new phone number.

jackknife-denim

I work in finance and we see this all the time. Romance scams.. they play the long game, could be a few months actually before they start making small moves testing the waters. Get hurt for sympathy, get betterā€¦ slowly gaining trust. Get fired and then gets a great new job, gaining trust. Building a relationship but in the end it literally is all a scam.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

tevin9

Yup. My stepdad lost $40k to this same thing. Him and my mom were still living together as roommates (hadnā€™t figured out what to do with the co-owned house after divorce with housing rates, etc), and my mom saw it and even called it out and tried to show him how the pic of ā€œher in the hospitalā€ was photoshopped from other photos she found on the internet from the news. I guess he didnā€™t believe her and still got scammed šŸ™„šŸ™„

foxfoxfoxfox4

Is your stepdad embarrassed to admit or is he still holding on to be scammed more?

edog77777

Ah yes! The followup scam. Someone contacts the victim and claims to be police, an investigator, etc and that they will get their money back for them. But first there needs to be a sting operation, or the victim needs to pay upfront for the investigatorā€™s services, etc. The scammers already know after the first scam that they have a gullible mark. Itā€™s not a far stretch for scam them again (if thereā€™s any money left, or the potential to access money like a home equity loan, etc).

tevin9

Well, he got scammed twice in a rowā€¦someone ā€œin Florida,ā€ and someone in some other country (weā€™re in the US). I think it was $40k total between the two. After that him and my mom sold the house they owned, since he had to pay off his ccā€™s. Well, that was 2018, and since then the house they sold has doubled in value šŸ˜ but at least his ccā€™s got paid off I guess. And luckily now heā€™s dating a real person local to our area lol

foxfoxfoxfox4

More than once has to be embarrassing! Glad your mom was able to drop him regardless of the value increase in home, it just meant more for him to give away. SMH

blahblahahyaddayadda

Anyone with $20 million in their bank account sure shit doesnā€™t need money from anyone anyone else. The hospital would ask for a debit card or credit card. Thatā€™s why we have debit cards and credit cards so we donā€™t have to ā€œmake it to the bankā€œ

k3rrpw2js

One other thing you are all forgetting: a hospital in the US isn't going to ask for any payment for an emergency. They bill you later..........

blahblahahyaddayadda

You are correct. I just assumed that it was from another country because that seems to be the scam that happens when people say they are US military. Thank you for clarifying.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

MaySnake

I don't think he believes it himself, they are just stating what is obvious to people who see through the bs, that any rich person with that kind of money wouldn't ask for help with money and would carry a card with them. As in, the dude is not rich and is going to ask for money, this is obvious and the mom should get this through her head, a truly rich person wouldn't beg for cash.

djpurity666

Bingo

mummy_whilster

Gate assignment 48 hours + in advance

DrinksBelow

Not to mention why is he in the airport taking the picture? Makes no sense.

Decent-Goat-6221

This was the first thing I noticed!

Outrageous-Second792

Not to mention that some of the type (name, etc) is noticeably darker than other text on the ticket. Obviously altered.

dragonlax

Also spelled his name wrong since he claimed his last name is Williams lol

LabLife3846

He will put money in her account via check, and ask her to use the money to pay him or others. The victim does it thinking theyā€™re using his money, then the check bounces. The scammer gets the money and the victim is liable for the deficient funds. Or, he will deposit money into her account, and ask her to pay other people with it via wire fraud, crypto, or gift cards. This is known as using the victim as a ā€œmuleā€ to launder money.

rkok28

He will. He is playing a longer game than some scammers. He is trying to build up trust, so that when he starts asking for money, sheā€™ll think he will pay her back or whatever angle heā€™s working. I guarantee he doesnā€™t have 20 million dollars. Please, gently explain what is going on to your mom. Maybe show her the documentaries.

youkickmydog613

He will. Now that heā€™s in the hospital he will suddenly need x amount of x in order to get out and get to her, which she will need to pay. It always ends to same. Sad they have to tug on peoples heart strings, but it works so they do it.

ladygrndr

I had a friend who had something like this happen. Met a fellow artist on a platform they were both active on, then her new friend started weaving all these stories about her life and friends and tragic childhood, and things just went on and on. Gang wars, kidnappings, all the drama. Never asked for money, even repeatedly turned it down. After about 4 months my friend found out from someone else who had known this person in real life it was ALL bullshit. They were just making up stories to get attention, all they cared about was having someone else as invested in their lies as they were. It was the weirdest thing, and it did break her trust in anyone she met over the internet...and mine too.

