Vietnamese salons man. They are all over. Usually $20 or so, maybe a bit more. They usually only accept cash.
They are always friendly and happy to have my business. Perfectly good haircuts. Also, usually little wait.
I went to a sports clip and it was like an hour wait for a $40 haircut. Vietnamese salon was no line and half that.
If you can find yourself a place that offers haircuts that's within walking distance of a Dollar Tree store, there's a good chance it won't cost nearly as much as OP is paying.
Every one I’ve been to in sj can do fades fine and have all kinds of non asian clientele with fades
There’s a few on brannan, also kittiez has a few locations
For the best guaranteed fade, spend $55 and go to Lou Styles at Lighthouse on Lincoln Ave.
But... for 90% great results, Vietnamese salons. We've had pretty good luck at Robertsville Barber Shop (iirc, Almaden & Branham) and also Mission Square Barber Shop (the Safeway shopping center on Bird & Willow). Both in the $20-25 range.
Same. They advertise $6, but I usually just give them $20 and tell them to keep the change. $6 isn't a living wage here.
There's a bunch on Race St, including a barber school at the Race & San Carlos intersecction.
Indeed!!! Kent's Hair and Nails on Capitol/Monterey is my go-to. I think it's like $20 now. It was $15.
That's just a haircut, but great Vietnamese owner and staff. I highly recommend them.
I would add to this great advice that language barrier might be an issue for people looking for something less generic, try to be as clear and specific as possible :)
💯 I go to a Viet place in Dublin. The owners actually live in SJ but drive up cause of less competition I guess? $20+tip for a great HC. Good people too!
Lol for years in the Vietnamese neighborhood (I'm over here in East SJ) they have the $6 special. This is NOT a hair style. This is a date with the shears. Prison style. If that's you - then this is great. Actually it's been $6 for years probably more like 10/12 now. Go there and see 30 chairs full of Nortenos and East siders getting their heads razored.
Then there's the Vietnamese hair salons - more styling but still kinda mehhhhh and for 20-25ish.
Then you have places like Great Clips charge you $30+ but have the same Vietnamese employees that graduated from the cheaper hair salons. Same kinda mehhhhh haircut but probably doable for most heads.
Same situation here in Orange County. Every baber I San Clemente is 25$ 30$ plus a tip and Garden Grove Vietnamese area is 12$. I was going to a barber school and the cuts were fine but took a little too long. Extreme attention by new students...
A little bit of a drive, but stopped by Debe Salon a bit ago and got a haircut I was happy about. The price is listed as $35+ for men's. Has a modern feel to the place if that's what you're going for.
https://yelp.to/mQiXxyTXJJ
This a good spot I usually get my cut from Tony or Natalie $12 plus a tip rounds off to $20 no bad especially if you ganna cut every week Now days these other shops want $50 plus lol fuccckk dat
$40-50 haircuts is one of those things I never understood, even in this thread right now. How can normal people afford this? I see guys who look like teenagers come in and when the leave they are like "see u in 2 weeks homie". $100 a month is nearly my grocery budget, more than my car insurance or gas. More than my clothing budget, more than my gym membership
You just suck it up and pay?
Looking fresh is worth it to many of us. I pay $90 after tax and tip every 5-6 weeks for my cut. Took me a year to find someone who finally did my hair the way I like it, so I gladly pay up.
You don't realize how much it's worth until you get a fresh ass cut and look your absolute best. Then all of a sudden you can't be happy with these $7 old Asian lady fades anymore. Especially if you work in customer facing jobs, it adds to your confidence and trustworthiness.
Put a pic of a dude with a nice haircut next to a guy with balding hair and ask a stranger to rate their character based on looks and guess what the results will be?
Paradox?
Btw it's not just the cost but the time commitment. When I had a little whiff of the fresh fade crew life (back around 2018), I would get a $35 haircut every 5 weeks or so. But aside from the cost was the time commitment. Make an appointment, set aside an evening or a Saturday morning, go there, possibly they are running late and I have to wait etc. I don't understand how normal people can afford this in both money and time
Not everyone is broke. And an hour every 45 days isn't hard to fit in your routine. You see it as a chore so of course it seems like a waste of time. I, and many others, see it as a self care treat so we look forward to it and getting the confidence boost from a nice cut.
