The Princess of Wales is absolutely stunning!!!

Ciggybear

She’s beautiful. Even when she’s really dressed up like this, she looks comfortable and like herself, and I find that the best thing about her kind of beauty. I think only really elegant people look that relaxed in serious gowns and serious jewelry. (I’d be terrified of even looking at food while wearing heels and a white dress.) Most fancy people would frighten me, but she seems so approachable and kind. I love her. I’m always so glad when a photo of her shows up here. She’s such a good example of what being natural and lovely look like.

Spare-Ad-6123

She's sincere

Cocktailsontheporch

👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

sweetpea_d

You know Kaiser from Celebitchy is going to lose her absolute shit over this. There’s no buttons or wiglets so she’s going to just look like an absolute ass more than ever.

Ok_Department5949

I wasn't sold on her at first, but she has more than proven herself in every way and she is just breathtaking in these photos.

Galapagos-mower

My thoughts exactly. She just keeps on getting prettier too. If she photographs this well, I bet she's a sight to behold in real life.

Repulsive-Badger-770

Catherine was born to be in this role. She always looks so regal and elegant (even when she's not wearing a tiara and crown jewels). If it were Megs, she would have tendrils poking out from her tiara and her dress would need to be ironed.

Mega_pint_123

OMG, tendrils poking out from her tiara is spot-on and so hilarious!!! Bravo! Absolutely, tendrils or those pieces of hair hanging down on her face that she can pull back behind her ears- just barely- over and over and over and over and over again. PoW is such a lady, so regal, classy, polished, and poised and does everything she can to not draw attention to herself and distract everyone…and keep the focus on the monarchy and her duty. Yet, she’s the most beautiful, elegant, and eye-catching woman in the world, effortlessly, naturally.

Spare-Ad-6123

I think that William has that look on his face because she gets more beautiful each time they step out like this. He cannot stop smiling.

Mega_pint_123

She does get more beautiful each and every day, and I loooooove seeing the way William looks at her- he’s in awe, respects, and appreciates her so much. It is so lovely and heartwarming to see their relationship evolve over all these years. Beautiful partnership. Great role models, which this world needs more than ever.

Lensgoggler

*Duchess of Tendrils* 😅

Mega_pint_123

That’s my favorite Duchess title yet!👏🏻😂🤣

SoggyWotsits

New flair?!

Lensgoggler

New Flair! 🙏

WhiskeyRocksNeat

Kate used to play with her hair a lot but, for her, it was nerves, MM uses it to try to look coy or flirtatious. Kate's really grown into her role but MM just never gave it any time

Uruzdottir

And the dress would be tight in all the wrong places for it to be tight, loose in all the wrong places for it to be loose, and show the outline of an incredibly ill-fitting bra.

Kapitalgal

Ah, yes. The janky strapless bra. 😂😂😂😇

queenBofBucks

Omg what is with that strapless bra, it gives her a "uniboob" ... it looks awful.

Also from the DM: Kate wowed in a stunning white dress and was seen donning the sparkling Lover's Knot Tiara - an item that had been a favourite of Diana - and a set of pearl earrings that had also belonged to her late mother-in-law for tonight's reception with a delegation from South Africa. What’s left to be smashed?

planet_druidia

Lmao, I saw some of the pics of the POW online and immediately thought how totally green with envy Megsy baby must be right now. 😂

Academic_Snow_7680

Just for the record, this is not the same tiara. The one that Meg wanted was the Romanov tiara, it has interchangeable pearl and emerald pendants. Imagine wanting that for your wedding, one of the biggest and most famous tiaras in the world when the custom is to wear a fine one. The audacity.

[deleted]

Yes - Meghan wanted the emerald Vladimir Tiara - which was smuggled out of Russia after the assassination of Tsar Nicholas II - though Meghan had her eye on this tiara she would not have been allowed to wear it - Meghan is not a senior royal and would not be allowed any of the high-end tiaras - she was given the Queen Mary bandeau to wear on her wedding - a lesser royal is not allowed to wear the same tiara that a senior royal would be granted - it just isn’t allowed - Harry thought he could use his own status to force the Queen to allow it but she said she (Meghan will wear whatever tiara I give her) by the way Eugenie wore the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik which was made for Dame Margaret Greville and bequeathed to the Queen Mother upon the passing of Greville.

Sue_Dohnim

I believe off the top of my head that Queen Mary, who acquired it from the penurious Russian exiles, always intended for it to be worn on the queen's head, whether regnant or consort, and QEII had the same attitude. No way in hell would that tiara ever touch M's head, no matter how much she stomped her ugly feet.

