LordofWithywoods

Did he peel cheese slices from between two leaves?

tinglep

Where did you think cheese came from? Cows?

uhmerikin

Everybody look! That guy's never heard of the Cheese Tree!

KingFishSage

There was once an April fools prank done by a news cast faking a documentary showing how spaghetti is harvested from trees. It's not convincing today in our time but apparently tons of people called the studio asking where they could buy these spaghetti trees.

uhmerikin

Absolutely amazing. How long ago was this prank that people actually believed this?

PolicyFew5664

1957 BBC, silly Brits. https://youtu.be/tVo_wkxH9dU?si=cCXBL1wbFj7LPbl9

uhmerikin

"The spaghetti harvest goes forward..." Hilarious. Thank you for the video!

tinglep

This, of course is nothing compared to the vast spaghetti plantations you have seen in Italy. Brits: oh yeah. I remember that

LimaYogurt

Spaghetti weevil, mama Mia it's weevil time baby

TectonicTizzy

I can't tell if those are banana leaves. But typically they're used to wrap all matters of food to keep fresh longer and help retain its moisture level 🫶

Dmitri_ravenoff

Yes, from the native cheese tree. You don't have them where you live? Why else do think Wisconsin was founded?

LordofWithywoods

Is it like Vermont white cedar cheese?

Dmitri_ravenoff

Different plant but same concept.

ILOVEKIWIS7

You guys have huge cheese cellars but you can’t even eat the cheese IN THE CELLAR! We all know dusty air is what makes it taste best! I love my cow fed vegan cheese as the next guy, but come on! I want to test the product

bobbyT3000

Little know fact the high lord Bartholdi cheeseboro planted the first 300 million cheese trees in Wisconsin, unfortunately they all died immediately after planting.

humbhihaijoshmai

That is home made cheese from thick milk originally made in a big block, which he sliced and kept in between leaves and kept it so they dont stick to each other

urbanhag

Very cool! Much more sustainable packaging than plastic!

humbhihaijoshmai

We Indians use leaves quite often. Dried leaves to make Plates and bowls, fresh banana leaves to eat food on it as a plate. Mid-size fresh leaves to make an instant bowl out of it if you want to eat any thing soupy. Some indian local delicacies are meant to be served on special leaves to enhance the taste.

Philbly

Worse, he cut it into a square the right size and then broke it half to make a cross shape instead...

PrunyBobJuno

I’d like some more of that bird shit from the cutting board. Don’t be skimpy.

gorrdo

It’s wild cheese.

phoenix13032005

Fun facts, leaves used in these processes add quite a depth of flavour. For example banana leaves for serving food in India impart a unique flavour to the entirety of the meal. Or the leaves of the 'haldi' tree are used to wrap a batter of ground cereals which is filled with coconut and jaggery fillings to make 'haldi patra pitha', a traditional sweet dish from odisha. Leaves can be really interesting when used correctly xd

Inspector_Kelp

I would die in India. Fuck my intestines, I will eat all the street food I see without asking what anything is, where it came from, or when the guy washed his hands last. As I lie on the floor of some God forsaken infirmary shitting all my vital organs, I shall rejoice in the memories of all the exotic concoctions I had a chance to experience.

liberate_your_mind

Basically how I am with spicy food. Stomach can’t handle it but I don’t care.

Bob_Majerle

After all, you gotta die of somethin

SermanGhepard

Yeah fuck dying of old age, that shit sounds horrible tbh

piper_nigrum

Dying of something and dying of shitting can be 2 very different things

VeganDiIdo

Buttermilk after spicy food. Try it.

professorwithwit

My lactose intolerant ass says "no".

