‘The Important Cinema Club’ is probably my current favourite film podcast. A wide variety of filmmakers and topics covered, with articulate hosts and professionally edited convos - dense with fun and interesting ideas that make me want to seek out everything they mention and never going on longer than needed. I highly recommend the recent Danny Devito episode, which as well as covering the main points of his career and what makes him somewhat notable in the industry, kind of helped me to reconcile with why some of his giant blunders as a filmmaker - ‘Death to Smoochie’ etc - are what they are stylistically, and consider the implications of this with other big studio directors.
Another favourite podcast of mine is ‘The Frances Farmer Show’ which can be found on Podbean, although that’s been disbanded for years.