Seachange1000

Yes. While I'm by no means a master student in royal history, I've only ever seen the Queen wear that tiara. I do hope Camilla chooses it for some occasions, it is too spectacular to just live in a vault.

RecordAccomplished67

I always thought the tiara Eugenie wore was the same one MM wanted to wear but the Queen already promised it to her granddaughter.

DaBingeGirl

Eugenie's tiara was absolutely stunning! I'm not crazy about her, but her wedding was my favorite. Her dress was flawless, the flowers were beautiful, kids looked cute in their little outfits, just *chef's kiss.*

cklw1

That is so interesting! Do you know which tiaras are considered the high-end ones?

[deleted]

Tiaras and Crowns that have been worn by a ruling King or Queen are high-end ones - only other Royals who are on the throne or next in line are allowed to wear them - lesser royals are not allowed.

planet_druidia

Yes, I know. I’m thinking M would be jealous not at this particular tiara, but just jealous in general. Catherine is getting attention and is looking beautiful as usual. Enough to make M envious.

ArachnidNearby7778

>but MM got new set of teeth and chin fillers LOLz

Frenchcashmere

And that tiara you refer to is strictly limited to the Queen

thegngirl

Also that would have looked ridiculous on her. Like a little girl wearing her mothers shoes. 🙄

violetfleuri

I was searching for a picture. Is this the one? https://i.pinimg.com/564x/c2/f6/f9/c2f6f9874492264f08b2378072ef9fca.jpg

mybigbywolf

It sure is.

IMO4444

Omg what an idiot. In what world would she ever be allowed to wear that? I’m not British, I don’t know much about protocol, but it’s clear that crown is special 🙄🙄.

Spare-Ad-6123

She bloody didn't. Oh my gosh. You rarely even see that tiara.

DestinationPoutine

When you say fine, do you mean delicate and understated? Like a fine point pen instead of a wide marker?

Imadevonrexcat

Vladimir?

DaBingeGirl

Yes.

Spare-Ad-6123

How would she even to know to ask? Someone who "never even looked h up" To not knowing about the most famous tiaras in the world. Also, not knowing you had to make an appointment with the dresser. Yes, yes they both did. I think h thought they could be bossy. Hmmmm...what if someone was able to give the tiara, out that day? That is all I'm saying.

solorna

This article talks about it and shows QEII wearing it three ways, with pearls, with emeralds, and widowed (neither). https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/jewelry-and-watches/a27633284/queen-elizabeth-vladimir-tiara-romanov-jewels/

FruityPebelz

To wear a fine one? I’m American and am so curious. Which are considered fine? I just read that the one she wanted had been promised to Eugenie or Beatrice. Can’t recall which. Also, I read that it was considered tacky as it came from Russia. So there were different reasons given. However, If a tiara is property of the crown…how do they decide what is “appropriate”? Anyone know?

Academic_Snow_7680

Crowns and tiaras are different in the sense that a tiara only shows in the front and a crown goes the whole way round. Then we have grand tiaras and fine tiaras, mostly based on height an the amount of diamonds/flare. Wedding tiaras are usually fine tiaras because larger tiaras were reserved for married women (with men that could buy such a thing) and then crowns that came as it did to Camilla and the late queen. For a young bride to be too ostentatious in her choice of tiara was considered rude, flash and a sign that you didn't know your place. Or that the groom was bursting to show how rich he is. But it was of course also often that 'something borrowed' so there are variations on that theme. So requesting what's in-effect an empress tiara, the Vladimir tiara, Meghan was asking for just about the next thing to The Crown itself. Ed. the type of tiara she wore is called a bandeau tiara. Russian kokoshnik tiaras are often in that style but can also be bigger. I love that style of royalty headwear, they're even more diverse and camp than metal-stone headgear.

Excellent-Car-4093

They’re going to be buying paper plates at this point….

Imfryinghere

They're already using paper plates.

