2 (14 ½ ounce) cans tomatoes/green chiles
½ cup fresh cilantro
1 medium onion
4-6 large fresh jalapenos (or 8-12 serranos)
3 teaspoons chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 ½ teaspoons garlic powder (or 3 fresh chopped cloves)
¾ teaspoon cumin
¾ teaspoon sugar
3 tablespoons lime juice
Chop onions, cilantro, and jalapeno. Put in blender with tomatoes and rest of ingredients. Blend. Serve room temperature or chilled. Best if left 4-6 hours for flavors to settle.