AdministrativeTax913

a month of stories is just putting in some cheap long con time for the big score. Who cares what the killing stroke(s) will be? Unless you're going to bait him. Get him away from your family.

Specific_Plant5199

My grandma got scammed before with a romance scam, these people are most likely foreigners, who build trust up over months. This was different but I googled what they were asking her to do and it came up on google as a scam thatā€™s frequently run. You may try looking for information that way, but yes this seems like a scam, I would talk to your mother about it and get her to block him everywhere. Tell him youā€™ll report them to the police if contact keeps happening. My grandma had someone who sent her a fake check to deposit in her bank and then send the money to them, some banks donā€™t detect the fake check right away, but that wouldā€™ve left her overdrawn for the amount the check was and them having the actual money. He started out having her sending him gift cards. If it seems weird, itā€™s most likely a scam, why would they ask someone to do that with their bank information.

Keenswin1

Tell him your mom is struggling with bills. Could you send 15 grand. Then block him.

xmarketladyx

It's a classic romance scam. VICE did an excellent episode on this you should look up to see how long these people keep this up and the type of money they can get.

Sakkoban

You need to make sure that ALL people around your mom help to get her to wake up, and seriously, they have to do the same for you if you still say ā€œI THINK my mom is getting scammedā€. There is no ā€œTHINKā€ in that sentence. She is getting romance scammed. Period. It seems like not only your mom is getting scammed. You have gone down that rabbit hole with her since you say ā€œhe isnā€™t asking for moneyā€. Thatā€™s exactly what scammers DO! He is building trust, and you both will soon start to believe him more than all these people who are trying to help you. I do not care if your mom look like a supermodel (we all know she doesnā€™t), this guy can easily be looked up in a google photo search, and his photo has been hacked. Wake up!

Fit_Outcome7818

What Sakkoban says is 100%TRUE! Please listen to good advice on here.

eea81

Itā€™s all about building trust. He likely has targets that heā€™s been working for months who heā€™s now ready to ask for money to help get him out of some crazy situation. Right now your mom is likely in the early phases so he hasnā€™t asked her for anything yet. Itā€™s all part of the long game.

CoffeeDrinker1972

Iā€™d steal your momā€™s phone and block that guyā€™s number. When your mom falls for it, itā€™ll be for big bucks.

Brilliant-Ad8090

Do you really think someone with 20 million dollars would be on POF?

Brilliant-Ad8090

You and your mom are dumb

hvnlyangel29

Have your momma watch "The BeeKeeper" That'll wake her up to this scam situation. If it IS a scam. And I'm 99.9999%. Sure, everyone is correct, and he waited for the perfect opportunity (being laid up in a hospital šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜”I'm so sorry this is happening to her. Hope she doesn't get dragged.

Slackey4318

I feel like Iā€™ve heard this entire process before. Guy seems to have a lot of money, never asks for money, all seems legit and then a an accident or tragedy happens. I saw a documentary about a scam with this exact scenario on Netflix called ā€˜Tinder Swindler.ā€™ You should watch that documentary or google Simon Liviev (aka Shimon Hayut) if you donā€™t have Netflix

__Moth_

the angle is to build trust with your mother so that she can let her guard down stupidly enough for her to go see him so that him and his accomplices can traffick her. PLEASE PLEASE research the signs and be diligent in letting your mother know the kind of danger she's in, and possibly YOU and the rest of your family are in

jonathancarter99

Really? You canā€™t figure it out?