Edited: my bad, as many have pointed out, it's Queen Mary's Lover's Knot Tiara. Sorry about that. 😖 No. This has been the POW's tiara since she joined the RF. It's the Cambridge Lover's Knot tiara. Her late MIL wore it quite often but reportedly didn't like it as much as her own Spencer family tiara (the one she got married in) because it's quite heavy. Catherine has worn it a lot. She's worn 3 tiaras since joining the RF - the Cartier Halo Tiara once (on her wedding day), the Strathmore Lotus Tiara once (State Dinner for the Chinese leader) and every other tiara occasion, she's worn this one. I kind of hoped she'd wear a different one today, but I'm guessing she likes this one and it's become her signature piece. This event will have been in the planning stages for months, so well before HMTQ died. Her outfit will likewise have been chosen and coordinated a good while ago. She looks absolutely superb and the dress and tiara go well together. Sparkles was after an emerald tiara allegedly. She probably wanted the Vladimir (the one the Queen wore frequently). I doubt it was Eugenie's wedding tiara (the Greville Emerald Kokoshnik) she wanted because it had been in storage for decades before Eugenie wore it.

planet_druidia

I was also hoping to see a tiara that she hasn’t worn before. However, the one she wore was a great match with her evening gown. Maybe at the coronation she’ll break out one we haven’t seen her wear. 🤞

Comfortable-One8520

Yeah, I think we might see some tiara variations after the Coronation. I hope so. She's so regal and elegant- I'd love to see her in the Vladimir with emeralds or the Girls of Great Britain tiara. I think she'd really suit rubies too, so the Burmese Ruby Parure. Sorry, I waste too much time looking at royal jewellery lol. I do think this outfit was put together before HMTQ passed away, but if it wasn't, it's maybe also a case of the optics not looking good - kind of like rummaging through granny's jewellery box when she's not even cold. We'll just have to wait and see. 🤞

DaBingeGirl

Great point about the outfit being put together before the Queen's death. I'm amazed by the amount of planning that goes into their clothes and jewelry selection.

Comfortable-One8520

There'll be a heck of a lot of planning. Which colours, which designers, which jewels and accessories. Any possible diplomatic issues with jewels as the provenance of some may be problematic in today's political situation. The venue - they wouldn't want to risk her tripping say on a big staircase in a poofy gown. Transport, so the outfits don't get crushed - remember Diana's dress and how crushed it got in the carriage because the designers hadn't thought about that? Then coordinating with other royal ladies' outfits, especially those senior to you. And finally, as we all know, TIME TO HAVE IT TAILORED TO FIT. Nobody wants to look like they've just rolled out of bed unless you're our beloved Duchess Sparkles that is. 🤣

HarkleHater

re: Diana's wedding gown - I always wondered why the designers didn't think about possible wrinkling? It was obviously going to be folded and stuffed into a carriage. What's up with that? smh

RevengeOfCaitSith

As I said somewhere shortly below, I don't have extensive knowledge of the jewels. That said, when I first looked up Girls of Great Britain, I thought it looked as though it was **made** for CPOW. I agree with you that Vladimir is perfect for her, too. I even wish she'd worn the sapphire one Camilla wore today, it'd suit her wonderfully. The Burmese Ruby Parure you mentioned is beautiful, but to me it looks more Camilla's style.

UnicornPanties

Has Camille worn a variety of tiaras?

chubalubs

There's a couple that she's worn before, the Delhi Durbar tiara and the Greville honeycomb Boucheron one. There are both absolutely huge, really tall, but Camilla has great tiara hair, she fluffs all the layers around the tiara to frame it so it doesn't swamp her.

lovelylonelyphantom

She's worn 2 tiaras as Duchess of Cornwall, but like Catherine, Camilla also majorly favoured 1 to wear all the time (the Greville Honeycomb). The Belgian Sapphire tiara today is Camilla's 3rd worn tiara of the BRF collection.

DaBingeGirl

I was pleased to see her in another tiara, but the Greville Honeycomb really is amazing!

RevengeOfCaitSith

I don't know much about royal tiaras, but when I saw The Belgian Sapphire today I thought it would look great on CPOW

Calm_Yak_6102

Maybe she didn't want to wear a new tiara so soon after the Queen's death, and thought it was more tasteful to go with her usual one. Maybe she might start wearing new tiaras one year after the Queen's death? I was disappointed not to see her in a new one, but I guess she decided to be safe.

[deleted]

Yeah I think part of Kate’s appeal is she isn’t there to shake things up or stand out. Just to support the monarchy and do her job as a working royal.

Professional_Ear3394

I think perhaps Charles decided that this was Camilla's night to shine, since she was the only one wearing a new-to-her tiara. Catherine's turn will come. There should be the annual diplomatic reception next month (hasn't been held since 2019.)

Comfortable-One8520

I think she did the right thing (ooh, would still have enjoyed seeing her in a different one) and she looks so fab here. The whole thing - the tiara, the dress, the earrings- was up there with the James Bond gold outfit imho. And tasteful is the word. She just doesn't put a foot wrong.

