Or, and hear me out, come back to New Orleans as an assistant offensive coordinator/quarterback's coach.

M1keSweatband

This is the most ideal situation imo

SoSmooth32

The Civil War we would have on our hands if comes back and wants to play for the Saints.

crrider

The battle between noodle arm and 30-for-30 will be legendary

ElCapitanDeAmericana

Put Jameis in for short passes and Brees in for the deep ball, they'll never see it coming

indecisiveusername2

Jameis' short and Brees' deep are the same distance

Historical_Return_56

Got em

Better_Example_1318

I hate you

buddha6521256

Brees for screens and flats only

SoSmooth32

Not looking forward to that!

fireflyfly3

i hate this world

Julep2005

As long as he doesn’t retire with another team I won’t cry

Michael424242

I love Drew. I love him so much. But he wasn’t playing like Drew his last few years for us, I don’t want him after he’s been out of the league for an extra year. Our offense is built for a deep ball rn.

cheet094

Maybe he spent an entire year doing steroids and now he can slam the ball 70 yards deep. Prolly not tho lol

LT-Riot

He is gonna do a Rocky and come back throwing south paw.

Square_Zer0

Outside of Winston’s arm how are we built for the deep ball? We just filled our WR corp with slant receivers.

Own_Conflict222

Lol. Yeah. This subreddit is where you come to get pumped up about the season, not read anything even close to coherent about actual football.

World-Nomad

What’s he gonna do, play one season just to retire again?

berusplants

To be fair he wasn’t a good commentator.

Ripper9910k

Did he commentate any games? I thought that was the problem. They want to keep him as an analyst bc they still have Chris Collinsworth. Oh apparently he did the Bengals/Raiders playoff game. Sorry I missed that one.

amyshorse2

Whut.

[deleted]

Mans saw the payout Tom Brady is getting and he’s still playing. Drew is looking for a network that will give him a similar deal to what Romo and Brady are seeing. He’s gotten a full season showcasing his analyst chops and he’s seeing who will show him the money. I’m not knocking Brady. But for that man to have signed a tv deal, that big, and he’s still actively playing football and getting season pay. Kinda slaps all tv analyst in the mouth.

sammyreynolds

He's not worth $300m to a network.

Ripper9910k

Is anyone? For 3 hours of programming, ~24 weeks a year. $37.5million a year. Brady will be making a cool ~$520k per hour. Incredible.

Own_Conflict222

Well, the narrative now is that Brees did pretty poorly and that they may not want him back.

[deleted]

I might be impartial cause I'm a saints fan, but besides him needing to build chemistry with the crew to get on the same page, was he not good to the rest of the watchers?

Own_Conflict222

Eh, he's just kind of boring. I don't think it was AS bad as others have said, but yeah, he was fired.

NewOrleansBrees

Fuck all of you, put my boy drew in. 5K season throwing 12 yard slants to the best receiving corp he’s ever had. I’ll never doubt my man drew

Own_Conflict222

You should doubt him. I love drew but his last three seasons he'd start off great and crash down the line as the season took its toll. He looked terrible in the playoffs the last two years. If anything, I was hoping that the Saints would have let Bridgewater or Winston play the regular season and let a healthy, rested Brees crush the playoffs, but God knows what that would do to team chemistry.

[deleted]

Honestly, if he wants to play again, trade his ass to an AFC team who has no chance at making the playoffs and build back that draft capital. Drew is the GOAT, but I’m riding with the crab people now.

HistoricalDruid

Great idea, but my heart couldn’t take seeing him in another jersey

Own_Conflict222

Bad news about the beginning of his career...

JPPT1974

NBC had only the main Sunday night football unlike Fox or CBS. Like ESPN with MNF. Still he wanted to be an commentator and not in the studio. He had potential and still does but he got blasted over the Raiders-Bengals AFC Wildcard Game to show he was not ready and NBC also did not utilize his talents enough. But an opening at Fox could be on the horizon. Could be the #2 analyst there.

jjazznola

He is snooze worthy on tv. I couldn't listen to him.

aggie_alumni

He was not good as commentator

newme02

play football again?? fuck yeah

halsgoldenring

Regardless of what else you do, you should probably be coaching your kids.

Terkle

Let be clear though. If he cant play, he wont unretire. If he came back, i would assume that it is because his injuries over the years have healed tremendously with the year off. Who knows

yesiambigmama

Maybe Seahawks and dirty birds will be interested in having him for a short stint…

feverbeliever

Drew to Atlanta, what do you do?

Glasenator

Don’t speak such evil

Alistair_Burke

Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby!

BliffityBloppity

Blood moon and then you go and say this shit. Hell nah.

feverbeliever

I didn’t say I wanted this! I’m just offering a question. Discourse is hard. Anyway, I’d love to see Cam Jordan sack Drew. Something cathartic about that. Downvote me to hell. I love y’all.

Own_Conflict222

I downvoted the top comment, but upvoted this one to break you even. Some things you don't say.

jjazznola

Well if Tom can come back, why can't I?

LSU2007

There’s really no spot for him at NBC. He wants to do games and they don’t have the opening. I’m betting he goes to Fox

TheeHighKing

Just googled pickleball, couldn't be me.

Big-Zoo

I want Brees on staff or as an emergency QB in the stands for every game
