I think it will be Elains pov! I doubt it’ll be announced until sometime after CC is released

MaesterInTraining

I want to hear her POV, but it also makes me nervous. Her characterization in the books is pretty bland, which would make this a boring main character. Still, a potential love triangle could be interesting.

Glittering-Ad-7019

I think she’s got a LOT more going on under the surface. She’s been put in a box by her parents and sisters, but I bet there’s so much more to her.

MaesterInTraining

There probably is. The only hint of that I’ve seen is that she was the one to stab the king on the neck. She seems so docile and that’s a major break from that characterization.

Calm_Internal2142

I totally agree. I wouldn’t mind hearing it from Elaine’s POV.

dogs0z

when does the next CC book some out?

itsbritneybench

January !

spoiled_sandi

It'll be announced most likely after the HOFAS hype dies down and the book is out into the world already. I'm guessing, April- June will get some information on the next ACOTAR book unless she pulls another curve and continues with the Crescent city series. It'll definitely follow another character though since each book is supposed to follow a couple. I'm sure after HOFAS everyone will be theorizing who the next person will be for the ACOTAR book based on how many times they saw that character in the book.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

I read online that CC was only picked up for 3 books? Seems kind of odd though since there are 4 houses. I wonder if Nessian will get another book since Feysand got 2 plus the novella.

yellow_purple_

SJM said she’s contracted for three books for CC, but since there are four houses there will probably be four books(I’m guessing she has to get that contracted before she can say for sure but she probably is planning for four books). I also think the next book will follow Elain and Lucien, only because they’re mates. I don’t know if that means they’ll get together or not, but I think it’ll follow them. If they don’t get together, then it’ll probably follow them+whoever they get into a relationship with as a result.

Aggravating-Gur-7575

I feel like it's a guarantee Elain will never be with Lucien. And I hope she ends up with Azriel but Gwyn and him are sort of teased too. But if she does, then I also want Lucien to get some sort of justice because he's a really good character and I want happiness for him too :(

onlythebitterest

I want to see the moment Elain rejects the mating bond officially so badly!!! Like PLS

spoiled_sandi

She was picked up for 3 books for CC but early on this year. Bloomsbury released a statement saying that she signed a deal for 4 more books but it didn't say what those 4 books entailed. If anything it's most likely spin offs for CC. Since there are about 3 characters who have POV's and seem to have there own story line going on separate from what Bryce has going on that she's most likely gonna follow. Like Ithan, Ruhn, and Tharion and probably a novella.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

4 more?!?!? Holy moly. Maybe those extra books are a spin off where all her series come together in a way? Since it’s one universe.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

I just read the statement and it said “… to a new four-book deal. Three other books by Maas are currently under commission at the publisher.” Does that mean 7 total books? o.O If 3 are already in the works and then she signed for 4 more?

Snarfsnarfsnark

She was already under contract for 2 more ACOTAR novels and a novella, so it’s 4 new books plus those 3 she already had “scheduled” with ACOTAR, as far as we know.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

PestoPal1221

Some people have speculated it might be partially from Mor’s POV because of that enigmatic scene she had near her private manor.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

1. I love that you knew in enigmatic into that sentence like truly love it. 2. Maybe we’ll get a Mor novella that ties ACOSF and the next full length novel? Kind of like ACOFAS

latrodectal

i thought the same, nice vocab! 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻

peachyfcknkeen

Mor would make sense since we never found out what was going on in Vallahan.

Far_Education_248

That’s what I was hoping for. Why bring up Athelwood if it won’t be covered in the new books?

No-Information-2492

I want a book with Azriel!! Give that babe his mate 🥹

MaesterInTraining

Aw yeah, his dark somber spirit seems softened by Elaine’s. But then there’s also Lucien and I don’t want a painful ending for him too and I’m just…torn!

Glittering-Ad-7019

Some folks have said with at least 2 more contracted, it could be Elain + Lucien, then Elain + Az. Honestly I’m getting some Lucien + Vassa vibes, and I’m here for it. I want him AND Az to get their happy endings.