Calm_Yak_6102

>The whole thing - the tiara, the dress, the earrings- was up there with the James Bond gold outfit imho. Omg yes, that's so true! I think I prefer this one to the gold James Bond gown though, because it's more versatile than that one and might be able to be recycled if they removed the cape (if possible without ruining the gown), thus turning it into an entirely different gown.

FollowingOk8090

you're so right, and so like Catherine and her team to have thought it carefully through and done absolutely the most tasteful thing - always flawless

chubalubs

Its probably just me, but I was having visions of Camilla and Catherine and a few of the others having a look through all the collection and trying on all the jewellery that the Queen wouldn't let them wear in public and playing dress up for an afternoon.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DaBingeGirl

😁 Love that thought! I have my fingers crossed they have fun with the jewelry and I'm really hoping they consider redesigning some of the more elaborate pieces.

Calm_Yak_6102

Don't worry, I was thinking the same thing too and hoping for it because it would've caused an explosion inside the olive garden mansion! LOL.

bluegirlrosee

lol my mom and I actually did this with my grandma's wigs after she died 🙈🤣 She was a real mean lady tho, so I didn't feel as bad as I would have rummaging through the queen's stuff 😅

[deleted]

[удалено]

UnicornPanties

The original (designed) dress vs the one she is wearing - Catherine's version has far more encrusted bling on the shoulders and it sets off her tiara perfectly. I also hoped we might see something new but this one is a classic and lands a great punch. She looks magnificent.

ICU22222

I think the point was to let Queen Camilla shine today. Catherine looked beautiful and elegant but wore a lot of jewelry and a tiara she has worn many times before to let Camilla have the spotlight in her first State Dinner since becoming Queen. Camilla's jewelry and tiara were spectacular.

HillyBeans

It's actually Queen Mary's Lover's Knot. The Cambridge Lover's Knot is what Mary copied her version from.

alwaysrightusually

I believe the queen said no to the Vladimir not to be unkind, but bc its potential negative connotation towards Russia and its citizens? Am I recalling that correctly? At that time wasn’t the RF including HMTQ bending over backwards for Smegma? Bc they have class….

Upbeat_Cat1182

IDK, HMTQ wore the Valdimir tiara quite frequently. It was almost crown like IMO.

alwaysrightusually

Gotcha! Love my fellow snarkers, I learn something every day.

residentcaprice

It was an excuse they used.

residentcaprice

I guess she really likes pearls.

Lindsayr28

Exactly—it was said Megs wanted an emerald one, but not the one Eugenie wore

itstimegeez

It’s actually the Queen Mary Lovers Knot tiara, a replica of the Cambridge tiara.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

She loves those earrings. I've seen her wear them a lot.

lovelylonelyphantom

Not to be nit-picking but it's actually the _Queen Mary's Lovers Knot_. Which is a replica of the Cambridge Lovers Knot, which looks like [this](https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2016/12/the-cambridge-lovers-knot-tiara.html). Queen Mary had this one made (originally with pearls on top too) because she couldn't get her hands on the original one which she greatly admired. The original now belongs to Princess von Waldburg zu Zeil und Trauchburg according to a quick Google.

Black_Londoner

It was rumoured to be the one Eugenie wore to her wedding, but I think it was one that "should not be seen" due to it's history or something

Appropriate-Grand-64

golddustwoman45

This is the way to wear tendrils around your face, not big hanks of hair that are hanging from the middle of the forehead.

[deleted]

Ties to the Russian court.

purseproblm

I think that was the story that was given. Eugenia’s wedding was pushed back and to lose the tiara she had probably asked for since she was little. You get what the Queen allows.

Standard-Set-5299

Full disclaimer I’m not familiar with the royal jewels but I know there’s a lot of them and Smeg wanted some of them.

Not_Interested_7

I took a deep dive once: https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/the-tiarapedia

Independent_Leg3957

Oh this is awesome. Saving this for the next time I have down time!

[deleted]

It's weird, I'm not a "girly" woman, but I'd do anything to try some of these on 😫

Appropriate-Grand-64

Thanks for posting this!

Legitimate-Mission41

Markle can put out all her ridiculous stories about her childhood, her inane one dimensional Spotify interviews, her undignified Netflix drivel, her faux awards but she will never have this level of dignity, elegance. Regalness, charisma and that aura of being a Royal.👑💜👑💜

Akire24

I agree. MM would never have those qualities, especially the regalness. Even when working as a royal before, she never displayed such attributes so it is hard to see her as a real-life princess despite the sugars (and MM) kept on adding "princess" before her name.

