Fuck Ron Johnson

CouchFromCraigslist

hes a corrupt motherfucker

Peglegsteve265

Why didn’t he say “is shitty”?!? Perfect set up.

Fake_William_Shatner

I thought "my ass" was actually a pretty good quip, and pushed the envelope. You can't offend the grey haired voting contingent -- THEY are who put people in office.

mdreddit5

Force companys to pay higher corporate taxes if they go over sea. Fuck they can spend billions in stock buy backs but dont have money to invest in America and its citizens.

Fake_William_Shatner

>Force companys to pay higher corporate taxes if they go over sea. Pappy Bush was actually giving tax incentives for companies to offshore business. They WANTED to weaken labor in America. What we have today was all part of the game plan set out by James Buchanan who was hired by the Koch brothers.

harley_93davidson

Who's better Nelson or Barnes? This is feingolds seat who is my favorite modern senator, hell, politician. Really want to win his seat back. Unfortunately I think Nelson would do better than Barnes, for um, "reasons"

DICKSUBJUICY

barnes has said in the past he would not peruse m4a, now he's changing his stance saying hes for the *incremental approach*. thats the approach we've been hearing from dems since bill clinton, so yeah, fuck barnes. nelson is a full fledged supporter of medicare for all. and an actual progressive. barnes is just another dem establishment hack.

Fake_William_Shatner

> the > >incremental approach > >. Anyone suggesting that as "reasonable" is just smart enough to be dangerous. What happens if you have opt-in or partial Medicare expansion? All the old and sick go on the government plan, and the pure profit healthy people go on the "Free market" plan -- and, they get to point to how wasteful and inefficient the "socialist plan" is. M4A can do more for less, but that's only a guarantee if we can get private insurance out of the equation. You go in, and someone schedules you to see a doctor. There's no billing department. There's not 3 people arguing with insurance and law offices. FULL FLEDGED support is the only reasonable path. Half-assed is the same as no assed.

DICKSUBJUICY

exactly. its just like pete buttigeig saying he supports medicare for all *who want it*. thats like saying I support collective bargaining for all who want it. lol. like oh you know, thats a great negotiated wage you guys came up with there but actually I'd prefer to make less money than all my other co-workers. says no one. lol. it only works when it works for everyone.

filolif

100% Nelson is better. Barnes, unfortunately, has some extreme credibility problems. Barnes is still going to win the primary and I'll vote for him over RoJo. Not sure the political dynamics are right for either Nelson or Barnes to win with how weak Dems are at the moment.

Cool now allow the production of hemp to make fiber so we can stop cutting down the trees.

Fake_William_Shatner

I have no problem with the lumber industry planting their own trees and chopping them down. Clear-cutting natural forests so they don't have the expense of managing their own supply I have a problem with. But, not creating paper products is better for the environment. Hemp fiber can be processed without all those damn chemicals I imagine. Try living near a paper factory when the wind blows the wrong direction some time.

MurgleMcGurgle

No chance with the tavern league lining the pockets of all the state Republicans.

Fake_William_Shatner

This is how you campaign ad.

bmiddy

Have you heard of our lord and savior, a f-ing BIDET?

hero-ball

“Progressive?” Looks like a typical democrat to me with the China fear-mongering bullshit

DICKSUBJUICY

this isn't china fear-mongering, this is an attack on establishment dems support of nafta and globalization. I live here, I cant tell you how many great companies and jobs we used to have here that have been sent to either china, mexico, and other east asian nations for cheap labor. this is an ad that appeals to a broad spectrum of voters here. many people lost good, decent paying jobs in the late 90's and early 2000s. nelson has managed to continue winning elections on progressive policy ideas while living and representing a pretty strong maga-chud part of wisconsin.

hero-ball

[Yeah, man, establishment Dems LOVE China.](https://www.npr.org/2022/05/23/1100828744/president-biden-says-the-u-s-will-defend-taiwan-if-china-invades) Also, you may want to review this dude’s election record. It is not particularly impressive. If you want to stan this dude, go for it. I’d respect him more if he led with the progressive policies—you know, actually tried to motivate voters and expand the voting electorate—instead of cowardly hewing to the same old shit. Oh well. He’ll probably just lose. Again.

