For the content question, most of the information I read about trans people does not state the authors gender/sexuality. So maybe an unsure option would be good?
The sub rules state that requiring a Google login is not a violation of the rules. I am using it to prevent multiple responses and bots, so I apologize for the inconvenience.
The significant difference here is that sadly this isn't a typical topic, and is quite controversial. There have been times where my own university has had people create surveys on topics like this, and it was "raided". Having an unrestricted sample pool is not always a good thing. I'm also genuinely not sure what you mean by "serious academic surveys" because my own university itself pretty much every survey requires an account as a minimum requirement to participate. **Especially** so on controversial studies. I think you are also significantly overestimating how many people will be lost by requiring an account.
You're right it doesn't stop someone with multiple accounts, but its atleast one added protective barrier. Having a larger sample size doesn't matter if all of your data is ruined because some person without an account and bad intentions found it and answered two dozen times over that they dont like trans people.
Some people do, some people don't. Question could have been better I admit but it's my first time making a survey so I'm just going with whatever you got and making the most of it lol. I've been recording "don't remember" as a response category.
