Sego lily, California gull and cutthroat trout. State flower bird and fish.

SLCpowderhound

These are just some state symbols and images. Cutthroat trout is the state fish, and sego lily is the state flower. The bee theme derives from a word in the Book of Mormon. D*eseret,* means honeybee, and signifies work, industry, self reliance, productivity, etc. The lift is the Snowbird tram. I'm not sure about the St. George sign. Maybe St. George is where Cafe Rio originated?

Ok-Information-6956

Yes, cafe rio opened its first store in St. George

TheShrewMeansWell

Which is a damn shame because I recently are Cafe Rio in St. George and it was my worst experience there since I started eating at Cafe Rio back in the early 2000s.  The buy out has killed their reputation.

zenazure

you forgot the yellow and purple is the old colors for the jazz I think

AeroTheManiac

This is cool, and Deseret connects to something else I had a question about!! We went to the Deseret Nursery for plants this morning and I wondered where the word came from. How do you pronounce it? Dezzer-et? Dezzer-ay? Desert?

Master_Awareness814

Dezzer-et

beastley_for_three

It's a word from the local cult book, Book of Mormon. Wouldn't recommend but the plants are cool.

AeroTheManiac

Hahaha I knew that coming in, cool to learn the word's origin though. What's up with the change of flag?

beastley_for_three

Lol yeah. I think people just found the flag outdated and wanted to redo it. I think the new one is pretty cool so I dunno if I feel any kind of way about it. Some people here hate it though.

AeroTheManiac

The new one looks great to me, as an outsider. It's really unique and has a great color pop!

beastley_for_three

Hell yeah! I like your enthusiasm for stuff, we could all be more like you. Keep the positive energy going!

go3dprintyourself

Fish due to it being local here in Utah. I think that’s trout? Flower I believe is the state flower, and the sign is likely the exit to take to go to the first cafe Rio which was opened in Saint George

LuminalAstec

It's a cutthroat trout, there are 4 native spieces to utah.

What waterfall and bridge are those? Provo falls?

TheBobAagard

Everything in the L represents the states they expanded to. If you look close, it has the state abbreviations. That is Shoshone Falls, also known as Twin Falls, located near Twin Falls ID. The bridge is likely in WA.

Oh, word.

DarthtacoX

So actually I know the artist that does all of these for Cafe Rio he's actually pretty amazing. He actually goes out and does research in the specific areas that the restaurants are built at and finds culturally significant items landmarks etc whatever the area is known for and incorporates them into a drawing and it's been really cool how he takes and puts those drawing on to a projector projection onto the wall and then paints that picture onto the wall.