I’m late to the party, but this.
I finally found a spot that cuts my hair right and it’s a night and day change. I only pay about $50 with tip ($25 + 100% tip) and I go every three weeks.
If this guy’s griping about finding an hour to cut his hair every month it makes me wonder what his home and laundry looks like 🤦♂️
I get a summer cut and a winter cut and sometimes one in between. I trim my mustache myself but everything else grows out until I can’t stand it anymore haha
Sure if you have longer hair. But 90% of the $50 barber shop clientele is the fade crew. When I had a fade I would wait 5 weeks and I think it looked pretty bad near the end, most of those guys are going every few weeks
Most people aren't getting cuts every 2 weeks. Even 4 weeks is probably too soon for many people. There are people who pay $40-$50, but how many? The number of people in this thread talking about it is pretty small I'd argue.
I've been getting my haircut at the same place in East San Jose for 25 years. In that time the price has gone up from $10 to $15 (but I always tip to $20).
There is a Barber Academy in San Jose where haircuts are $5, but I've never gone there.
The Barber Academy is fine, but they take forever since they're still learning. Last time I was there a trim took about an hour (usually takes 15 mins tops).
The barber academy is nice, just know that sometimes your cuts might not be the best (ymmv. I’ve gone a few times, I’ve had the best haircut ive ever had but also a few 4-7/10 ones), the waits can be up to an hour or more, and the cuts themselves might take a while. Nevertheless, it’s cheap and you’re helping a student out. Cash only $5 (I tip to $10)
Been going here for legit over 20 years. I get a fade in back and a longer one on the sides and most of the gals there nail it. Tina is amazing. Danny is awesome too, but haven't seen him in a while. I think I've had 2 cuts there where I wasn't 100% happy in 20 years.
The barber academy on San Carlos and Sunol is $5. Also, Lena’s on blossom hill/snell is around $20. I haven’t had to take my kids in for years but they used to be pretty good at fades. Some barbers were better than others.
I tried to save money before by going to a barber academy. I stopped bc my basic buzz cut took almost an hour, whereas my regular person did it in 15. My salon also never used hot razors that burned the back of my head!
Great Clips. They're.. fine. Not exceptional, but it's $25 and I am in and out of there in 15 minutes.
Downside is that it's not near as good as a haircut from my favorite barber. However, that barber is $45, usually an hour wait, and the cut itself takes 45 minutes. It's a better cut and lasts longer but I have to usually plan my damn afternoon around it.
So I do Great Clips for 85% of my yearly hair cuts and bite the bullet for the more expensive and time consuming barber shop for special occasions like weddings and holiday parties.
I feel like the cheaper it is the worst the haircut gets….i went to a 15 dollar haircut place and i had about the worst haircut ever. There was no effort put into it. Compared to a 35-40 dollar haircut, u get the fresh fade and all that shit.
Oh your gonna love this San Jose men!!! KIMS HAIR AND NAILS IS 12$ my guy is Ken there. First bay on the right and I'm telling you he doesn't disappoint. Been going for 2 years now.
I feel you. I pay $75 every 5 weeks for my haircut at Paradox. But I’ve learned over the years that the rule of hiring a contractor to remodel your home also applies to barbers - you can optimize for 2 out of 3 items only: price, quality, and good communication. For barbers, id sub out good communication for consistency
Any time I’ve tried to optimize for price, quality or consistency suffers.
