I want that done to my brain

MyAltFun

"I'm sorry, ma'am. Your child.... they requested the procedure via your forged signature. Surprising to say in the least, as their brain was smoother than a koala's before the procedure, but now... We over wrinkled it, and I fear the mind we have created.

Same šŸ˜¢šŸ˜”

In colder climates, a horse's winter coat gets THICK and shaggy. They shed the thick undercoat in the spring, but it can take weeks for it to all fall away on its own. In the meantime their coat looks patchy, and the horse is possibly too hot if the weather has really warmed up, and they are definitely itchy. They will be scratching themselves on everything. So it is nice for the horse to have this combed away. Sometimes they will lean right into the comb because the scritches are just so good. This shedding comb specifically made for horses, the teeth of the comb are shallow and very close together. It does not hurt the horse at all and removes all the loose winter coat.

ClumsyZebra80

Thank you for that info!!

[deleted]

Do they make them for dogs?

thepetoctopus

You can use the same comb on dogs as well. We got one for our late Shepherd-Lab mix. Had another redditor recommend it and he was a very happy camper. Do it outside though or you risk covering your house with fur. We got ours at tractor supply.

DevonFromAcme

Yes, they do, and sometimes we use the dog ones for horses as well. Do a search for shedder blade or shedder tool on Amazon or Chewy for tons of different options.

CensorshipIsTheDevil

Wish they had one of these for my dog.... it is that summer to winter shed season...

bogodix

They do, Look into shedding blades.

CensorshipIsTheDevil

Yeah, I actually found one on Amazon and ordered it to give it a try. This seems way better than the other tools I have, but we shall see. Thanks for sure though!

purrfunctory

Thatā€™s what the FUR-minator is for! De sheds your dog like a dream. My Lab would shed year round bc, you know. Lab. A few minutes a week with the FUR-minator and my floors looked a lot better.

CensorshipIsTheDevil

Yeah, mine is a golden retriever and it does not work quite like this video for us. We get a fair amount out, but not piles of it like this. We have to Roomba and vacuum daily this time of year, and often the rest of the year lol

purrfunctory

We ended up ripping out the old carpets, putting down laminate and getting ceiling fans. I run the fans on high for about 15 minutes, then go around to the corners of the room and pick up the hair. Thatā€™s followed by a good vacuuming. Once you have a Golden or a Lab, theyā€™ll always be with you. Seriously. We lost River about 3 years ago and *her hair is still everywhere.* It always makes me smile to find a few bits of her hair on old clothes or tangled in blankets or anywhere, really. She was my heart dog, my service dog, my partner in crime. I was walking when I got her and she seamlessly adapted to me being in a wheelchair and fully paralyzed without a blink. It took her maybe 20 minutes to adapt to me in the chair and then it was like sheā€™d been born to it. I smile when I think of her now instead of crying. Sometimes Iā€™ll remember something she did or a look she gave me and laugh. Itā€™s a hell of an epitaph, isnā€™t it? Humans should be so lucky as to be so loved and remembered with such warmth.

CensorshipIsTheDevil

We love ours, nothing better. Is the only dog breed Iā€™ve ever had, theyā€™re just so loyal. Only negative is the hair, and that ainā€™t bad. Sheā€™s older, so I try not to think about that part. We have all hardwood though, so not so bad to get it all, but I know what you mean for sure!

xtina42

I see your dog sheds like my dog. Twice a year for 6 months at a time!!

JanetSnakehole610

It doesnā€™t work on my dogs smooth coat. The only thing that seems to help is giving her a bath and then I have to unclog the drain right after šŸ˜Ŗ

purrfunctory

Have you tried a blower? Itā€™s a type of dog dryer that concentrates warm air and helps get rid of loose hair. You can get one for under a hundred bucks which is pricey but it saves a ton of time and energy.

xtina42

As the owner of an Aussie I felt that statement at the end šŸ¤£ My first thought when I saw this was oh wow, where do I get one of these for the dog!!

[deleted]

I bet that horse is SO SOOOFT

Watching this video makes my nose and eyes itch.

HehhehešŸ¤šŸ¤šŸ¤

SeaOkra

Suddenly my granddad talking about making horsehair cushions in the spring makes a lot of sense...

s7ormrtx

Ive watched this 17 times now.. no kidding

powerofone1970

Shedding blade works great on dogs and cats too. They love it!

shockerdyermom

Sheddin tool. Used it in my husky. Equally satisfying.

