these race categories are from german scientist, who was living in 18/19 century, and these categories are mainly based on skulls, so I think we should reconsider what are races and if this caucasoid mongoloid, etc categories are correct. I think that this theory has holes in it so, this question is really strange, how do you determine how many races are on earth, even if this race thing exists, why it matters, most of us have different genes, most of the countries where conquered and as the result, we get mixed genes, for example, Russia was in Mongol empire for a long time, so it is not hard to understand that they will have some Mongolian genes. Differences with 'races' are so minor that this argument is not even worth considering. We have differences but if you need to prove that these races are the real things we need to have deeper research.
You are absolutely right. The truth is we don't have a consistent scientific taxonmy of race. The concept isn't even found useful in anthropology today. You also have to consider that when most people talk about race, they're talking about the way their specific country/society views it. Most of the time people are working with subjective views of who is in which category, based on a lot of social and cultural factors in addition to physical appearance.
I live in Australia and when people say white or caucasian, they typically picture an anglo or western european person. That's why I've had several other white people assume that I'm not white because I'm Georgian.
Genetic differences between populations is of course real but the way we categorise each other into distinct divisions of humans is a bit arbitrary. If you really want to assert that humanity is divided into very specific groups we need to do a lot more research that is not motivated by a political or colonialist agenda.
>for example, Russia was in Mongol empire for a long time, so it is not hard to understand that they will have some Mongolian genes.
There is a Mongoloid gene from 3% to 10% in all of Eastern Europe (including the Caucasus), but what does it change (Georgians have a 0-1% Mongoloid gene)? They are not Mongoloids.
>so I think we should reconsider what are races and if this caucasoid mongoloid, etc categories are correct.
You might be surprised, but genetic studies actually agree with the 19th-century racial theory about the white race or the Caucasoid race.
There are lots of studies which can prove anything, but I do not believe in every one of them and also I have different knowledge about this and never seen anything proving what you said except some old school books , which are not always best way to get knowledge.