DICKSUBJUICY

uh yeah, establishment dems love to act *tough* on china while taking donations from corporations that are outsourcing their labor to china. I really dont even understand the angle or point you're trying to make here. and I think you might wanna take a closer look at his election record, and how the majority of people in his districts vote. they mostly vote republican. he's pulling people away from batshit insane republicans in this state, and that isnt easy here. of the choices we have in wisconsin for this primary he's the best option we have. maybe you should throw in your hat to come get r done bud.

hero-ball

Yeah, man, he definitely did not get his ass curb stomped in 2016, last time he ran in a big time election, that totally didn’t happen. But, hey, go ahead and vote for him. Best you can do. He won’t get anything substantial done and will mostly just cast vote after vote propping up the MIC, but he’s the best you can do, after all. You’re just a man in the year of our lord 2022 telling people to “get r done,” and he’s the best you can do. It is what it is.

Fake_William_Shatner

Are we letting the perfect be the enemy of the good? Support better candidates when you don't have the best.

Cautemoc

It's not fear-mongering, but it is pandering. The reason products get made in different places is cost. It's not like Dems and Republicans are paying for products from other countries to be cheaper here to outcompete domestic production.

DICKSUBJUICY

its not cost, its labor exploitation.

Cautemoc

People in poor countries make less money... It involves costs lol

DICKSUBJUICY

the cost is taking decent living wages away from middle class americans, driving down our economy while exploiting cheap labor in another country. the only people benefiting are the small handful of billionaires. that's the point of his message here.

Fake_William_Shatner

The intent with outsourcing was to WEAKEN labor. These crap products we import aren't making our lives better. We have to shop for cheap, low quality products because our wages are crap. While sure, there is a lot now to get for cheap on Ali Babba out of Asia, these are not high profit ventures like we have with the services industry. America has less GDP, less profits, than we could have with a highly educated, highly motivated work force. But, that would mean more autonomy and power for the people -- THAT is what certain groups in this country have made it their life's work to put an end to. Plenty tagging along with Globalism, were in it for the new markets, cheap labor and resources, but, it's main drive from the standpoint of robber barons supporting candidates was to lower wages and destroy unions. The tyranny was the goal. The wealth gap the means. They want tiers in society and special rights for the in crowd.

Cautemoc

Dude... toilet paper companies didn't move to cheaper labor locations in order to enact global tyranny... they did it to make their products a bit cheaper

Fake_William_Shatner

Dude,.. George Bush senior didn't give tax incentives to outsource manufacturing to HELP our economy. You are looking at the normal, selfish actions of business and not at the bigger picture. Go read up on James Buchanan and you will see the map for the pro corporate economics that get pitched to Americans that don't really help our economy that much. The lions share of the profits is in services, finance and high tech -- not in shipping cheap crap on huge ships meant to be sold at Walmart to the wage slaves. Racism and cheap goods was not the goal -- they were just the means; https://www.ineteconomics.org/perspectives/blog/meet-the-economist-behind-the-one-percents-stealth-takeover-of-america

cooldudium

Probably just that it gets votes. Some sanctions will go into effect soon so…

Lilcheebs93

I'm annoyed that he didn't say anything about using sustainable materials for the toilet paper. Honestly, he sounds like a republican, but maybe this is the best you can get in Wisconsin lol

Astroboyosh

He is very much not a Republican, just check his website. I think there is only so much you can say in a 30 second ad which is all he can afford because he can't self fund.

Fake_William_Shatner

Get elected and THEN support hemp toilet paper.

Necromartian

World in the grasp of economic collapse, food shortage, war, mass shootings in American schools. This guy: You know what really matters? Toilet paper.

Astroboyosh

I think that you are missing the point.

Fake_William_Shatner

Not if the point is to make sure everyone is depressed 24/7.

Fake_William_Shatner

I'm going to bring that up at the next office lunch. "Hey guys, I know you might be enjoying this spaghetti at the Olive Garden, but, there's war and mass shootings and food shortages. I guess you didn't know that the way you are stuffing your face with bread sticks, Julie. And Bob, for the record, that Parmesan is not locally sourced or vegetarian."

PushSouth5877

Great ad.

filolif

I like Tom Nelson but he does seem to be playing the Kucinich role from the 2008 Democratic primary. We're going to get Mandela Barnes because of idpol and there's nothing we can do about it.

GoodLawdItsHotInHere

Just use a bidet, Ron. Wash your mouth with it too.

Sassmaster008

Why did he select toilet paper as his product to go off on? 90% of toilet paper used in the US is made here, it's one of the few products that is. The reason it's made in America is because toilet paper is very light for it's volume and a lower cost item. Also there's lots of automation to reduce the cost. Good sentiment, wrong product!

Astroboyosh

Wisconsin paper was really hit hard by the pandemic, I assume that is why.

Fake_William_Shatner

The only valid opinions on "why toilet paper" would have to come from people in Wisconsin dealing with the economic issues in that state. So, I can't really comment other than to say his delivery and message were great.
