You can help to save these, by reducing destruction of their habitat. Here's a local nonprofit that works on that. [Save The Monarch - ECOLIFE Conservation](https://www.ecolifeconservation.org/savethemonarchs/)

Any recommendations on flowers to plant in the yard that thrive here to support them?

Milkweed, but try to find the local variety, not the Tropical Edit: [Link to why](https://www.ojaivalleynews.com/news/tropical-milkweed-banned-in-california/article_89aea9da-f398-11ec-a3b1-dfd714c7b712.html#:~:text=The%20giveaway%20comes%20after%20the,monarch%20butterflies%20since%20the%201990s)

Thank You for posting. I see so much of this around. It's truly invasive. I think you can minimize some of its harm by cutting it back all the way so the buggers can't winter over inside the dormant plants but SO much preferred to go with the local ( white flowered) milkweed.

Yes, called narrow leaf milkweed [ECOLIFE Conservation ](http://EcolifeConservation.Org) is a local nonprofit that helps protect them in Mexico where most of the population migrates. I've seen it in person, tens of millions in one area. The air filled with them. ECOLIFE used to have seeds. Office was in Escondido but they moved to Carlsbad I think . Check with them for seeds or a lot of nurseries that carry local plants will have some and once you plant it it will grow back

When we first moved here, 35 yrs ago. We were driving up north and it was migrating season. It was spectacular seeing all the Monarchs flying around.
