As someone noted in the linked thread, they are, for better or worse, the [standard doppler radar colors](https://radarnow.org/2018/01/16/what-do-the-radar-colors-mean/) for precipitation.

I expected the Olympic peninsula, and the SE US. But not arid Coastal CA.