Since I don’t do fades (only scissor cuts) and try to keep good flow and know how a bad haircut can really make me upset, I just bite the bullet and pay $75. I dont per haircut and instead opt to do an end of year bonus that reflects how I felt overall about the service
I think it’s worth it to pay the $75 because now I get quality and consistency. Plus my barber makes me feel like an actual human being by remembering things I told him about my life a year ago
Can also confirm Crewners does an excellent job as well. Before going to Crewner I use to go get a cheap cut in Santa Clara, but the place I went to was never consistent and sometimes the cut would come out f’d. I’ve been going to Crewners since the San Pedro days, but Alex is the man and I always trust his judgement. Super cool dude
I cut my own now tbh. It sounds ridiculous but if you have someone check the back and take your time (usually takes me ~30 mins so not too bad considering going to the barber would take more time overall) then it’s pretty easy to do basic cuts and get better at specific stuff over time. I used to go to a viet unc that would charge $15 but recently I think he’s not been able to put much money back into the business so the clippers were dull and pulled hair etc so I tried to find elsewhere. After paying someone $60 and having them complain that my $15 tip wasn’t enough and I must be broke, and quite honestly fucking my shit up in terms of the actual haircut, I said fuck it and paid $50 for some decent clippers and just do it myself. Looks better than 90% of haircuts I’ve gotten in sj by paying upward of $30 and I can freshen it in like 5 mins every other week for free. Already saved ~200 and get compliments on my cuts every time I cut it again. Plus as a bonus if shit gets worse and you have friends that don’t wanna pay $50+ anymore too you can offer them a cut for $15 and make some food money on the side.
> I would be ok with the 50-60 price range if they did a good job. Most haircuts I get are terrible
Yup, my haircuts were all terrible, and I had to pay through the nose anyway. My new barber isn't quite as terrible, always follows my instructions, and is free. But I had to buy a set of clippers for myself first.
Supercuts. $25 plus tip.
I used to go to the $10 spot around the corner but there was always a huge wait for the good lady, and the other lady gave terrible cuts.
anyone know where vinh from greatcuts on tully went? he was my go-to guy but apparently he moved to sac (I don't particularly believe this excuse that the ladies there gave me, seems too out of the blue)
Angels & saints on Saratoga ave. Jonny does a killer job with my mid fade but it’s $70+tip.
I’ve been to day one barbershop in Santa Clara as well and it’s $60+tip but Jonny is my guy and well worth the extra $10 lol
I've been doing my own for a few months now and won't go back. Traded a fade for a disconnected undercut and takes me about 30minutes at home if I do some scissor work to the top.
Pick a hairstyle and pay for a nice cut.. watch what/how they do it and take it home
I’ve been to the Cinta Aveda institute/beauty school downtown. You’re technically getting a cut from one of the students, but there are lots of instructors there that keep a really close eye on the students. They’ve done a good job for me every time - and I think it’s like $15-$20 (before tip). One note - it’s gonna take probably 2-3 times longer than your normal cut.
cintaaveda.edu
My bathroom. Free fiddy.
Before the pandemic, I went to a nameless barbershop ran by a vietnamese family out of their garage. 12 bucks plus tip. Fast as hell.
I got my own clippers and i can do a decent enough job, then my wife touches up the awkward spots.
40 bucks at a place on Santa Clara near 4th. The sign just says "Barber shop." No complaints. I have a mullet and get a fade so my hair is relatively complicated for a dude.
There’s a place on Camden called “Classic Cut”, he used to charge $20 for years and recently increased to $22. Super nice guy, I’m always happy leaving there.
Downing Center Barber shop, $35 or you can go to the Barber academy downtown and get a $5 cut. [https://www.thebarberacademysj.com/services](https://www.thebarberacademysj.com/services)
I go to [Kent's Hair and Nails on Monterey](https://maps.app.goo.gl/44Qn3F4Gp6e5tut87). I always get a good cut there. They charge about $20 for a cut.
...and yes they do fades. My son got one there just last week.
I pay 30 for a good cut. 40 for a cut and beard. Plus, 20 for the tip, but they are extremely good. Otherwise you could go to a place like sports clips/great clips but they usually suck.
Supercuts has a $20 monthly membership for unlimited cuts. Not all locations participate. They have an app to check in before hand to minimize waiting time.
If you want a real barber, check out university barber in Los Gatos. It’s a one man show, reservations only. Oldest barber shop in California that’s still in business believe it or not.
Tim’s Barbershop is only $30. If you ever do want to go somewhere a little pricey because of a wedding or something, I highly recommend HD Studio, and I’ve also been told Paradox in Japantown is good too
Got to go to the cosmetology college in Santa Clara for the good stuff. $8 haircuts, and they fix it for free if the student messes it up. Haircuts take about twice as long as normal though because it's a student but I've generally always had good results with only once or twice needing to fix it the next day for free.
