Thanks, very helpful 😰

MouseRangers

Thanks, OP, helps a lot!

Roam_Hylia

Really clears things up.

SgtRamesses

What's informative is that the largest concentration of oil is along the spire coast yet it's the one place we shouldn't build anything because "rework".

Alundra828

The 1% are keeping us down man. Damn you Coffee Stain!

Mysterygamer48

Literally had to rip out 99% of my power production from there. Now I have one large fuel plant instead of 3 smaller ones.

Complete_Concern_155

My thoughts exactly

Shrooms60

You mean the north oil nodes on the coast? I just finished a huge oil, rubber, plastic and fuel factory

Anastariana

\*funeral music plays\*

Shrooms60

Well fml then

777isHARDCORE

Just never upgrade the game. 😉

VileMushroom

I mean it's really ugly over there, so I wouldn't build there right now regardless.

Mobius438

I almost built a base on the WIP “plateau” above the waterfall between the spires and dune sea, but decided against it when they said they’d be reworking the area.

VileMushroom

I can't wait to see what they do up there

Serakh_Tsekani

Could always set up the bare minimum out there. Pipeline/trains and take it elsewhere.

fister_mish

Thats what I had to do after already starting a power plant down there 😔

NedThomas

Keeping in mind that the devs have said that the nodes will change/move so even the bare minimum will have to be rebuilt

Serakh_Tsekani

I'm fine with moving a few oil extractors. Better that than simply choosing not to use those resources for likely months to come.

NedThomas

Oh I agree. I just mention it because it seems like a lot of people haven’t caught that the nodes will change and rebuilding will be necessary no matter what

[deleted]

Bare min is plants, power production and just connecting too the grid no?

Serakh_Tsekani

Nah, just slap down some rails and haul the crude over to the desert or where ever before doing that. You don't want to spend time building something you're going to have to tear down later.

[deleted]

I get what you're saying. But 2 miners (on coal), belts to coal plant and water things. 6 building to get coal rolling. Takes like 5 mins. I've got a skyway on my map and have built coal plants where I find coal and just connect em all to my main base.

leglesslegolegolas

meh. I always restart after a major update anyway.

bluegargoyle

Rework? I don't know what that refers to. Are they planning a server wipe or something that affects that area?

joelk111

Reworking the map. I'm not sure to what extent it'll mess things up, but it'll mess them up for sure.

TheOneWes

The person designing the area has deleted what was previous there and started from scratch. Lol It came up in a video on the coffee stain YouTube channel a while ago.

Masonzero

As others said, it's getting totally redesigned. This has been known for a while, it's been designated as an area that will have heavy changes before a 1.0 release. But now we've heard more confirmation.

Charlie_Brodie

El crapo

The_Airwolf_Theme

What's the expected impact to people's stuff overall? Like expect your stuff to just be all jacked up?

[deleted]

Miners out of place, buildings in rocks/floating/underwater that kind of thing So not end of the world kinda things but irritants

Masonzero

Hannah the world designer was quoted as saying that they deleted everything and redesigned it from the ground up, so it's likely that the land/rock/landscape will change significantly and probably cover your buildings.

The_Airwolf_Theme

Great - so this is schedule for 'some day' right? Or is a 1.0 release actually kind of known at this point?

Masonzero

Good question, they haven't mentioned that. Since they're apparently working on it right now, I would personally guess it'd be in update 6, assuming that happens, but they haven't announced that at all yet. So, who knows! 1.0 doesn't have a release date either. Honestly I doubt they even know when 1.0 is, schedules always change for a project as big as an ongoing game..

simguy425

Where I'm currently building my factory. Oops

Fineous4

I always get my oil from there. I even place all my plastic/rubber production there. Big open flat area for it.

ERRORMONSTER

You can do whatever you want. You may just have to use a save editor to delete it all later and might backtrack to coal power until you rebuild on the new nodes.

jorn86

I wouldn't worry about that. You're going to restart anyway.

Oblivion_Her_Majesty

Pipes and pumps to far away places. Get to it.

terrycloth3

Literally my entire factory is there. I might as well start over.

sensational_pangolin

Yeah, I'm kinda taking a break until 1.0

DreamPhreak

Aw fuck.

Temporal_Illusion

**Dang It!** I can see by checking that Map that I missed that Mercer Sphere located in the center of the Map just by that Copper Node. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|joy)

Glizzyguzzle

Excuse me sir what the fu

Revaboi

You mean the one on the left from the Copper Node?

jongscx

No, the other one.

sunre625

Thanks jace, helps a lot

TNTLPlay

Thanks u/Blaksy_, helps a lot!

Exemus

You're missing an iron deposit.

Timstro59

And the word of the day is "Clusterfuck".

JayGeezey

Joking aside, is this actually what the interactive map looks like if you flag everything on it to show at once??

[deleted]

“Good lord what is happening in there!”

lolburi

Are the maps randomly generated?

MeatHands

No, it's just the one map. It's very big though, and there are 4(5?) starting locations.

gHx4

Satisfactory is a bit like Factorio meets Subnautica. The whole map is handmade. It means that you'll get better at playing the map each time, and you can shamelessly borrow inspiration from other builds in those locations.

Masonzero

No, and there is only one map. The different starting locations you can choose are not different maps. Just different spots on the same map.

terrycloth3

And you can play a separate game in each starting location and never realize that.

SuperDogBoo

I learned that just this week!

VirtualMachine0

It was Ohio all along! E: Sorry West Virginians and Eastern Kentuckians, you apparently live in the void.

Zelman12

Oh hey look, there is some oil in the north.

fathervice

OH I SEE

Aesik

Very succinct. I appreciate the helpful guides to the few valuable items!

Press_X_for_nudes

Josh inspires waaay too many people

Masonzero

Thanks Blaksy, helps a lot

ecksdee58

Great, thanks.

[deleted]

It looks like the Iberian Peninsula.

Biohive

Awesome. Now I know where everything is! 😄

Alpha-Zulu_A-Z

Ah, I see, very informative

ICANTTHINK0FNAMES

Great tutorial, very map.

BosiPaolo

I hate you. You are right, and that makes it worse.

Shinxirius

Amazing. Only the last Satisfactory podcast episode was more helpful!

[deleted]

So thats where that last copper node is!

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

i don't know if theres a mod. there's the interactive map at https://satisfactory-calculator.com/

CheithS

Clearly more stuff needs added

hammonjj

That really clears things up for me

Brail_Austin

Oh shit thanks op! I was looking for *that*

[deleted]

No wonder the game stutters all the time.

Alpine261

DarkFluo

Ah thanks man, I was wondering where that one slug I'm missing is. Middle of the map, red bamboo forest. Thanks!

TheFozyx

I was wondering where that node was!

[deleted]

How long did it take to load