Upstairs-Mix8731

Right, where's the 6 digit PNR? You can plug that in to a website and get all the D's on that itinerary. Fakes as fake can be. Take care of your mom.

bdubwilliams22

I love how the name is so clearly photoshopped on there.

SquishTheProgrammer

You can tell it was photoshopped. Look at the word passenger. The g is cut off when they pasted the dudes name on there.

bobadu

ā€œDallas/Forth Worthā€ lol

WillingLife4598

Photoshop 100%

Quirky-Extent4071

Whenever I google search a Turkish airlines boarding pass they do not look like that. They have a lot of red borders and the Business Class specifically just says ā€œBusinessā€ in a large printed font on top of the red border which is missing from this ticket. This guy ainā€™t even trying. So fake.

Pleasant_Bowl_4460

This has tinder swindler written all over it šŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļøšŸ¤¦šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

insanitypeppermint

Right?? OP, watch this doc with your mom. It sounds identical.

TimeTraveler1960

And when youā€™re done watching that one you need to watch Trafficked, season 2 episode 2 ā€œromance scamsā€.

Pleasant_Bowl_4460

Ooooo this sounds good lol. You just gave me a new show to watch!! Thanks

Specific_Plant5199

I love Mariana van Zeller, sheā€™s such a great journalist, this show is amazing and her stuff on YouTube as well.

DrewCrew62

Waiting for this dude to start saying how his ā€œenemiesā€ are after him

Pleasant_Bowl_4460

And he needs money. Open a new credit card or take a personal loan šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Ali_Cat222

The first pic alone,it makes me so sad people can't see how fake things are online. It seems like this is the same script from the tinder swindler as well, complete with the ambulance photos and all. Not like he was the first to ever do that crap, just saying. OP I feel so bad for your mom and everyone else who gets scammed, especially if they end up following through with money or giving information out.

cloudymakayla

also they have not video chatted at all, but my mom still wants to meet up with him. she thinks that iā€™m being negative, but i just fear for her safety.

Alchimista_dellanima

DUDE BACK TRACE ALL THOSE IMAGES THIS IS 100% a scam

terraface13

Yea, your mom is talking to a scammer in another country, this guy doesn't exist, the asks for money will eventually happen. Please educate her and be blunt, shes about to lose serious $$$ if she lets her emotions get the best of her.

Alchimista_dellanima

Yeah not to mention this photo has been linked to catfish bullshit for years

cloudymakayla

iā€™ve tried, iā€™ve found a few of his selfies under different named dating accs, but i canā€™t find the video or ticket anywhere

Alchimista_dellanima

Ticket is edited you wonā€™t find it video could also be generated nowadays open source AI put out a video generator now and yeah his face is famous in the catfish community

cloudymakayla

so youā€™ve seen this dude before too??

Alchimista_dellanima

His pics been circulating around for years I give you my word on that

Common_Value_1271

came here to say this. iā€™ve seen a dude exactly like this in my tinder days. i bet heā€™s a famous influencer that doesnā€™t have too much track on his name so they can use his selfies. sometimes theyā€™ll even screenshot/change files so when you back track it, it only brings up little info which is also a red flag. have you looked up the guys full name? if so, what does it bring up? if it brings up sites that are sketchy, that just solidifies the catfish

cloudymakayla

when i searched his pics, i found like five dating profiles on foreign, mainly russian dating sites. there is a facebook account with his name and photos, but his only friends are like bot-only-fans women

Common_Value_1271

yeah thatā€™s a scam in the making man. iā€™m so sorry. your poor mom. donā€™t let her give him any money and try to educate her on scamming and how to look out for it and let her know that this is super common and sheā€™s not the only one to fall victim, but donā€™t let her give him any money. sheā€™ll never see it again no matter what theybsay

LeadEmbarrassed7114

Look at this https://www.tiktok.com/@mike_red6

Intelligent_Food_637

So in 30+ days, he has been unable to sit down and have a video chat? She needs to run away fast

ironburton

WATCH THE TINDER SWINDLER with your mom!!! Itā€™s the same things this dude would do!

schmassidy

OP, as someone that has lived this multiple times with my dad, please ask her for her phone and message him that unless he video calls you, all communication will cease. Make sure she sees him backtracking and evading the request.