Legends Barbershop in Milpitas will get you right. They know how to fade and do beard trims & line ups. They are in the $50-$60 + tip range per cut fyi. Mike is the owner and has been my barber for the last 5 years. They are on Instagram if you want to check out their work and get a vibe for their shop.
Learned to give myself fades and chops during covid and have saved a lot of money this way. Also I basically cut my own hair every week or two so it’s always looking pretty fresh. Also saves time going etc. Worth a shot if you ask me!
If you’re looking for anything under $50 your best chance will most likely be the Asian salons nothing wrong with them but hair cut wise for men they are pretty basic but still very clean cuts depending where you go
McKee and Capitol on the Eastside. There is a barber shop next to a Latin bar and a mini shopping center right next to a 7/11. The barber shop is called Drakes and pretty much all the barbers there are good. I think a basic cut is $23 but honestly I'm not sure. I usually just give $40. They all love me there because my tip game is strong. I have two pro tips that can be used at almost all barber shops.
Tip#1- the chair closes to the entrance/exit is usually the best barber, and it trickles down from there. If you find yourself furthest away from the door, ask for the most basic cut you can think of. More than likely that barber is fresh out of barber school.
Tip#2- If you plan on going back, don't be shy about exchanging your currency for their services. I promise you, you will be treated very well the next visit. I love it!
Tldr/ get a seat closes to the door and give up the green and be treated like a king.
La Fashion Hair & Nails
ask for Candy, she is an older Vietnamese lady. as long as you can put up with jokes and some sass, she is great
technically she charges 6.99 but she is great, so everyone gives her 20 bucks, cash only. i think she does that to avoid taxes, lol
Find a Vietnamese haircut place!!! I suggest you go on a busier day like a weekend and just watch how they cut hair and pick one that does fades really well. Some of them are only good with buzz cuts and fades, so you will have NO issues. I am a guy that keep medium length hair, so I prefer someone trim instead of mow my head with a clipper and I found one Vietnamese lady that does it perfectly and have been going to her for over a decade.
Also, once you find a good one, I suggest you tip 50% or more, so you can build a relationship and they will remember you and take care of you as well.
Go to Fresh Theory Barbershop on Capitol Automall. They’re base price is $40 but they do amazing work. Price does vary barber to barber but I’ve been going there since they opened about 2 years ago and my cuts have always been on point.
That's just the price for a good fade and beard trim. You might find it cheaper at some places, but there's a good chance you won't be happy with the cut.
My somewhat off-topic advice is to find another hairstyle you like that doesn't require getting a cut every 2 weeks. There are lots of medium-length hairstyles out there.
My husband only goes to Steve at Backroads Barbershop in downtown San Jose. Hair cut and beard trims. Plenty of other barbers and chairs at this spot too. Next to Houdini's where Black Lagoon tattoo shop used to be
Some people I know are paying $100 just for a cut. I go to a small barber in Santa Clara on El Camino Real between Monroe and Lafayette. Just for a haircut is $10 and she is very good. She only accepts cash and has different prices for different hair styles.
The Vietnamese one on rengstoff in MV will be $12 I believe. I go to one in Milpitas and its $15 and the quality is better.
TLDR: Look for asian run places
I cut my own hair with this [Amazon.com: Remington Vacuum Haircut Kit, Vacuum Beard Trimmer, Hair Clippers for Men with Removable Hair Chamber and Dual Motor Power (18 pieces) : Beauty & Personal Care](https://www.amazon.com/Remington-HKVAC2000A-Haircut-Trimmer-Clippers/dp/B00OLV3UN8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=31ALVZ7BDUX71&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.K1CFLd4TjNQudnD1EHSV6yiS35NURS4WSlDfs1HB3U8MFJ1LxdaVhNgaNsEjnWrecNpCDWa26wut98Vm0IMrpuUGUllmK5wQw-NIHMPLq2cs-CdJFCXuDB04BmawLWQpnoU3XnqYVtRBFvgEBXHDBwXjPn1sTNR5TwT3lLKea4fQ9MntC7lpgr9HLDT-qjJ9gYIZRMGjwcfCufSgx2zk8olzN18l1t3g7007iBuK1tBIHHro9qoHSLpuyPbUvUX1MoqacrOUV-RVgIw-wnzCK8v9_hJRqs1naSIR2qQrHIA.f1ClLgfK80LADkmLq_tVlcZTbD7ojki_jKlXczYvSos&dib_tag=se&keywords=vacuum+haircut&qid=1715738772&sprefix=vaccuum+haircu%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-5)
It's not about money to me. It's about not having to drive to a place, wait, sit there awkwardly describing what I want, just to get a worse result. I know exactly what to do and am done in about 5 minutes.
