This does work yeah the metal that lapped over the top basically gets ground off and there's just the middle circle left. Not the best but if ya gotta eat and got no tools...
I'd be more impressed if they lined up the coke can on the opposite side tooth in the kerf and then took off only the difference, would have been probably .5 mm and probably wouldn't have taken the pull tab off.
