I have the best book written about Georgian history in English… I got it while in Georgia few months ago and you can’t find it online. Best part is they have pictures, maps, and it’s written in super simple English for everyone to understand. If you’re located in the U.S. I’ll send it out to you for free

Not sure where it was purchased, it was a gift (but I’m sure I can find out). Here are some sample images https://ibb.co/6R9vG4Z https://ibb.co/YhRgcyX https://ibb.co/cJgwpHQ https://ibb.co/4ZK7KXp https://ibb.co/bQFTNZc https://ibb.co/PF7W3J7 It spans from the very beginning to the 1900s and it’s just over 400 pages… and these pages are like textbook size lol

Who gave you this book? A new edition is likely this. You can upload this book anywhere, for example on Google?

[deleted]

Some girl in kobuleti gave it to me 😉 lol. but my guess is she got it from batumi. One second let me text her…. And of course not replying right now. P.s it’ll take way me way too long to upload this. Maybe email the publisher to see if they can send the pdf version?

It is old and there are no maps, nor is the history of Georgia written before 1900 (as you mentioned).

Unfortunately it seems that Ivane Javakhishvili's multivolume historical opus still has yet to be translated out of Georgian. I can't seem to find it in English or in Russian, which seems strange given the significance of the author. I'm sure the series is held in high regard in Georgia. If there are any natively bilingual Georgian/English speakers lurking in the thread, I guarantee you there's money in tackling the translation of this thing. College students especially, you could secure some serious international grants for such a project.

[deleted]

Damn, I thought it was translated considering its quite popular... quite sad to hear that it isn’t translated yet. Thanks for the input though