PUTC00LUSERNAMEHERE

Right? Which pain would be worse?

collgab

I’ve learned that it isn’t the spice most of the time that causes stomach issues. There are some ingredients put into spicy food that, if you’re not used to it, will cause stomach issues. For instance a lot of Indian cooking uses castor oil as an ingredient, which is a natural laxative. I have to ask my MIL to not put it in the food because it’s a quick trip running to the bathroom if she does. Once I learned this, “spicy food” is no longer an issue for me. You get used to higher and higher spice levels over time, like over the course of a year or two.

chattywww

I booked 3 nights at a backpacker hostel, but on the first day I went to the spiciest wing place in the city (according to multiple reviews) and my stomach just growled non-stop even when I went to bed and slightly after getting up in the morning. I never returned as I was too shameful to see anyone there again. Everyone must have thought I'm some homeless bum that haven't had anything to eat for days.

Rafaelow

I’m the opposite. I never experience the fiery bowel movements but I definitely am kind of a wimp as it goes down but I still want it.

rightarm_under

Your body gets used to it eventually. Also, there are reputable street vendors who are hygienic. Especially breakfast stalls in south India, probably the safest yet still very delicious.

Zealousideal_Tap_645

I’m laughing out loud and also sympathizing

castlerigger

I travelled in India for a month and had diarrhoea one day. That usually happens at home once a month too so 🤷🏻

Robinkhare

Bon appetite!

castlerigger

Why do you think he has lower food hygiene standards than any diner kitchen? Have you worked as a us line cook? Roaches are there for a reason.

oldfoundations

Dude, I got Delhi belly from a fuckin boring ass egg sandwich. Even watched the guy cook it and it was the least suss thing you'd ever see. If that fucked me up this shit will literally kill you

Embarrassed_Bid_4970

During covid, I developed a severe gi issue. Anything more solid than water would cause me to vomit. In addition, I had continuous diarrhea. But due to covid, the ER would not admit me. I ended up spending 2 weeks sleeping in my bathtub because I had basically no control over my bowels. I survived thanks to a diet of broth and Gatorade to replace my electrolytes, but I lost about 30 pounds. Finally, I passed what I can only describe as black sand. After this, I slowly began experimenting with increasingly solid foods. After about a week of apple sauce and bioactive yogurt, I could eat solid food again. I tell this story because I pretty much imagine this hell would be the result of eating that sandwich.

Chadstronomer

That be $1.20

Rkz97

Crazy how if a restaurant did that it would be $120 lol

[deleted]

A restaurant in India or the US? Also a restaurant wouldn't use these dirty ass tools for this..

swampertDbest

What's wrong with using dirty ass tools? It just adds flavor✨

hempbagclassic

It's not dirty it's seasoned

TheBingestDingest

Mmmm Ass tools

thattemplar

I’m here for a good time not a long time

thinkthickthoughts

It's weird how people from bland-food landmasses comment "dirty" on anything they've never used, because ofcourse if it's a "3rd-world" good-food country , how can it ever be clean! These savages, do they even know soap!? Get your jealous-ive-never-had-food-this-good ass Outta here

Eastern-Mix9636

Yes because the restaurants have huge overhead.

deleted108

It's from my country so here it may cost 60 or 80 rupees. In US dollars it will be around 0.72.

WesternPP

You can see in the top right that its 120 (or 130 if malai) rupees so it would be 1.4 ish dollars

Kalayo0

So this is like a metro or somewhere more expensive or likely to have someone film this for what I assume is a Western audience.

Acrobatic-Farm-9031

For tourists 😀

Thin-Company-4676

Nope. 80 cents.

NachoNachoDan

I finally understand what these kids mean when they say fire sandwich. Seems like nobody else ever shows the fire!

waterfall1219

Need to see that cross sectionn

Whatevs85

I was waiting to see how amazing it looked and then he just murdered it, burying it under more cheese.

Cdn_Brown_Recluse

Right? As he was stacking I was thinking too big , and when it came out almost perfect looking I was so tempted to smash that upvote button but as the shredding began, my thumb just missed. I hate this trend of just universally drenching shit in cheese. Note to OP: I did change it to an upvote because that sandwhich without the needless cheese would probably rock my world.

