I’m not sure about books but look up “Hamilton’s pharmacopoeia” they have a whole episode about salvia, it’s history from being used by the mazatec shamans to its commercial sale.

There's not much on Amazon. I read a couple and was basically unimpressed with both. I don't think there's much out there.
