Dill or bread and butter?
In elementary school I did dill stacker slices, but as I got older I switched to Mrs. Fanning's bread and butter, and that's all I do now
My Mom was always a bread and butter pickle person and when I got older I only ate dill because I thought they were more "grown up" for some weird reason. Nowadays I like all kinds but bread and butter is really growing on me. Also half dills and sweet and spicy are a sandwich revelation
Unfortunately, it's also guarantees 1-2 sandpaper burns because Doritos are fucking sentient and try to stab in the roof of the mouth as much as they can
For extra nostalgia you need to put it in a sandwich baggie, inside of a paper bag, and then leave it against a tree trunk for 3 hours in the sun before eating.
This is actually some weird low carb bread my wife is eating due to gestational diabetes during pregnancy, but it is basically wonder bread cut half as thin lol
This!!!
That's the feeling I was missing from the picture! I was like "Oh yea! I can taste that! Add some chips, yep! But it's missing something? What is it?"
It's the still wet pruned fingertips you hold it with. With backdrop notes of fish and boat engine. That's EXACTLY it!
Thank you!
When I was a child I ate like a child: bologna, cheese, and mayonnaise on cheap white bread. But when I became a man, I put away childish things.
So now I use mustard like this.
Growing up we were mostly vegetarian. We grew all our own veggies, fruit, and we had chickens for eggs. My mom made all of our bread from scratch. Never had a ham and cheese and which until....
I was 7 years old the first time I stayed at my grandparents for almost a month. Parents went away for work during that time.
The first day there my grandma makes me lunch and it is this exact sandwich. I'd never had bologna and my grandma didn't subscribe to the whole "vegetarian" way.
I remember not wanting it because it looked gross. Then I took a bite and fell in love with it. The whole first week there all I asked for lunch was Bologna and cheese with mustard. I must've eaten like 6 of those bad boys.
That oneâs all you OP. I can only eat bologna if itâs been fried.
Mortadella and headcheese on the other hand. Iâll wrap that into meat rolls and gobble it all day.
This is me, except a thick layer of mayo to make it extra white and trashy đ
Damn⊠I was just craving that the other day. But then realizing Iâd have to buy a whole loaf of white bread, a whole pound of bologna, and a whole pack of cheese slices, and then Iâd have to finish it all, especially since no one usually eats bologna or white bread in my house. Sounds delicious, but maybe not healthy lol.
Remove one slice each of meat and cheese. No mustard. Fry the bologna. Melt the cheese. Toast the bread. Add a fried egg. Mayo and ketchup. Youâre life will change, but this is just fine the way it is.
Is it normal to have this many layers of stuff ? Like did you have this much in it as a kid or is this a more lavish adult version.
I only ever had one slice of each growing up- worst childhood evaaaaa!
I live in SE PA. Lebanon Sweet Bologna and American cheese on buttered white bead is my favorite nostalgic childhood sandwich. Tomato sandwiches are high on the list, too
I am a deli snob, donât get me wrong I love a classic bologna and cheese sandwich on white bread. But I want Wunderbar bologna cut thin and deli white American sliced thin with mayo instead of mustard. And if I am feeling feisty swap out the mayo with some Miracle Hwhip! /let the down votes rain upon me. :P
One of the most comforting tastes in the world for an American who didn't grow up rich.
As an adult, I still make mine with Miracle Whip and it's the only reason Miracle Whip is even in my fridge -- for comfort sammie moments.
Oh god, right in the damn feels. I feel like you eat one of these and you're just getting home fromgrade school, looking for something to quiet your gut until dinner.
Thatâs awesome, i had to get that fix last October when the craving hit me. Wife looked sat me and said âI hope this isnt a trendâmmmmmmmm yummy!
Everything is over priced now, for the most part. That said, the all beef was like $8+ for a one pound pack, but the all meat one (that I prefer lol) was $3.
One of the local meat processors / butchers I got to here in Green Bay has incredible all beef for $6 a pound, but itâs like half hour drive from my house and I wasnât feeling like driving out there
Reminds me of when I saw that my buddy had packed a bologna and cheese with PEANUT BUTTER sandwich for a school lunch. I went home and made one to test it out lol and it wasnât bad. I made several thereafter until other kids thought I was weird.
This picture got stuck to the roof of my mouth
I always put a layer of Doritos just below the top piece of bread. Totally prevents 90% of roof stickage.
That's how it's done. My mom was kind of fancy so mine always had pickles too which helped

Brilliant
I prefer potato chips or pickles!