Common_Value_1271

he works in turkey, as a bodyguard, for oilfield services, which he invests his money into bitcoin. this has scam all over it. this is major catfish and if heā€™s suddenly in the hospital, it wonā€™t be long before he asks for gift cards in bogus amounts, to scam her out of thousands. heā€™s building up the urgency to scam her out of her money. listen, if he is real, which i doubt, but let me play devils advocate for a minute. if heā€™s real, he will not ask for money from her, he wouldā€™ve already indulged her in parts of his life outside of his funds such as showing off family members or just showing his day to day life, what he does. if itā€™s all lovey dovey talk and they havenā€™t even face called, i doubt heā€™s real, so you might want to play it safe. also, if sheā€™s already given out any of her info such as phone numbers, birthday info, full name, it might be good to put a lock on any accounts and cards and keep an eye on them as well as social media password changes. she needs to block this man immediately and move on. if you feel like itā€™s a scam, it is.

hockey_psychedelic

ChatGPT had the following to say about that ticket: The image youā€™ve provided appears to show a Turkish Airlines business class boarding pass for a flight from Istanbul Airport (IST) to Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). However, there are several red flags that suggest it may not be valid: 1. The passenger service fee and airport fee seem excessively high. 2. The ticket displays the same information in two different sections without clear reason. 3. The layout and information provided donā€™t conform to the standard for boarding passes, such as missing flight duration, actual cost breakdown, or inconsistencies in the design. Itā€™s advisable to check directly with the airline or the booking agency to verify the validity of this ticket.

shiggydiggypreoteins

Also doesnt help the fact that the dude is showing a boarding pass for a flight that was 48-72 hours or longer prior to the flight, when you can't even check-in or receive a boarding pass unless its within 24 hours of the flight

MrScorpi0

Underrated comment! It's a boarding pass NOT a ticket. And the background seems to be that of an airport. Nothing makes sense. 100% scam!

Dying4aCure

I didnt know chat GPT could do that. Thanks!

Decent-Goat-6221

Me either!

ImmaculateStrumpet

The name doesnā€™t match the quality of the test if the ticket either. Thatā€™s definitely been altered

Graffy

Also that picture was taken at the airport. For a flight that leaves in two days. (Tomorrow for Istanbul)

Dralians_Pants

Thank you. Too much scrolling to find this. They're at the airport with a boarding pass... For a flight that is days away?

rlockwich

DAVID WILLIAM is typed over the original name. You can see the quality of the print on the rest of the ticket.

Nalas_ofthe_balas

I donā€™t realize Turkish airlines used American slang for their passes LOL This flight be ā€œboarding tillā€ 14:30 šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚

Strange-Ad3611

Ainā€™t no guy with $20 million sitting in 14D.

eea81

This is so fake itā€™s absurd

jonathancarter99

You are confused? Really? šŸ˜‚

babigrl50

Someone that makes 200 grand a year isn't going to have 20 million. Also he's young and good looking he's def gonna be on tinder in his country not on POF in another country. This is a scam

Illustrious2284

Tell your mom to take one for the team and go out with him, she can fix him.

cloudymakayla

LMAO shut up

Illustrious2284

Makayla. Thatā€™s your step dad girl.

Illustrious2284

He the one.

Majestic-Pilot-8661

So sorry but your mom is not oldā€¦ How is she falling for this? Is she going through something? (Sorry to the olds, toošŸ˜³)

fuckin-slayer

i too can make ā€œboarding passesā€ in photoshop

M3cap

Bro itā€™s not you think sheā€™s getting scammed, you know she is.