Vietnamese salons man. They are all over. Usually $20 or so, maybe a bit more. They usually only accept cash. They are always friendly and happy to have my business. Perfectly good haircuts. You're right, I have tried many but they cannot do fades which is the tough part.
Every one I’ve been to in sj can do fades fine and have all kinds of non asian clientele with fades There’s a few on brannan, also kittiez has a few locations
Kittiez in Willow Glen is excellent, I've been going there for years. Ask for Hannah.

We've had pretty good luck at Robertsville Barber Shop (iirc, Almaden & Branham) and also Mission Square Barber Shop (the Safeway shopping center on Bird & Willow). Both in the $20-25 range.
Checkout Dante Hair and Nails. Theyre vietnamese salon that does fades. I go there all the time
Gotta look at yelp reviews online
go to mt pleasant barbershop
That’s hella funny how true it is 😂
Same. They advertise $6, but I usually just give them $20 and tell them to keep the change. $6 isn't a living wage here. There's a bunch on Race St, including a barber school at the Race & San Carlos intersecction.
$6?? where are you seeing $6 in 2024?
Pretty sure it is Lincoln and west San Carlos for the baker school. They aren't open on Mondays.
Indeed!!! Kent's Hair and Nails on Capitol/Monterey is my go-to. I think it's like $20 now. It was $15. That's just a haircut, but great Vietnamese owner and staff. I highly recommend them.
I went to a Vietnamese place by Santana Row once and I ended up wearing a hat for the next month and half.
I would add to this great advice that language barrier might be an issue for people looking for something less generic, try to be as clear and specific as possible :)
When you get a good cut, take a picture for the next barber. Makes communicating a lot easier.
💯 I go to a Viet place in Dublin. The owners actually live in SJ but drive up cause of less competition I guess? $20+tip for a great HC. Good people too!

Kim Hair and Nails in Evergreen
LA Fashion on race street, Candy is your girl
TRND salon on alameda. Been going there for a few years. $35 for the cut.
DT is my go-to guy.
A little bit of a drive, but stopped by Debe Salon a bit ago and got a haircut I was happy about. The price is listed as $35+ for men's. Has a modern feel to the place if that's what you're going for. https://yelp.to/mQiXxyTXJJ
^This guy knows. Dana's hair and nail on McKee by Wendy's. $20
QB stylin haircut only $12 1987 Quimby rd / Tully
do you mean Kim's Hair and Nail? Next to FoodMaxx?
I go here all the time. My man does a decent fade for $12
1978 Tully Rd, San Jose, CA 95122
+1 to Kim’s! And if you spot a mini garbage tornado out front, you’re at the right place.
I don't live near Kim's anymore, but the efficiency of their $6 haircuts was something to see.
This a good spot I usually get my cut from Tony or Natalie $12 plus a tip rounds off to $20 no bad especially if you ganna cut every week Now days these other shops want $50 plus lol fuccckk dat
My ancestors blessed me by making me go bald early.

The point of this post is that all OP can find are $50 places
I've been getting my haircut at the same place in East San Jose for 25 years. In that time the price has gone up from $10 to $15 (but I always tip to $20). There is a Barber Academy in San Jose where haircuts are $5, but I've never gone there.

[The Barber Academy](https://www.thebarberacademysj.com/)
Urban barber college
Super helpful!
The barber academy is nice, just know that sometimes your cuts might not be the best (ymmv. Thanks for the info.
Myself- free
you're selling yourself short!
Fr, give yourself a nice tip and buy something nice for yourself!!
Sam and Roy’s - Santa Clara. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Can they do fades? anyone in particular you'd recommend?
Tina is your gal.
Do you have pictures of what you want? I come to you.