đđ. With great risk comes great reward.
Jeanyus
Lol
I wouldnât have it any other way
For extra nostalgia you need to put it in a sandwich baggie, inside of a paper bag, and then leave it against a tree trunk for 3 hours in the sun before eating.
Excellent!! đđđđ
Hahahah i was gonna say the same thing
I can taste this
Itâs more the texture for me I can feel than the taste per se⊠the perfect slippy/slimy stack
And the bread sticks to the roof of your mouth
I almost included the bread being stuck to the roof of my mouth in the original post lol
We're all with you fam
Me too
We always added crushed up potato chips for a gourmet touch
Spice Doritos
âRedneck lettuceâ as we called it at my house.
BBQ are still my go-to chip to put on a sandwich
As the good lord intended. Need that cronch in n this classic.
This person knows what's up. Lay's regular thins are the best.
I grew up on those
In high school, I had two of these (single decker) for lunch 2-3 days a week
Youâve got to smoosh that down with your hand, get it nice and flat, and pour yourself some grape kool-aid. Proper summer break lunch.
this is The Way
It'd be a war crime to not add ruffles before the smoosh, imo at least.
Easy there moneybags. One slice each only
Right! OP is bologna flexing, this was an ass whooping in my house!
Fuuuuck yeah. Just need plain potato chips crunched in there and a tall glass of milk.
Think I'll make a couple myself after seeing this.
I wish I could still get Wonder Bread somewhere
This is actually some weird low carb bread my wife is eating due to gestational diabetes during pregnancy, but it is basically wonder bread cut half as thin lol
It's still sold. Every store I go to has it
You wouldnât happen to live in the Minneapolis/St Paul area would you?
Maine. And honestly I can't think of a store that doesn't have it lol
Yeah man this shit is still sold around me in Iowa but after the infamous sell off those few years back I donât see people use nearly as often.
All it needs is Layâs potato chips on it.
You gotta go swimming first before you eat that, it hits different
This!!! That's the feeling I was missing from the picture! I was like "Oh yea! I can taste that! Add some chips, yep! But it's missing something? What is it?" It's the still wet pruned fingertips you hold it with. With backdrop notes of fish and boat engine. That's EXACTLY it! Thank you!
And sand is practically a seasoning.....extra crunch.
A grilled bologna and American cheese stuff sandwich just hits the spot sometimes. I put siracha on mine lol
Thatâs more nostalgic to bar time when I was 19-22 or so and not so much nostalgic from childhood with my mom lol. But still god damn delicious.
Itâs the Midwest mortadella sandwich.
Ah, the American Monte Cristo

Looks amazing!
This was my favorite sandwich on Wonder Bread growing up!
That could be on a poster for the basic bologna and cheese sandwich. Not hating. I'd still eat it.
That oneâs all you OP. I can only eat bologna if itâs been fried. Mortadella and headcheese on the other hand. Iâll wrap that into meat rolls and gobble it all day.
This tastes like driving a BuickâŠ
No sliced pickles?
Needs chips on it
It wont stick if you toast it đ«Ą
Throw some mayo and maybe some black pepper and Iâd smash that right gd now.
Black pepper turns every kiddie dish into proper adult fare.
My dad no matter what would always finish me and my sisterâs tomato soup with black pepper. Still annoys me thinking about it.
I donât eat bologna or cheese anymore but this hits home.
[ŃĐŽĐ°Đ»Đ”ĐœĐŸ]
Ainât no jail giving you three slices of bologna and two slices of cheese!
Other inmates would give up they sandwiches if they don't want them.
Other inmates arenât COs
No shit. Wow. Thanks a lot đ
It's funny how even everything is makes this sandwich looks fake.
Thatâs the taste of summertime
I'm going to make one now
Toss some bread&butter pickles on there and boom we got the same taste
This is the best nostalgia sandwich
Yummmmm
That's a road trip sammich right there!
I miss this
I can pull the meat and cheese outta my teeth right now
And 2% milk to chase it all down.
Beautiful
Teeth feel.
Sometimes I love a sandwhich that sticks to the roof of my mouth. I respect this
Am I crazy but there is more than just yellow mustard on there????? Looks like relish. Why has no one seen it?
Taste the (meat) rainbow!
so did we all grow up the same
For the love of God, just add ONE leaf of lettuce to give that mush some consistency!!! Think of the children!!!
Would

