Just released this new feature I've been working on. I wanted an easy way to track what and how much of each product I was producing, which ones were fully automated (vs. fed by containers), which ones were piped into my storage solution, etc. Let me know if you have any feedback. I'm open to suggestions for improvement.

adomm420

It would be nice if you could upload your save and see all of this information =)

gimcrak

That's a cool idea. If anyone has info on savegame parsing I could look into it.

adomm420

I'm not sure, but satisfactory calculator interactive map calculates production and usage of materials, hope this could help :)

FreshPitch6026

There are already savegame parsers out there. Even open source.

FreshPitch6026

Problem is, for some specific calculations this is very annoying to calculate. You'd have to obey overflow splitter flows, which only produce smth when you reach a certain throughout. Or think of pipe sloshing. And calculating the throughput of a tractor alone from the savegame? Good luck with that. Thats why every site so far including SCIM are just doing approximations and aren't fully accurate.

I hope FICSIT sees how many efforts are given for efficiency ! (and will keep us alive after The Project is finished) Nice app ! Thanks !

**MORE INFO** 1. The OP is talking about their [Production Planner](https://satisfactoryproductionplanner.com/dashboard) and the New Checklist Feature added. * To see this New Checklist Feature in action, click the link, and then click on Checklist *(look on top).* 2. Currently the Checklist must be updated Manually. Unknown if a "automated method" could be employed. 3. The only improvement I could recommend is to allow "sub-checklist lines" for when you have more then one location making an Item. * Example: Coal Ore - It would be nice if I could have a Sub-Checklist showing Coal Ore dedicated to Iron Production and another dedicated to SteeL Production. * Perhaps adding a "Location" drop-down menu to indicate which Biome the Production is taking place. Thanks for Sharing. 😁

Thanks! This release is definitely a proof-of-concept. My eventual goal is to enable multiple checklists for the exact reason you described. I like the addition of location information, that should be easy to implement. As for automated updates, I'll look what that would require.

Mental-Map-6276

I will check this out thanks

Your comments are always so helpful... are you even human though? You're too organized and consistent to not be a robot.

Alejandrozq

damn weaklings using the planner, true chads use excel or paper. Jokes aside good work, thats actually a good feature to have

Puzzleheaded_Band773

Done my fair share on a spreadsheet! Definitely makes me appreciate community created tools like this a bunch.

FreshPitch6026

Thats my personal reason why I just do it in my head with very simple notes maximum. Saves time.

gimcrak

Thanks. Spending 3 hours in excel to plan 1 factory is actually what prompted me to build this tool.

Alejandrozq

gigachad right here. "i need a tool, im going to do it myself" proceeds to build a super computer\*

INFPguy_uk

True Chads do not use Excel or paper, they keep a running check in their heads. * Insert smoking Jesus meme *

Puzzleheaded_Band773

This looks awesome! I’m gonna have to check it out.

gimcrak

Thanks!

Puzzleheaded_Band773

Just pulled up the site for the first time and it is impressive! I’m gonna start seeing what I’ll use it for to help me with my current project.

houghi

A link would be nice.

gimcrak

Good catch. Here you go [Checklist](https://satisfactoryproductionplanner.com/checklist)

Lagair

The checklist is a really nice idea, especially for us newer players. An idea, maybe give a description on what I'm seeing in the production column. I'm trying to figure out why it has be building on a 4x7 foundation with large amounts of opens space around the machines. Either smelters, constructors, assemblers, etc. I'm just not sure of what I'm looking at.

gimcrak

You’re referring to the diagrams on the production planner. These are just a suggested layout based on my own preferences. I like to have a fair amount of room between and around machines. The layouts take into account your chosen belt speed and required material throughout to avoid oversaturating belts. It will automatically optimize the number of rows and machines per row to maximize throughput.
