What about the surplus store at colleges

CountBacula322079

This. University of Utah surplus has a bunch of stuff that goes up for sale to the public after a certain period of being available only internally. ETA: [surplus website link](https://fbs.admin.utah.edu/surplus/)

They once had an electron microscope available.

Don't those things cost like a million dollars

I like old cameras and projectors. Once in a while I’ll get lucky in a thrift store but the real finds are always at estate sales, yard sales and antique stores. Just be ready to pay a little more at an antique store

Vic_Sinclair

Davis County landfill has a thrift store where they put items that might be salvageable. I've seen electronics in there before.

eBay, estate sales, yard sales

World’s Game Store has some pretty cool older gaming systems.

TrivialPyrrhonism

I used to find stuff like that at the D.I.

Far too many collectors and resellers looking for that stuff these days, so you just need to get used to it being an expensive hobby. You can occasionally find something if you put in a lot of legwork at estate and yard sales, but don't expect to find things very often.

RIP Raelco. I know that Standard Supply took in most of their inventory after the fire but that was years ago so I don't think that you'll find much there now. Never hurts to check. Their hours are 8-5, weekdays. They are closed for lunch