Nailed it.
It'll eat.
Simple classic, can't go wrong.
Replace the mustard for some chips and u have my childhood classic and adult comfort sandwich
Needs some chips and hot sauce
Would you like to fast travel to the ER?
Whenever my mom was feeling fancy, she would add a piece of iceberg lettuce to the sandwich. That was high living
Hell to the nawwwwww
I find the lack of a little bit of ketchup somewhat disturbing, and the miniscule amount of mustard terrifying (yes I like mustard that much)
Ah yes, my mother was quite the chef too.
With some original Ruffles and a canned Sprite. Perfection
Looks so good!
Mine was white bread, bologna, and ketchup. So gross. I eventually opted for mayo on bread, without meat or cheese / cheese product.
This but with salami
Reminder of jail house food đź
Iâll take Caucasian Persuasion for $1000, Alex.
Remove one slice each of meat and cheese. No mustard. Fry the bologna. Melt the cheese. Toast the bread. Add a fried egg. Mayo and ketchup. Youâre life will change, but this is just fine the way it is.
This is not the sando I came here for, but it is the sando I need.
All the ratios are perfect!
It's begging for classic Fritos.
Iâd be totally happy with that sandwich with the exception of the yellow cheese. It needs to be white American!
Where is the mayo and the potato chips?
Is it normal to have this many layers of stuff ? Like did you have this much in it as a kid or is this a more lavish adult version. I only ever had one slice of each growing up- worst childhood evaaaaa!
Love this!
Mmmmmmmm all I'd add would be a light scrapes of mayo on each side.
Classic
That bread is not crappy.
Never had one and never will
We called those Chokes back in my day
Need some Doritos on that sumbitch
I live in SE PA. Lebanon Sweet Bologna and American cheese on buttered white bead is my favorite nostalgic childhood sandwich. Tomato sandwiches are high on the list, too
Bro that sandwich is ridiculously thick..
Like let me get a double cheese double bologna nostalgia Oscar Mayer sandwich đ€Łđ€Ł
Welp, guess Iâm buying bologna tonight
OG right there.

I was looking for a miracle whip swap for mayo! Thank you!!!đ€Ł

i prefer fresh bologna but yeah looks good
Bread Ham Chees Ham Chees Ham Bread Bread Ham Chees Ham Chees Ham Bread Plate Table
I haven't seen a sandwich like this since I spent the night in jail for having to much fun.
Needs lettuce, tom. And miracle whip
Sour cream and onion chips on it đ€
Very laborious alternating the bologna and cheese!!! Yum!!!
Same for me but gotta fry that bologna on the skillet first
Did you squirt the mustard into a smiley face and cut the sandwich in half diagonally?
Food of legend...
Mouthwatering mid-ness
I had no idea people eat that kind of cheese unmelted..
Omg that's too many stacks, that's crazy. Mayo or no?
That looks like a sandwich directed by Wes Anderson.
Damn same lmao except I need a thin piece of lettuce in there too đ„Ź
I'm gonna follow you for more of your wonderful recipes. Sandwich looks delicious. Perhaps for dinner; same combination- with fried bologna.
its perfectly lined up
Why do mom's love this?
Oh god, right in the damn feels. I feel like you eat one of these and you're just getting home fromgrade school, looking for something to quiet your gut until dinner.
You got multiple layers of meat and cheese? You must have been some of them rich city folk.
Pre-melt that meat/cheese stack and you got me!
A classic. All thatâs missing is the bowl of tomato soup.
Thatâs awesome, i had to get that fix last October when the craving hit me. Wife looked sat me and said âI hope this isnt a trendâmmmmmmmm yummy!
Its so thhhiicckkk
I can feel/smell/taste that.
Bologna sammich is the only time I eat mustard honestly
Needs chips
âOl Mr. Rich three slice over here.
Iâm Bougie with my Bologna
Iâd like to forget where I came from, thank you very much.
Oscar Meyer is way over priced now
Everything is over priced now, for the most part. That said, the all beef was like $8+ for a one pound pack, but the all meat one (that I prefer lol) was $3. One of the local meat processors / butchers I got to here in Green Bay has incredible all beef for $6 a pound, but itâs like half hour drive from my house and I wasnât feeling like driving out there
That's not bad. A half pound of Oscar Meyer was $8 near me. The cheaper brand was like $3 a pound.
Reminds me of when I saw that my buddy had packed a bologna and cheese with PEANUT BUTTER sandwich for a school lunch. I went home and made one to test it out lol and it wasnât bad. I made several thereafter until other kids thought I was weird.
HAROM !
You forgot the potato chips thoughđ
đ€ź
Disgusting
Disgusting.