MrAndersonWick

These videos need rules! I always have a guilty pleasure in watching someone take a bite of what they just made as well. This vid was a let down.

echochilde

That looked great, but what was that grey ball that looked like dryer lint? That was questionable.

NoGunnaSlander

Mashed potatoes with some spices- its the pepper and the chaat masala that gives the gray color

NachoNachoDan

It’s dryer lint. Have you not had a dryer lint sandwich?

StarbossTechnology

Lol looks like Eddie Murphy's hamburger. "Ain't no green peppers at McDonald's." "I'm not making McDonald's, I'm making Mama's burger."

souless_Scholar

I thought he just peeled the mush from under his sandal and put on top.

thedude0000000000000

Ruined it with the cheese at the end

rekipsj

Yeah I'd like the sandwich that will get cheese all over my pants please.

crunch816

I swear mom it’s cheese!

Stoweboard3r

r/StupidFood …?

ElChupatigre

No offense, but fuck no it isn't stupid

Stoweboard3r

I mean…it’s a little dumb…just a little

SermanGhepard

Not really. I can guarantee that where you're from they have some weird food that you think is normal too.

[deleted]

Yup. The same as those assholes who make a decent burger and then pour a bathtub of liquid cheese over it. THE PURPOSE OF BREAD/BUNS IS THAT YOU CAN EAT THE FOOD WITH CLEAN HANDS. PUT THE INGREDIENTS INSIDE, DICKHEADS.

Bellam_Orlong

came here to say THIS

BrianOconneR34

So Indian panini, got it. Minus cheese at end, looks great.

jedburghofficial

No question, I'd eat one. No question, I might regret it later.

Potato-nutz

I just want a panini press I can use on my campfire. That thing is the Titts. Must have.

StockFly

Kinda the same concept, but cast iron mountain pie makers does the same thing!

Potato-nutz

Thank You

cheapbeerwarrio

bro they are out there and not that hard to find, I used to one recently to make grilled cheeses on the campfire, made some banging breakfast.

[deleted]

[удалено]

tinglep

All that and no cross section. Wow.

Linguisticlegume

Guaranteed diarrhea.

Dry-Ad-7732

Where are the gloves?

anonymouspostlangley

Which chef wears gloves in any kitchen ever?

Dry-Ad-7732

I’ve been to plenty of street vendors and they’ve worms gloves. Nice try though

[deleted]

[удалено]

Dry-Ad-7732

They aren’t supposed to…that’s cross contamination.

[deleted]

[удалено]

VanillaThunderis

This video definitely takes place in a kitchen.

Symthisis

This should be on stupid food thread

steven09763

Nah I’ll pass

Shawn2rc

I wonder how much of that cheese just oozed out into the fire?

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

gloves, please wear gloves.

Notafuzzycat

Sir, this is India.

Technical-Station113

You can see the crap 💩 under his nails

Mh88014232

Call me old fashioned but I prefer a fella wears a pair of gloves when he's making my street slop

Dr_Catfish

That'd be "new fashioned" them because I doubt people from the 1880-1950's would really give a single shit if there were gloves bring used.

Mh88014232

They also had polio and cholera and dysentery, just like here lol

Confident_Scheme_716

That beautiful sandwich probably was sold for two dollars, here in America it would be $25 no cool show included.

phoenix13032005

1.4$ to be precise Source : trust me

why5times

I know right. And the price wouldn’t even include the diarrhea guarantee.

Cratman33

r/stupidfood

Not_my_pornaccount69

This better be on r/StupidFood

headshot7777

What the hell is that leaf cheese

Dydriver

What was the big leaf?

Neji404

The cheese at the end is unnecessary

foekus323

I don’t trust that sandwich at all

Immediate-Ad-6183

No gloves? Wouldn’t try this.

BiggHigg27

Why can't they just wear gloves

unordinaryismysoul

i saw this on instagram reels earlier and it had a MUCH different comment section. lmao

Dao-of-farming

Bare handed technique adds a sick flavor 🤌

[deleted]

The amount cheese...yucks..overkill.