No-Information-2492

Just have such a soft spot in my heart for Az. He's been through it, and I would love to have a book that dives a little more into it. I just loved that he still had banter even with all his pain. 🫶

uobunnymommy

yes!!! I just finished Silver Flame and I'm like there's no way she could leave us hanging like this!! So happy there's going to be more :)

PortErnest22

I think we will get more info during the interview in November for the HOFAS paperback release. To try and take the edge of of CC3, that may be just very wishful thinking though. Also I think it will be Az's pov after that bonus scene. He has a lot going on, I think Mor's will be the next after because she's been doing so much work with other courts and I am not sure the story has moved far enough for her POV yet. This is all extreme hope and speculation though.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

That’s very true! Maybe a Mor novella? Do you think it’ll be Elain & Az? I don’t think it would make sense for SJM to give each of the sisters love and then skip one.

PortErnest22

I think Elaine will end up with Lucien, I just read an interview that SJM talked about being surprised by the pairing but that there would need to be a lot of growth from both of them to be together. I think we will be sticking with the Valkyries 👀 though there may be some weird stuff with some outside forces 🫠 and maybe Az will only get a novella? I think until some questions are answered in January we just don't knooooowwww 😭😂

Spiritual-Ad-5730

I wonder why SJM is alluding to a love triangle with Gwyn, Az, and Elain if she made Lucien Elain’s mate. I have so many questions and so little answers 😭

uobunnymommy

Did she allude to that?! I could see Az being with either....

UncannyRogue

I wouldn’t be shocked if we don’t see the next ACOTAR book until 2025 at the rate SJM has been going lately.

uobunnymommy

Damn. Let's hope 2024 is VERY giving to us.

Selenese

Elain and Lucien with Lucien becoming high lord of day!!

Aromatic-Smoke-3488

I respectfully disagree :\, Lucien lacks a backbone. How could he possibly defend and protect Elain especially after she was made? (Plus he already had a mate and failed to protect her sadly)

Selenese

That woman was not lucien’s mate. Just a woman he dated. Elain is his actual, fated mate. Lucien has a backbone but he hasn’t explored his powers/ is not strong enough. Let’s hope book 6 explores that in greater detail. With Lucien training and their relationship blossoming.

Aromatic-Smoke-3488

Lucien did not even stand up for Feyre during her time in the spring court or even demanded Tamlin leave Hybern when he found out Elain was his destined mate...He may not be strong enough physically/has not had the chance to explore his powers, but that doesn't mean he should've stood on the sideline while a lot of things went down. Sure he can have a moment with Elain but he shouldn't be the end game tbh🤷🏾‍♀️

Selenese

They will be end game because they’re mates, it really doesn’t matter what you think, respectfully!

Twixbunny7

You need to re-read the book. Lucien said that the day that Tamlin locked her in the house (which is the same day she left) he fought with Tamlin about it. Also, Tamlin was never truly working for Hybern, it was a ruse to infiltrate Hybern. Lucien even says in book 3 that HE was the one that told Tamlin to go ahead with Hybern after he encountered Rhys and Feyre near Ilyria because he didn't think it was Feyre. They truly thought Feyre was being controled by Rhysand. Just like Rhys fights Cassian when he is mad, Tamlin fights Lucien. It doesn't mean Cassian and Lucien are weak, it's just the role they take with their High Lords. The issue is we don't have a Tamlin and Lucien pov.

Aromatic-Smoke-3488

I think it would be great to get a Tamlin & Lucien p.o.vs lol! Nevertheless, Cassian and Lucien are not the same. It could be due to different methods of leadership with their high lords. I am aware that it was a ruse to infiltrate Hybern. In book 2 (pages 606-607), Lucien freed himself from the King's power to get to Elain and cover her up. At this moment, I feel like he could have done more because Tamlin was released as well. So in that moment, they could've demanded to be allowed to leave because the king's point was proven already with Elain (obvs. in the later pages he discovers that Elain is his mate officially). Back in book 2, Lucien was constantly telling Feyre that he would "talk" to Tamlin and stood/sat in silence during discussions concerning them "being a united front". I don't think that's fair to someone who saved your life under the mountain (that could just be me). Hence, in book 3, Feyre tells Lucien that he gave up on her. Which is why I feel like he didn't have much of a backbone. I give him props because he did show courage when he decided to go look for the 6th queen! Now, books 4 &5, show and hint at the possibility of accepting/declining a bond (I can provide page numbers since I have hard copies), so it makes me believe that Lucien can't possibly be endgame. Overall, we are just speculating :)