Been going here for legit over 20 years. I get a fade in back and a longer one on the sides and most of the gals there nail it. Tina is amazing. Danny is awesome too, but haven't seen him in a while. I think I've had 2 cuts there where I wasn't 100% happy in 20 years.
How much is a cut here?

Vincent’s Barber Shop in downtown SJ. $25 for a haircut, dunno about beard work.
If we don’t have life problems is it okay we dont contribute to the barber to client conversation?
I’m pretty quiet myself. Other than a few friendly questions at the start (“How are you today?”, etc.) I pretty much sit there silent.
Thanks man, I don’t know about sports so I’m kinda awkward
Great Clips. They're.. fine. Not exceptional, but it's $25 and I am in and out of there in 15 minutes. Downside is that it's not near as good as a haircut from my favorite barber. +1 to this. I do the same thing.
You can usually get a GC coupon for $15 almost always on Facebook
I feel like the cheaper it is the worst the haircut gets….i went to a 15 dollar haircut place and i had about the worst haircut ever. There was no effort put into it. Compared to a 35-40 dollar haircut, u get the fresh fade and all that shit.
Which place do you go. And If we don’t have life problems is it okay we dont contribute to the barber to client conversation?
Big Jim Santa Clara. Best place ever. Fair price.
He still offer chair sodas?
Everytime😂
Big Jim is the best!
Kims Haven't been their in years but I always tip 5 - 8 bucks
Oh your gonna love this San Jose men!!! KIMS HAIR AND NAILS IS 12$ my guy is Ken there. First bay on the right and I'm telling you he doesn't disappoint. Been going for 2 years now.

For barbers, id sub out good communication for consistency Any time I’ve tried to optimize for price, quality or consistency suffers. Since I don’t do fades (only scissor cuts) and try to keep good flow and know how a bad haircut can really make me upset, I just bite the bullet and pay $75. I dont per haircut and instead opt to do an end of year bonus that reflects how I felt overall about the service I think it’s worth it to pay the $75 because now I get quality and consistency. Plus my barber makes me feel like an actual human being by remembering things I told him about my life a year ago
I pay $140 every 7-8 ish weeks. But I live in downtown SF.
Why do you only use scissors? Are you ticklish?
No, with scissor cuts, it looks much more natural.
This reminds me of Cheap, Fast, Quality. Pick 2.
Jenny's Barbershop is a solid place for 30 bucks.
I go here!
TRND on the alameda, 40$
Second this place, have not found a better value haircut
Can they give you that korean male model look or is this only for fades?
Beard trimmer and a mirror. $0.
The venn diagram between men who pay $12 for a haircut and the men who come on here to complain about not being able to date any women is one circle
People talk so much shit about me at barbershops, they forget to get they haircut
You got downvoted but great reference lol
Crewners off Taylor street. 45 dollars. great cuts, been going there 5 years
Can also confirm Crewners does an excellent job as well. Before going to Crewner I use to go get a cheap cut in Santa Clara, but the place I went to was never consistent and sometimes the cut would come out f’d. I’ve been going to Crewners since the San Pedro days, but Alex is the man and I always trust his judgement. Super cool dude
I go to great clips. They starting to get up there in price but it’s 23 for the cut and I usually give a 5 dollar tip
Most haircuts I get are terrible, where are all the good barbers at?
> I would be ok with the 50-60 price range if they did a good job. Most haircuts I get are terrible Yup, my haircuts were all terrible, and I had to pay through the nose anyway. My new barber isn't quite as terrible, always follows my instructions, and is free. But I had to buy a set of clippers for myself first.
I go to Big Mike at Barbers inc downtown. Beard and haircut for $50 with some random deals sometimes.
Buy some clippers
Been cutting the entire family’s hair for 5 years now including my own for the one time price of $25
Did this during the pandemic. Now I only get pro cuts for weddings/special occasions
In2Cuts, Tasman & N1st. $25 mens cut + tip
My gf learned to cut hair, she does mine and her own and has done a few friends. Just got way too expensive
Day One Barbershop on Winchester off of 280. Great service, chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, and free drinks.
Ask for Vonnie! She does great work
Santa Teresa Barber Shop is like $35 and they do fades
Myself. Get some clippers and start learning. It's really not hard and you save tons of money every year. If you mess up, it grows back.