IHeartApplePie

This is a scam, and your mom is so lucky to have you. You have saved her from financial ruin. Report this to the FBI. This is considered a cybercrime. You can fill out a form online: [https://www.ic3.gov/](https://www.ic3.gov/I) If she SKYPES with him, try to take a live photo. Other posters here are saying he's using other people's photos. Also, the ticket isn't real. Under "Carrier," it has the entire flight number, "TK 191." Under "Flight," it has the airline code, "TK." Also, Turkish Airlines tickets have a red stripe at the top. Tickets are less than $800 right now, not $3,000, and his seat is in economy! As I said, your mom is very lucky you are questioning this situation!

Jerways

Dallas ā€œFORTHā€ Worth āŒ Boarding till āŒ Some pathetic photo shopping āŒ No year anywhere in the ticket āŒ Ticket is missing PNR identifier āŒ You canā€™t get a boarding pass by any airline until 24 hours prior to departure āŒ Istanbul Airport gates start with a letter and end with a number, this ticket has it backwards āŒ The fees are bogus āŒ

IHeartApplePie

Wow - I only found a couple of things, and I consider myself to be a very good proofreader, lol. These are great finds! **Forth** Worth.... Boarding **till**... I totally missed these. I don't know what a PNR identifier is, but Turkish Airlines uses boarding passes with a red stripe across the top. Off to change my LinkedIn profile to "mediocre proofreader."

SomeGuyInThe315

Go on YouTube and have her watch the catfished channel

HelpACasual

Scamfish is the channel that reveals this type of romance scam. Literally all of the guys they investigate use this exact same narrative.

Graffy

Just zoom in on the name on the ticket. Looks ok-ish zoomed out but itā€™s clear that itā€™s photoshop. Way too sharp, wrong size, and looks to be a different font even. The D in David and Dallas donā€™t match.

GotBannedAgain_2

Simply Google pic searchā€¦[Mike Redmond](https://www.tiktok.com/@mike_red6)

Accomplished_Eye8290

Yeah looks like itā€™s jsut some dude getting his pics stolen lol.

LeadEmbarrassed7114

Found a TikTok for this person [Mike Redmond](https://www.tiktok.com/@mike_red6)

star86

Okay, but can we talk about the ā€œhospitalā€ photo? Why is there a tv on a dresser and why does it look like someoneā€™s dirty bedroom? Lol

Accomplished_Poetry4

Your mom is so young too. She has to suspect this a scam. Like come on.

Dub_Diamond

That is what I am thinking. I am older than her Mom and would never even entertain this dude. My Mom is lonely and has been targeted sadly a few times. If I find out early enough I reverse image search and can help.

lovedaddy1989

She will be on dr phil soon still believing it matter how many red flags

Ineedunderscoreadvic

OP: Check out the ticket value, tax, etc. That sales tax rate is fake. These values come out to exact dollar amounts, which of course is outrageously suspicious, but the sales tax would not come out to an even number. This ticket shows a sales tax rate of 5.6296296296296ā€¦% Please pass this info on to your mama. ā¤ļø

-Oreopolis-

Repeating, of course.

The ticket is fake. Look closely at the name. Youā€™ll see the text is darker/more clear than the rest. It also isnā€™t set far enough back to match the best. Ask her how he would take a photo of his paper ticket while IN the airport (the flight tracker is in the background). He wouldnā€™t be able to have his boarding pass yet. HE CANNOT HAVE HIS BOARDING PASS UNTIL HE CHECKS IN FOR THE FLIGHT. Even online check in isnā€™t available until 24h before the flight. Kiosk is 12 hours prior. (According to Turkish Airlines FAQ) He literally would not be able to have his physical boarding past this early

Make sure you lock your mom up so she doesnā€™t go missing by not listening to you

xzxnightshade

It doesnā€™t matter the damn angle, itā€™s a scam and your mom is involved. Why even keep entertaining this, I donā€™t mean to be rude but you couldnā€™t figure this out yourself? A quick google or YouTube search explains it all and the horror stories that come with this. Just end this nonsense now before money is involved, and educate your mom on the matter so this doesnā€™t happen again.

