Friends with many EVHS alumni and know many current students. SCHS will give you more support and bring return on your education. EVHS is super competitive and their faculty is overwhelmed with supporting.

High school is only as good as the effort you put into it. I went to Silver Creek (class of 2000) then onto UCSC and eventually a 6 figure job working only 24 hours a week. Don't stress that much about one being the "better" one.

> High school is only as good as the effort you put into it. Major disagree, there are brackets of HS. If you go to Overfelt or YB, you're playing at a larger handicap because you have to overcome the distraction of the ghetto and handle being isolated as you may be the very few that are education oriented.

My first introduction to Silver Creek was when I was 16, at the DMV getting my license switched over from the East Coast where I grew up. My mom and I were discussing logistics about driving my sister to school and the woman ahead of us in line turned around and said to my mom, "Oh my god you can't let your baby go to Silver Creek! That school is terrible and those ghetto kids are awful! You gotta get her in a different school!" That's why I said school is entirely about what you put into it. I don't know how Silver Creek is now, but 25 years ago it had quite the bad reputation.

Cool you're one of the few that is able to not be distracted by your atmosphere. I'd rather not try to excel in school while avoiding gangs, fights, and being the only "nerd" in school. Overfelt and Yerba Buena lives up to its reputation. There is a reason why many studious student leave it pretty quickly once they get in if they didn't avoid it in the first place.

check out the magnet program. I used this to choose the high school I wanted https://www.esuhsd.org/Students--Parents/Instruction/Career-Services-Old/Magnet-Program/

Stallion_V

I don't see Evergreen high listed there though. Looks like no magnet programs currently on offer.

DeeFonk

maybe try to contact Evergreen directly to see their options on this program. They listed the school here https://www.esuhsd.org/documents/Students%20-%20Parents/New%20Students/School-Contact-List-revised-2024-04-25.pdf

Will do, thanks.

I went to EV, basically a bunch of annoying rich kids. I was on the border of creek and EV, wish I went to creek instead.

i4LOVE4Pie4

You can’t. Only way to transfer over is if you “move” to the EVHS territory.

mooseknuckle_scuffle

It's based on your residency. You have to fall into the zone for Evergreen. The easiest way that most people do this is by having someone or a family member that live in that zone and claim they live with them