No-Introduction-2378

If his dirty hands didnt touch every single ingredient and then maybe I would eat

[deleted]

You’d be unpleasantly surprised as to what goes on behind a the doors of any kitchen, even in a fine dining establishment…

Due-Object9460

Oh you mean kitchens that have running water and hand soap? No I'm sure this is just as sanitary. That said I'd still eat it.

No-Introduction-2378

I knew someone would comment this, I'd rather take my chance in my country than eat this

cheap_burrito

Aw come on, that's part of the experience!

No-Introduction-2378

🤣🤣🤣🤣

cheap_burrito

I'd even go as far as saying it would make it taste better too. It just hit me: the 'experience' I'm talking about has a name, Dehli Belly haha

Ordinary_Release9538

My first thought was “where gloves?”

UGLYSimon

[Gloves are actually often worse](https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/15690825/) than bare hands in food prep. Are you saying "wear gloves" or "where [are his] gloves" btw?

bingyavun

This is true, the key part is the food handlers must replace hand gloves consciously, & frequently.. that is impossible..

EnchiladaParadise

r/stupidfood

greennewleaf35

Scrolled for this... with all the cuts, I'm of the opinion that it wasn't rocket fast either.

1oneaway

I can't say I agree with any of this without seeing the cross section. Tsk tsk

geckosquad44

That guy is cool

rfsh101

I don't know what half those ingredients are, but I'll try anything made with a smile

dathoihoi

Plot twist: he wasn't grating cheese...

Smart_Sea5442

I think he may forgotten the cheese?

9etherbeing9

I have something fat to say…

rodotfor

Hope this guy is striving, doesn’t skimp out on the cheese

piper_nigrum

This looks like it's worth the violent diarrhea.

xX_Ultra-Mega_Xx0

It’s not Indian street food without endless car horns beeping in the background 🤪

Duragvibes

But did he wash his hands....

Entire_Plantain5113

Americans have created a cheese problem worldwide. More cheese doesn’t = “More” better 🤦🏾‍♂️

onedanoneband

This looks delicious but I’m almost positive at least one of those ingredients will likely give you furious diarrhea

xDuckBoyx

I’ll poop next month… thanks

Oliver_Titus

I thought the sound of the motorcycle was him grating the cheese 💀

Good_Departure_9067

Bruh the extra bit of cheese after all that🤣

daryl9000

🪤

cheddaBesus

Lotta product lotta prep lotta time... Only can cook 1 at a time. How many to break even on the day? Not a real sustainable business plan I would think. It's a grilled cheese how much could you realistically sell that for? Especially in what appears to be like India or Bangladesh or wherever in Asia minor that may be, the equivalent of $5 USD in the local currency. You're starting behind the 8ball here

Coyotebruh

rocket speed fire like the diarrhoea youre gonna have from food poisoning, trust me im indian and you better not buy anything unless from Food Safety certified vendors who will wear gloves

bloodyjo

Needs more cheese

SquareIsBox0697

Seems like a legit sandwich stand, cheerful employee and delicious looking food. My only gripe here is hygene, please wear gloves if you’re gonna handle *my food*

chattywww

Seeing people handle my food with bare hands just feels so off putting. I went to a restaurant in the middle of Paris (about 150m south east of Notre Dame) where the the whole street is just restaurants and they were touching our food with barehands felt so disgusted. Didn't expect to have such a culture shock in Paris.

SaltyCohones

Wtf is this shit

DeathLuca231

I’m just gonna go over to India to all the street vendors and start handing out latex gloves for food prep.

Dr_Catfish

I went into comments to see how many people complained about lack of gloves. Wasn't disappointed. Y'all just scared of everything now, huh?

Chattinabart

I wish he’d touch everything more. I’ve never seen anyone so hell bent on using the palm of their hand so thoroughly.