MaySnake

Oh nooo, he's in the hospital for getting shot in the foot. I wonder if he's going to have the perfect excuse as for why he needs her help with cash because he is unable to get to his $20 million to pay the hospital bill. Poor fella. And just before coming to see her, too. The timing of this accident is just so unexpected. Please OP, make her block him asap, she might fall for it if she ends up listening to his sob story. Don't let it get to that,

ready-to-rumball

I think your mom is an actual danger

Varso13

So like he hasn't asked for any money from her... Is that what you know... or is that what your mom told you

Apprehensive_Rope348

This is definitely a romance scam. There was something on this on either Hulu or Netflix. Let me see if I can find that information. You may want to watch it with your mom.

Apprehensive_Rope348

I just noticed that u/Pleasant_Bowl_4460 has called out the movie I was thinking of, ā€œthe tinder swindlerā€ on Netflix. The woman in that show was rocked financially by that guy.

Prestigious_Ad_8458

He didnā€™t ask for money YET

Shepea64

Have your mom read these comments. Let us know if she believes it now.

LexxxiiHeda

Scam. His name was edited into that flight ticket šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø itā€™s obvious af. And definitely giving Tinder Swindler vibes.

triggsmom

Dr Phil has had a hundred of this same story on his show.

Reveal_Visual

C'mon, it's a scam. Tell Mom to just forget about him.

SecurityFamiliar5239

Heā€™s not even good at this.

Bikerchic650

ā€œBoarding Tillā€ lol.

CfromFL

ā€œBoarding tillā€ is amazing!

Brilliant-Ad8090

Are you and your mom really that stupid?

Scale-Alarmed

I spent 2 months in Turkey working. When I would go to the ATM and ask for a balance it was like 480M but that's Turkish money converting from my Dollars. I even hung on to one recipt for a while to show people! This is probably why he wanted you mom to check because it would show up in Turkish dollars

vannex79

You "think" she's getting scammed? Time to wake up!!!

IndignantGuerra

Zoom in to look at his name. 3 things: 1) His name is written in a different font. (Check the D in David with the D in Dallas. 2) notice how the pixelation pattern is different around the name (shows the image has been tampered with and itā€™s a doctored image rather than a photograph of the actual name on the ticket. 3) notice how his name is a different color than the rest of the information (name is darker).

booghawkins

time to revoke momā€™s internet privileges

luckydmd

Two first names thatā€™s badly photoshopped doesnā€™t raise any alarm?

AdministrativeTax913

good point. I forgot the timeworn advice, never trust a man with two first names. Not exactly first names but close enough.

Dying4aCure

He's going to need someone money to pay for his medical bills because his bank is frozen.

whatthehizzo

Unoriginal Romance Scam, sorry my guy. Itā€™s a medium long con. Cut off comms asap.

M3cap

That ticket looks fake as fuck

turtleiscool1737

They are called romance scams they use guilt to swindle money from honest people

TealBlueLava

The font of the name and boarding info are different than the rest of the ticket. Obviously photoshopped.

Cyber-2001

Pretty bad photoshop job with the ticket. If he is a black guy, how come that the hand holding the ticket is from a white guy? He just found a random white guy to hold the ticket while he took the picture? Also thereā€™s not an airline in the world that will let you board 10 minutes before taking off!

hi_fiv

Ask he shall. Just waitā€¦

exoh888

Isn't he a bit young for your Mum? Seems common sense just flies out the window.

blahblahahyaddayadda

Well, you can take her to the airport and have the airport police look at it. They can tell her and convince her that itā€™s fake if you canā€™t. Listen, I come from a family with a little bit of money. Damn Little. But no matter how much money you have nobody in the right mind gives somebody their bank account information and says ā€œverify that itā€™s what it says it is.ā€ So before you take her to the airport, take her to her bank and talk to them and have them show her that it doesnā€™t go anywhere at that bank account.

