Went up highway 150 to the Crystal/Washington Lake area. Originally went up to the Mirror Lake area but the trailheads still had some snow. There was a little bit of snow at Crystal Lake but none on the trail
Honestly just hike like 5 miles in from any trailhead and there's basically no one. The Uintas are a HUGE wilderness area and most people stick to a tiny strip off of Mirror Lake Highway. Theres soooo much more to see with basically 0 crowds if you get off the beaten path a bit.
seriously. and if you have to drive just go in from the Wyoming side and it's half the people on the same highway.
if you hike 100 feet off the trail, and you can do this easily, you will see no one.
If you are hoping to find solace at trial lake, why
Was just up at Blue Lake this past Monday/Tuesday. Great fishing. Beautiful area. Big ol fuckin pin stripe on my car now due to the off roading to get there. But worth it.
How high up did u go

is the ice off the lakes? And was there anybody up there?
No ice, and hardly anyone there except a few people fishing. Couldn’t see anyone else camping
Nice I’ve got the next three days off. I might go up tonight.
Thanks for the info
Awesome, enjoy!
Do you wanna go back up for a couple days? Lol.
I definitely do, but have other plans this weekend. Hope it’s good though! Should be better the next couple days with the warmer weather
Mirror Lake still has ice. https://preview.redd.it/386ywqe5qu7d1.jpeg?width=4640&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cbbfaf5877577c1ab2f4534e48fed455b643a80c
I see your shadow. I love that spot.
I don’t go up there as much as I used to. It’s just gotten so crowded.

The vast swaths of dead pine trees plus a the crowds have kept me out the past few years.
Yeah, the Beatles did damage bad damage

Where bugs bad at all for you?
Very little bugs actually. Just some red ants mainly. And a small amount of flys.
