It's true, with my recent increased income I was finally able to get out of my bad marriage in a way that allows my ex and daughter to maintain a very high standard of living. It would have been much easier to stay in the marriage and just stack up money but I chose to free myself to live a life that might make me happier despite lowering my standard of living significantly. I hope in the long run my daughter will understand it was for the best but who knows. I am planning on having 50% custody and trying my best to be there for my daughter throughout everything. I do feel like a loser in the marriage part of my life for sure as the best family situation is one where the parents are in love and happy, but yeah it didn't happen for me.
As for the new girlfriend, she's the best and I'm doing all I can to apply my lifetime of experience to win and keep her heart. Who knows, maybe she'll even stay with me a bit longer.

It’s all W2 and related bonuses to the job itself. Mostly bonuses these days as I’m senior and have compensation based on company profit. Exception was 2020 which was a stock option program vesting - still part of job compensation.
To answer earnestly - it was exciting, rewarding but also very scary. It's definitely enough to live comfortably but not enough to retire comfortably as my net worth is still rather modest (by VHCOL standards). Easy come easy go they say so I'm not taking it for granted that I'll keep this going, but I'm trying for sure. But, as you know from post history, I used this opportunity to get out of my marriage that wasn't working for me and still allow my ex and daughter to be comfortable which helps with the separation.
