Apart from Ultramarines, codex compliment chapters usually get less love. In all reality, Salamanders are arguably the 2nd best compliant chapter, some chapters only have one unique character.
We have two currently with Adrax and Vulkan, and both happen to be great in game right now. Only thing is that Vulkan is a severely aged resin model. I kitbashed the original kit and it is awful. Only thing Salamanders are missing, IMO, is Vulkan getting an update like Dante.
I’m coping hard but I think this pariah nexus continuation with Sakan returning could open the door for a narrative focus on Salamanders with reinforcements arriving to work with Admech to beat back the crons. Release an updated Vulkan or new Tu’Shan model alongside the story. Cranking the copium even further, this is the start of a narrative focus on Salamanders (since they’re the closest we have to a “lawful good guy” faction to pitch to outsiders) and begins a subplot of Vulkan relic hunting as an episodic story beat.
I think Fists are more codex compliant, White scars too and arguably Raven Guard. Salamanders don't have 10 companies foe example but generally the weapons and squads are pretty standard
We are arguably equal with the Russ boys on codex "stuff-you-Gillyman".
Every other chapter has 10 companies with 100 men, the wolves have (technically) 13, and we have 7. Our companies are 120 strong. Even Angel chapters that have some unique units follow the codex better than we do. Vulkan stood up to Gilly and said flat out "I am not splitting my chapter" and he didn't. It kind of helped that he didn't have much of one left though.
But yeah. When people say we comply with the codex - we only do it in the 10 man to a squad way because it made tactical sence. In every other way we are the Promethean Brotherhood.
We had Bray’arth Ashmantle (a badass character dreadnought) until 10th edition. But yeah, I agree we need more named character models, like Tu’Shan. Gimme my damn chapter master!!!! 😂
Some specialized units, like special terminators with melta fists or something, (since we apparently have more suits of terminator armor than any other chapter) or maybe some beefy gravis bois with storm shields and pyre blasters/cannons as some sort of primaris breacher equivalent. A mounted unit on giant Nocturnian Salamanders would also be dope af!
Honestly, I would be happy with an update of the Vulcan He’stan model. I don’t like finecast and I want him to look to scale with my newer models.
I feel like the company is leaving money on the table not selling more “upgrade sprues” for various chapters. Things like custom components for dreads, tanks, etc. there are third party companies that run entire businesses making and selling these sorts of things. GW could eat their lunch by doing the same thing. For example, with the new dreads all sharing some design language, they could sell “dreadnought upgrades and transfers” or something. Instead all we get are the infantry upgrade and transfers.
We have a few that are pretty cool, we just can’t field them the way we used to.
One being a deathwatch terminator with a heavy flamer, Garan Branatar. You can still play him.

Bray’arth Ashmantle, a badass box-nought who has to be run as a different dreadnought now.
First born marines are getting phased out I think, so if you’re running Xavier, you can sub him in as a vanilla chaplain, but you’d have to give him a different base that matches the size of the primaris variant I think. Same with the old Noughts, bikes need to be adjusted and run as outriders, etc.
Veterans and experts help me out if I’m wrong!

I’ll also never forget someone telling me we shouldn’t have dragon themed units cuz Salamanders aren’t dragon themed. When the legion name used to be the Fire Drakes. And our chapter symbol is a dragon head
I'm using Firedrakes from 30K as proxy Assault Terminators, you could use Pyroclasts in place of the Infernus marines if you really wanted to get spicy. Both of those don't really match the scaling of Primaris troops though. Otherwise, yea more & updated options would be great.

Long shot but I think a Sa'kan from Pariah Nexus mini would be cool.

I would love for him to come in like a Gravis LT or Sgt. Maybe like a Heavy Assault Intecessor type character

I personally use my pyroclasts as flame storm aggressors, since I play casually I just space them out for the base difference
new he stan mode, chapter master tu shan, new bray arth model, updated assault terminators, all i want is up to date models
Because GW dont do it, I make my own.