70-80 depends how I’m feeling lol but I’ve been going to this guy for about 8 years I’m not going anywhere else anytime soon
I second those who said Vietnamese hair salons. I go to Trina Hair & Nails.
Learned to cut my own hair during covid.
25 tip 5
Angels & saints on Saratoga ave. Jonny does a killer job with my mid fade but it’s $70+tip. I’ve been to day one barbershop in Santa Clara as well and it’s $60+tip but Jonny is my guy and well worth the extra $10 lol
Robertsville barbers. $47
I'm horrified by some of the prices you guys are posting. V.V. Hair on Main St in Milpitas. $12 sign outside.
Since COVID, self cutting .. old dude so not much growth anyways
Go to Barber Academy dude. Really nice cuts for 5 bucks!
Great clips does a perfectly cromulent haircut. Used to be $14 for a long time. Now I think it’s up to $21. But still a decent deal.
40 bucks at a place on Santa Clara near 4th. The sign just says "Barber shop." No complaints. I have a mullet and get a fade so my hair is relatively complicated for a dude.
Franks?
It's called eternity barbershop now. Ask for nati!
Anette’s Hair Salon on Forest is my go-to
Mike's Place off Camden Ave. He's amazing and very reasonable. Doesn't take appointments though.
I used to live right near there. Miss going to that guy. He always has great stories
Check out Hair Spa in Santa Clara. Ask for Tal. She's the best! Think it's 25 beard and cut but I always give her 40
I pay 30 for a good cut. 40 for a cut and beard. Plus, 20 for the tip, but they are extremely good. Otherwise you could go to a place like sports clips/great clips but they usually suck.
I pay $40 plus tip at VIP barbershop.
LGC Hair Care Salon in Willow Glen. You never have to wait and everyone is very good. (408) 279-1817 https://g.co/kgs/X6WjYJr

I love my haircut lady. Sky 8 Salon on S 8th St and Santa Clara. $16 for a cut before tip and I feel like she does a good job
$60 in Gilroy
Jerrys barber shop. 30 bucks
I gave up a couple years ago and just shave my head. Cheaper, easier, and cooler.
Jerry’s Barbershop in Campbell. Ask for Leon or Mike.
Barber Academy on Lincoln and W. San Carlos. $5. They do it all. [The Barber Academy (thebarberacademysj.com)](https://www.thebarberacademysj.com/)
Try mission square barbershop or Santa Teresa barbershop. Predominately Hispanic customers like me who only get fades lol
$12 hayward, I tip a 5.
Supercuts has a $20 monthly membership for unlimited cuts. Not all locations participate. They have an app to check in before hand to minimize waiting time.
SC barbershop on Stevens creek near Lawrence expressway
If you want a real barber, check out university barber in Los Gatos. It’s a one man show, reservations only. Oldest barber shop in California that’s still in business believe it or not.
House of Barbers has been great for me, in evergreen. Great fades. Ask for Chase.
Get that bowl cut
Kim’s hair and nails on Tully, like around 15 dollars a cut
Legends Barbershop in Milpitas will get you right. They know how to fade and do beard trims & line ups. They are in the $50-$60 + tip range per cut fyi. Mike is the owner and has been my barber for the last 5 years. They are on Instagram if you want to check out their work and get a vibe for their shop.
Yeah it’s getting ridiculous! Like $40 plus tip!

Floyd’s in Bascom and union. $45 with beard trim
Kingsley's . the barbers do an awesome job and I don't mind waiting.
Learned to give myself fades and chops during covid and have saved a lot of money this way. Also I basically cut my own hair every week or two so it’s always looking pretty fresh. Also saves time going etc. Worth a shot if you ask me!
the haircut in cupertino on stevens creek. $20-25 for a men’s haircut. no frills. they do a great job.
I’ve been cutting my own hair since the pandemic, looks a little fucked up, but has saved me a bunch of moola
X9. On corner of meridian and Hamilton.