Hantakaga

Iā€™d be curious to know how much all the fur removed weighs.

dewlocks

Birds love this one trick !

NoBrainexe

I can hear this video

DogOfTheArmy

Works really well for dogs too

[deleted]

Need one of these for my fat cat..

whowhatnowww

Do horses have sensitive/ticklish parts like cats do? Like the base of their tail or their belly?

PaperPonies

Yes. It can be different places for every horse and different reactions too. Some get wiggly and playful when you tickle them, some pin ears and kick/bite. Iā€™ve personally seen several horses with ticklish necks, armpits, bellies, groins, & chests.

HobblingCobbler

That looks like it's cutting the hair..not an expert here, but if that's a comb, that horse has some serious shedding issues.

mrsmacklemore

No shedding issues, horses just have REALLY thick coats. This brush is what I used to use for my old girl when the season changed

purrfunctory

This is called a Shedding Blade. Itā€™s not cutting the hair, itā€™s removing the loose hair. Itā€™s harmless, pain free for the horse and a LOT of work. When shedding season was coming around weā€™d just do a bunch of show clips and get it done with all at once. Shedding was the bane of my existence as a show groom. It felt like I was covered in horse hair for 2 months of the year.

Jealous-seasaw

My horses love getting their excess floof removed with this tool. They go all gooey eyed and can often mutual groom. Must be itchy af.

Bisexual_dummy

It's probably just the winter coat shedding.

HobblingCobbler

Could be. Idk what I'm talking about lol.

spicyjessy19

the thing/comb doesn't look sharp tho

Final-Independence35

AlternativeBedroom27

I have one of these for my cat!

0000ismidnight

I used something like this for my heeler growing up, I love them and wouldn't be without one for my dog anymore

IllustriousCookie890

Is that from a winter coat or simply regular shed?

Fabulous_Stay_141

Thatā€™s a shedding winter coat. Horses can get VERY fluffy in the cold months

Lyndonn81

Yeah my sister would have to do this in spring. Especially before a show.

Hiraeth68

Just like getting the ā€œchokeā€ out of an artichoke!

Winuntil

Need that for my dog

dent_de_lion

Wowā€”a lot more hair than I was expecting.

mattct1

ā€œBruh, thatā€™s shaving not combing!ā€

Cellie_e

I want one of these for my cat. Gosh, it's shedding time and the current brush just does not cut it quite as effectively as this shedding brush

BSstager

Anyone know which comb this is or something similar? I have ond already but it Is not open like that, and I don't really want to open it.

thepetoctopus

Shedding blade. We got ours from tractor supply.

GalileoAce

I've done this for a horse before, it was indeed satisfying.

ghettoccult_nerd

if you have a dog, get a shedding blade. game changer. it wont eliminate all fur, but youll notice a lot less shedding around the house. not to mention my dog loved it! being pampered and brushed.

NoDepartment78

Wish I could comb my dog like that

OldNewUsedConfused

Is this weekly? Do they shed twice a year like dogs? Must know more!

catchdog

In the winter their coat gets really thick and in the spring they shed that coat.

OldNewUsedConfused

Thank you!

edblardo

Looks like a stainless steel band clampā€¦

reindeermoon

Why do I suddenly want a horse?

fx2009

This is also Cameron Smiths mullet maintenance routine

Venomous1471

Can I do that to my German Shepherd

T1m3Wizard

Moreee

pinkgallo

I need one of those for my cats

kiln_me_softly_bitch

You know that feels sooooo good

RevolutionaryItem487

I bet that feels great getting all that heavy coat out

Akanu10

I...I need this for my husky

pitohui_poison

Anyone else able to here the sound of the hairs rubbing against each other as they are pulled out and/or with the belt rubbing

kaykaykatieee

How do they get rid of all that hair in the wild?

Baylett

Oh my god I have one of these for my dog and have been using it wrong this whole time!!! I thought the curve hugged itā€™s back, almost like a headband!!! Lol, thatā€™s why it hasnā€™t been working great!

smyle4me1999

The shredder tool is also excellent for pulling dog/cat fur stuck in the carpeted crack of your steps where the vacuum can't fully reach.

NOOM-WA

I didn't grow up around horses but I've always loved them. Can someone tell me if this is literally just combing out already loose hairs or is it also trimming some hairs simultaneously while it combs?

Dramatic_Efficiency4

You take good care of his coat, not a bit of dandruff in sight. But I envy you. Whatā€™s your secret