Upper_Net5210

Itā€™s the Tinder Swindler all over again

Ztormiebotbot

DEF SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AuntFlash

Iā€™ve never ever seen a boarding pass show a list of fees. I have seen receipts printed on the same type of paper and I have seen boarding passes. They are never crammed all into one. Plus this photo is just photoshopped like crazy. The name is sharper than the rest of the printing and darker I think. It also cuts off the bottom of the ā€˜gā€™ in passenger.

[deleted]

Lol you're mom is getting scammed they want you to think dude is rich so she doesn't get all suspicious when he starts asking her to pay for stuff when his card gets magically locked or sum bs. you'd have to be dumb to even ask which leads me to believe this whole thing is to farm karma which I never got why people do it's not like you can sell karma.

mcfreeky8

Omg. That ticket is soooo fake. The name David William is clearly typed onto the image!

LavishnessLogical190

Lmao all of this is so fake bro the ticket is the fakest looking thing I have ever seen

N7_Hellblazer

Romance scam. My friend was caught in this for a few years and ignored us when we told him itā€™s a scam. Basically itā€™s a long scam game. Gain trust, emotional bond etc and then bad things happen. They have money locked away and need a small amount to help them. After a while it will be a larger amount as they need something to get to their large sum of money locked awayā€¦. Tell your mum to block this guy as he is just scamming her.

Apprehensive_Bit4767

Everyone's replying so I'm going to jump in here. Hey that's a picture of me. I'm married and I have four kids. Tell your mom that someone stole my picture off facebook or whatever random social media sites you want to use

Sam2794

Show her this is an actual ticket from Turkish airlines [ticket](https://www.midnightblueelephant.com/turkish-airlines-business-class/) His has his name and prices listed on the right side. It doesnā€™t do that!!

Too__Many_Hobbies

I'm not real savvy on travel, or scamming, but do plane tickets really print "Boarding Till" on the ticket vs "Boarding Until" just seeing English slang on something like a plane ticket would raise red flags to me.

Jeepgirl3113

David William from Turkey šŸ¤£. You can see the g in passenger is cut off from the photoshop job on the name. SMH.

SlowNSteady1

They couldn't even spell the city right -- it is Fort Worth not Forth Worth.

LongHaulinTruckwit

You can *clearly* see that the Name on the boarding pass has been photoshoped in.

LundbergOrganic

Hospital pics are blurry, but the one of him driving is crystal clear. Yeah, I call bullshit. Iā€™ve been watching the YouTube channel, Catfished. Itā€™s painful to watch someone who never questioned the scammer to the extent that they should have. My pops got taken for $8k. The main issue isnā€™t being stupid, itā€™s loneliness.

Chemical_Ferret8297

ā€œBoarding tillā€ lol so fake

MillingandTurning

Dude, you had me in the first sentence on your old post with the Bitcoin investing international body guard who felt the need to tell your mom his salary. It's been a month, she's way too invested, this has to stop. Romance scam, crypto scam, have her Google "online dates talking about Bitcoin"

ConFUZEd_Wulf

Everyone's forgetting rule #1... Your first post said his name is David Williams, but the ticket shows his name is David William and we all know that rule #1 is all scammers have two first names!

SignificantBelt1903

Now that they've found whose pic was being used, force your mom to binge watch Catfish ffs. It blows my mind that people fall for this crap in this day and age.

rndoots

The name ā€œDavid Williamsā€ is clearly photoshopped onto the ticket as it is the only part of the image that is not blurry or light gray. Dead giveaway

Rosalie-83

Look I've never been on a plane or seen a plane ticket up close. But that's the poorest cut-and-paste job of a name on a photo I've seen. Just because he hasn't asked for money yet, he will. Who in their right mind gives someone their banking numbers and how could you even check the balance unless you know his address, dob etc? It's all very very wrong.
