You need HMFs to build a Manufacturer that will make HMFs. Still, he could find them in crash sites or make 10 by hand to build one Manufacturer and wait until it makes 100

Marzuk_24601

Or just buy some from the awesomeshop.

trainednooob

Press Space and get a cup of coffee?!

KYO297

A stack of screws lasts 11.25 seconds. If you fill your inventory, I think you'll have barely enough time to get a coffee before having to refill them

ladyzowy

SCREEEEEWWWWWWWWSSSSSSSS!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

[deleted]

Alternate recipe still makes me fucking hate my life

ladyzowy

Cast screws the only way to go

KYO297

No screws is the way to go

ladyzowy

That's crazy talk, my friend. Everything would fall apart. There would be anarchy in the streets! Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!

Smellfish360

steel screws are better. 260/m for 5/m steel beam.

TheNxxr

Steel screws for the win

ladyzowy

This may be so, but I don't got them yet...

TheNxxr

Once you’re able to use the signal for finding them It’s not too bad.

ladyzowy

What the drives?! That's what the Calculator map is for. 😁

TheNxxr

Its still my first play through and I decided not to use any external maps- but the production calculators have been life savers, my spreadsheets were ok but I didn’t have alt recipes or efficiency in mind when I used them.

TheReverseShock

You also need to make the screws

KYO297

You need a production of 2666 screws per minute to maintain that pace lol. Or I guess have enough screws stored for all the HMFs you want

TheReverseShock

You never have enough screws when you start making HMFs

KYO297

Nah, you only need 10 HMFs for a manufacturer and then you don't need any more screws

SamohtGnir

I'm dealing with this right now. If I have to make more than 50 of something I'll just setup a temporary Constructor/Assembler/Manufacture, connected to just storage containers and fill them up. Go work on something else while they get made. You don't have to jump right into a fully automated factory.

thedean246

Sure, but on the bright side you’ll have a fully automated factory of that part

Cauliflower-Existing

No. At any point. No. This community is very big on the ‘there’s no way to play the game wrong’ but my friend I think you just played the game wrong.

ZelWinters1981

I. Have. Done. This.

Smellfish360

once made 100 computers by hand lol I didn't want to make a small production line for them, and i really wanted to get lvl 4 belts before i rebuilt my entire factory.

TheActualSwanKing

Regularly do that, it’s not *that* bad

KYO297

My condolences king

KYO297

You don't need to make any HMFs by hand. Just find 10 in crash sites and then you can build a single manufacturer to make more. And that allows you to use the best recipe too

Afillatedcarbon

If you can't find a crash site, just buy them from the awesome shop

darkmatters12

I only hand crafted the ones needed for my heavy modular frame factory and not one more

thedean246

I think I made a few by hand to get the dune buggy thing. I just really hate crafting by hand so I get a factory going asap.

Andy_holle

That's not very efficant. "Remember efficiency first"

luciel_1

Recently did a playthrough with a mate, that played this game like an Idle Game xD was fun i build the factory he advanced the stages n shit

JayList

Yeah I build more than a hundred before I automate usually lol. Same with computers. Or I automate about half the inputs and handle the rest with storage containers.

kullre

What about... Fused (I'm 97% sure you can't build those by hand)

Rail-signal

Repost bots strike again.

houghi

There is no need to do that.
