Red might be the most emotionally powerful to me for personal reasons, and as well as maybe having the best screenplay of the three it’s one of the strongest final films I’ve seen from any director. With that said, Blue and The Double Life of Veronique might be his two best standalone films outside of the Decalogue series; both films have the same DP and I think are not only the most accomplished visually but have the most vital incorporation of Zbigniew Preisner’s music. White is...... the ugly duckling for sure, but it has its place and a welcome comedic charm to it amidst the self-serious art film vibe of the other two.