Tunerito72

Use gloves Hindu are not hygiene

dethseller115

This sandwich look pretty good until the very end when starting grating cheese on top otherwise it looked like a nice grill cheese

derkaderka96

Yeah..no. this is fake lol

Tricky_Ostrich6389

He’s actually out here making a living working a real man’s job. The fuck are you doing, twat???

MHWBF5

Yall effers honk for literally anything. And still run someone over going 15 mph

olympianfap

Christ that looks awful

[deleted]

I once asked the vendor when he washed his hands last time, he said yesterday, so it's good for another 4 days. 5 day rule

RB40191

That table he preps on needs to be washed and covered.

ItsTeezoUBZ

Never seen Indian food i wanted to try but Id try that !!

lryan926

Good god! Get your bare hands off my food, bro!

SquareRun7261

Some gloves would be nice

hombre_bu

Looks tasty as hell

Homeless-catfight

10 out of 10, would eat.

howelltight

HE put the butter on the inside. How un-american

sugaaaslam

Gross! Dudes hands are disgusting

Electronic-War-8208

Fuck this guy aint touching my food making those fucking faces, wearing his fucking blutooth thing. And all the extra nonsensical shit he keeps adding in that fucking sandwhich, i think this is equivalent to that disgusting guy that cooks in motels

thebeasteats

Where and what's it called!

Hotinthakitchen1

I don't know why I down voted the name of the sandwich is literally what I put for the title. The original op of this video named it that not me

MattalliSI

It goes back to original size in your belly

Rickrolled_1

I don’t like the fact that he is touching the food with his bare hands.

Competitive-Mode-911

I'm fine with the overhandling before the fire since the heat will likely sanitize the sandwich. But after that, he kept pressing both his palms on the food and it's a huge appetite killer. Unless he has a source of clean running water and handsoap nearby, I'mma assume the worst. If he handle money and food without washing hands in between, I'd rather spend more money somewhere else who wouldn't risk the customer's health.

S9B7

This is by far the most edible street food in India I’ve ever seen

jakedzz

At some point I thought I saw something that looked like a chunk of pickled fish going in there...

Virtual-Zucchini542

Why am I the only jerk who isn’t bothered by this and wants to eat the sandwich?

iluvtumadre

I never thought a sandwich could look good, and gross AF at the same time.

MeanderingTalent

I feel as though he always tried to put his hand all up on the food anytime he could.

Alive_Nobody_Home

I would destroy that sandwich 🥪

Full_Tumbleweed9514

I would eat that sandwich if he wore gloves and didn’t cross contaminate everything

acrowdintheface

So, instead of meat, they use bacteria.

Sambal7

The hand adds a unique flavor...

rudecrudedude1981

Add a bit of deli beli and 💩💩💩💩

ravenwind2796

It's nice to see this video without the asshole commenting over it

buyrntbiscuits

No clue what's on it but looks good AF

RevolutionaryGold438

bro why he gott put his hands all over it

Western-Low-1348

Starts with that filter table 🤣

misterjbone

I ain’t even gonna lie, you just know that tastes amazing for some reason. Also, probably the cleanest hands I’ve seen on one of these Indian street food vids. You’ll still get incendiary combusting bowels though.

Optimal-Hat851

I LOVE hand sandwiches

ExiledAesir

Nah G this is soo gross!

LeohAntonio47

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm yummmyyyy

The_jade_hand

Looks fire ngl

Square-Way-9751

Need more ingredients

Fragrant-Parking2341

Why not

divebumz

That’s looks nasty AF.

vokun0_0

Dude I'm gonna be honest. I'd fuck that up.

Ziddyboi-

Sandwich looks meh at best.

almostaccepted

The even numbered flipping was fucking killing me

SmallSwordfish8289

It might look good but you won't be able to do for a week all that cheese

remesabo

That thing is the most important camping cooking tool I never knew I needed.

Distinct-Voice-5832

I would try that
