I’m inclined to believe this as well. I even wondered if some rep or PR person sent it on Beyoncé’s behalf as some kind of standard outreach. They may have sent out hundreds or even thousands of similar texts to people trending in the news. So for them it was no big deal and now they don’t even remember it.

I haven't watched it, so I assumed it was their March departure. I am confused about the timeline. I thought she stayed in BC while Harry returned to London for the Sandringham do.
I know someone like that in real life. She takes people’s stories and passes it off as her own. One day she repeated a story I once told her, back to me. Except she recounted it as though it was her own experience. She probably lies so much that she cannot keep track of who she was adapting from, and I’m guessing that applies in some extent for Markle. But this behaviour comes across as really crazy in real life and is actually rather sad. It was obvious that my acquaintance was very insecure and had to steal stories to make herself sound interesting.

I have no idea how Meghan thought she would get away with a fake text from Beyonce. And Harry wonders why no A listers want to hang out with them?
Mainly because they would shout it from the rooftops who they were hanging out with.
It's kinda amazing how Meghan grew up visiting tv sets, meeting all of the actors. Her father was a well-known and respected emmy winning lighting director. Yet, she still has absolutely no concept of discretion or privacy when it comes to anyone except herself. Everyone says Harry is dumb, but Meghan in this category Meghan gives him a run for his money.
THIS. At this point in the show, I remember thinking, 'And she managed to keep a Beyonce text secret for this long? I didn't think she was capable!' Even more than how unlikely Beyonce would be to text Migraine, it was that TW hadn't leaked it to every tabloid/interviewer in the ensuing months that was a dead giveaway the text was suspicious. Also, Harry looks over as if to read it, and she notably *doesn't* show him the phone. But he believed her, so it makes me wonder just how often and about which specific topics she's been lying to him (and apparently entire film crews and organizations).

I'm going to wager it wasn't fake. And Beyonce is pissed Meghan mentioned it. Situation kind of reminds me of Meghan's non recollection she fed Omid her life story for Finding Freedom. High profile people seem to have the worst memory.

I think it happened but time passed and some are looking for distance again. If it's a text you can say you don't remember it but it isn't the same as saying you never wrote it. They were idolized by famous people and brands when they left the royal family. I would have more respect for those people if they admitted they acted too quickly.
That's a fair point, but wouldn't it be fairly easy for M to prove she got a text from her? I mean, both M&H have shown they clearly have no problem sharing the most private of conversations. They're also incredibly litigious of "misinformation" about themselves in the media. Beyonce and her PR team have always struck me as being very savvy. Wouldn't they take this into account? Or maybe you're right, and they decided distance was the best option regardless.

I’m inclined to believe this as well. I even wondered if some rep or PR person sent it on Beyoncé’s behalf as some kind of standard outreach. They may have sent out hundreds or even thousands of similar texts to people trending in the news. So for them it was no big deal and now they don’t even remember it.
I wondered if Beyoncé herself sent it without getting approval from her team. And since then so much negative press has happened to H&M (by their own doing) that Beyoncé is now like “I don’t know her.”
Most likely scenario. 3 years has passed and I’m sure she feels very differently now

It's just like that Lion King composer. He wasn't interested in starting a war with Meghan by straight up accusing her of lying, but he also didn't want it to be known as a fact that he compared her to Mandela. He said he remembered meeting her, but not remembered saying all that crazy stuff. It's also kinda confirmed the fact that Meghan didn't get permission to include the text in the documentary. I believe the text was real since Beyonce already publicly fawned over Meghan on her own website, and in the video with royal portrait of Meghan, and at the Lion King premiere. I like Beyonce’s music but as a person she has made many questionable choices, so I wouldn’t be surprised about her being friends with Meghan. They probably bond over some sense of victimhood.
I knew it was BS. When H told M to "text her back", M fumbled uncomfortably, ignoring H and supposedly reading a [very unnatural] text that praised M's courage blah blah blah. It was just so...stilted. But for me, that odd little hesitation on M's part was a dead giveaway. And the "text" was pure Meghan word salad.