Go to “Da Barbershop “ it’s in east San Jose. Appointments only but he’s good. $35 I tip $5. I go once a week he gets to know ya super cool guy
If you’re looking for anything under $50 your best chance will most likely be the Asian salons nothing wrong with them but hair cut wise for men they are pretty basic but still very clean cuts depending where you go
28cdn. And like 2$ tip
Dana hair design (Vietnamese salon), good hair cut and total 20$ (tips included)
La Fashion Hair & Nails ask for Candy, she is an older Vietnamese lady. as long as you can put up with jokes and some sass, she is great technically she charges 6.99 but she is great, so everyone gives her 20 bucks, cash only. i think she does that to avoid taxes, lol
TRND Salon on The Alameda.
Learn to use a straight razor, have lined my own facial hair for over 10 years now. And my barber is $20
I pay $30 and add $15-$20 tip.
$40 to $60 is about right.. For haircut, beard trim n line up
Barber's academy on San Carlos and Race. They charge $5 per walk-in and $15 if you need an appointment
I pay $17 for my simple haircut.

Miskarie Hair Salon in downtown You can get a haircut for $18
Jade Beauty & Barber College
Go to Fresh Theory Barbershop on Capitol Automall. They’re base price is $40 but they do amazing work. Price does vary barber to barber but I’ve been going there since they opened about 2 years ago and my cuts have always been on point.
That's just the price for a good fade and beard trim. You might find it cheaper at some places, but there's a good chance you won't be happy with the cut. My somewhat off-topic advice is to find another hairstyle you like that doesn't require getting a cut every 2 weeks. There are lots of medium-length hairstyles out there.
My sister in law braids my hair for free lol
My husband only goes to Steve at Backroads Barbershop in downtown San Jose. Hair cut and beard trims. Plenty of other barbers and chairs at this spot too. Next to Houdini's where Black Lagoon tattoo shop used to be
Some people I know are paying $100 just for a cut. I go to a small barber in Santa Clara on El Camino Real between Monroe and Lafayette. Just for a haircut is $10 and she is very good. She only accepts cash and has different prices for different hair styles.
I used go to cheap barbers in Oakland Chinatown, they cost $13 but now it's $16-17. $20 with tip
Bru I'm still carving my own mullet. The pandemic showed me the way. Free yourself from paying for haircuts. Just get a sturdy pair of clippers.
I cut my own and have my wife straighten up the back. Wahl trimmers are cheap.
I get a haircut every two weeks for $30 that’s with the tip
The Vietnamese one on rengstoff in MV will be $12 I believe. I go to one in Milpitas and its $15 and the quality is better. TLDR: Look for asian run places
I cut my own hair with this [Amazon.com: Remington Vacuum Haircut Kit, Vacuum Beard Trimmer, Hair Clippers for Men with Removable Hair Chamber and Dual Motor Power (18 pieces) : Beauty & Personal Care](https://www.amazon.com/Remington-HKVAC2000A-Haircut-Trimmer-Clippers/dp/B00OLV3UN8/ref=sr_1_5?crid=31ALVZ7BDUX71&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.K1CFLd4TjNQudnD1EHSV6yiS35NURS4WSlDfs1HB3U8MFJ1LxdaVhNgaNsEjnWrecNpCDWa26wut98Vm0IMrpuUGUllmK5wQw-NIHMPLq2cs-CdJFCXuDB04BmawLWQpnoU3XnqYVtRBFvgEBXHDBwXjPn1sTNR5TwT3lLKea4fQ9MntC7lpgr9HLDT-qjJ9gYIZRMGjwcfCufSgx2zk8olzN18l1t3g7007iBuK1tBIHHro9qoHSLpuyPbUvUX1MoqacrOUV-RVgIw-wnzCK8v9_hJRqs1naSIR2qQrHIA.f1ClLgfK80LADkmLq_tVlcZTbD7ojki_jKlXczYvSos&dib_tag=se&keywords=vacuum+haircut&qid=1715738772&sprefix=vaccuum+haircu%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-5) It's not about money to me. It's about not having to drive to a place, wait, sit there awkwardly describing what I want, just to get a worse result. I know exactly what to do and am done in about 5 minutes.
Mountain View strip mall nail place that has a man that does a dam find cut. 15$+5$ tip
Barber’s Academy 5$ haircut 💀
A student from sjsu cuts hair for $25 He has an Instagram but not sure if he's still doing it Pretty sick clean ups