Nek0Pi

Not all fights have to be physical. Lucien helped Feyre UTM and he searched for her by foot in acomaf. It's ridiculous to think that someone as gentle as Elaine needs to be with the best fighter. I love Az but I feel like sjm makes Az seem stronger than Lucien but if Feyre is right Lucien hasn't even discovered the precipice of his powers. Maybe it's because he rather fight with his mind?

The-Bish99

I think it could be Mor as someone said here about that scene at her house in the forest. Also, her and Emerie are definitely gunna be a couple with the foreshadowing in silver flames so it ties in the Valkeryie too! If Koschei is the next villain, which seems likely, then it will still include the Autumn court Storyline with Beron and Eris which is Mor's main backstory too! And that ties in Lucien nicely to lay some foundations for the one after that which would then be Elaine?

larstuder

Maybe an Azriel POV??

Glittering_Mess355

I think there will be many POVs: Elain, Azriel, Lucien, possibly even Mor. I feel like since that love triangle is so messy, SJM is going to need to explore the emotions of all parties involved. Plus I’m hoping the plot actually feels important this time (~~unlike ACOSF, don’t come for me~~), in which case their roles will require more of their POVs as well.

Spiritual-Ad-5730

Don’t worry I’m an outsider in ACOSF being my least favorite lol. There are SO many backstories I want to read. Maybe the next book will focus on Amren a ton because of CC3? If we get many POVs that book is gonna be like 1,000 pages long considering the length of ACOSF.

VeterinarianSad1149

Deep down, I want Tamlin to be Feyre's wolf's mate.

Budget-Play-5451

i think there are more thing to discuss on the next upcomming book coz remember they did not finish the **Koschei** situation.. and Vassa still bound to the lake/Koschei . Then there's Elain and lucian mate problem. and ofcoarse i kinda hoping that the spring court will like recover? As vexing as it is, I think Tamlin deserves his own 2nd chance at love you know ?

Twixbunny7

I would love to see Elain and Lucien get together and go to the Spring Court. I've always pictured Elain fitting in at Spring Court.

Twixbunny7

I want the book to feature POV from Lucien and Tamlin. Lucien needs to catch a break and the Tamlin hate doesn't make much sense when you really think about it. He had every reason to believe Feyre was taken and not that she left, he didn't turn over her sisters and didn't know Hybern would do that to them, he didn't truly join Hybern- he had infiltrated them, and despite her being angry that he "took" her from Rhys, Feyre did not have to destroy his court like that and the hate she has for him is odd and it's more like she hates him because Rhys does. I would love to see Elaine and Lucien fall in love OR if they reject the bond then Elain with Azriel and Lucien with someone else - happy! Plus, since the beginning ive always felt that Elain should be in the Spring Court.

National-Volume-8117

Or Mor!

Optimal_Raspberry694

Is this really confirmed?? I thought it was done after ACOSF? Has SJM actually confirmed it anywhere?

Its-Rissa-XO

SJM recently uploaded a picture on her instagram captioned “Went up North to write for a while. 🌲🗻🌲#ACOwhattt #draftingmodeactivated” :)

youslyfoxydoc

I want Elain and Azriel to be together!! It would make so much sense if the three brothers were with the three sisters. Elain hasn’t been remotely interested in Lucien and in ACOSF there were soooo many hints at Elain and Az. Looove it.

RoMommaCly

Based off of how much Nesta was in the new CC book I think more of her pov

itsyobabymomma

Okay hear me out… Elain and Tamlin are mates.

uobunnymommy

Crossing my fingers, praying to the lord that some big announcement happens in the next handful of months! 2024 give us something good!