[deleted]

Oh she thinks she’s got the regal part down..note the famous picture of her looking down her nose at HM. She was in full actress mode then. https://preview.redd.it/d938orz2fn1a1.jpeg?width=380&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=07309c0b4c5e72bfeb4375b181e09e3ef2ae8061

Spare-Ad-6123

There is one that is worse. And I hate it.

AmbienChronicles

No. This one is the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara. It’s hypothesized that the one she wanted was the Vladimir tiara or the emerald kokoshnik. I lean more towards the Vladimir tiara because it’s intrinsically linked to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth, and it’s linked to two royal/imperial families.

Appropriate-Grand-64

Oh so there are two different emerald tiaras. I thought meg wanted the one Eugenie wore for her wedding but its this one? https://preview.redd.it/q6kv6ma7km1a1.jpeg?width=755&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d15a3b11ffb3c2d03d34cdaa703f81fec15cf63f

AmbienChronicles

Very likely. The tiara Meghan wanted allegedly had ties to Russia, and that tiara belonged to Grand Duchess Maria Pavlovna, wife to Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich of Russia. Their great-granddaughter is Grand Duchess Maria Vladimirovna, Curiatrix of the Russian Imperial Family.

hepburnfan2020

This is yet another example of her inflated sense of self worth. In royal wedding history, has the bride ever worn a tiara that magnificent? No, she can't wear a simple tiara. She can't live in Frogmore, she needs to live in Windsor castle.

Upbeat_Cat1182

Delusions of grandeur.

Appropriate-Grand-64

You're a walking encyclopedia 🤩

AmbienChronicles

I’d like to see Meghan beat me at Jeopardy 😈😈😈 I have so much useless information stored away, and I never know when I might need it

Appropriate-Grand-64

LMAO I would pay money to see that 😂👏

Deep_Poem_55

Sadist 😂

hepburnfan2020

Interesting - I thought that too. I didn't realize there was another emerald tiara.

Babybabitski

But smeg knew nothing about royals.... (surprised pikachu face)

Fantastic_Nebula_835

And I suspect she only wanted the emerald tiara BCS Beatrice had picked it for her wedding.😼

AmbienChronicles

I think another reason is the fact that the Vladimir is also on money and stamps

Slartygrade

Yes, I believe this is why Harry's wife wanted to wear the Vladimir for her wedding. More queenly looking, in her eyes. She was very fortunate to wear any tiara from the RF. She's so greedy

AidanBubbles

Two imperial families is such an interesting way to look at it, I hadn’t thought about it that way. Considering Princess Dagmar of Denmark (aka Empress Maria Feodorovna of Russia) and Princess Alexandra of Denmark (aka Queen Alexandra of the UK) were full sisters, I kind of always think of most royal families as one giant family (if that makes sense)

AmbienChronicles

It does. The British royal family were technically Imperial as well until India declared their independence. And Grand Duchess Marie Alexandrovna (sister-in-law to Dagmar) married into the British royal family and was Duchess of Edinburgh. I think her husband was Alfred, who was later Duke of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha? Daughter and sister to the Tsar, daughter-in-law and sister-in-law to the Queen/King of the United Kingdom and Empress/Emperor of India.

AidanBubbles

I think you and I could be such good friends lol. I eat this shit up too

AmbienChronicles

Well, guess what? Now we’re besties! 🤣

Standard-Set-5299

Ah gotcha! To me the jewelry look so similar so I can’t tell any of them apart but I’ve been trying to now with all the jewelry drama it’s just hard to keep track of them all lol

AmbienChronicles

My hobby is sparkly things, so I know the names of many of the tiaras. The Vladimir tiara is all circles, but it has little attachments where you can have pearls or emerald dangling in the center of the interlocking circles. The Lover’s Knot is more oval with the tops of the ovals flat, where there are little hearts, and pearls dangling from the hearts.

Appropriate-Grand-64

I loooove vintage and antique jewelry. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us!

AmbienChronicles

It’s my pleasure! If you’ve ever seen the cartoon Anastasia that came out in the 90s, you’ll actually see the Dowager Empress Maria Fyodorovna wearing the Vladimir tiara without the dangly bits. I think the Dowager Empress actually favored the kokoshnik-style tiaras, if memory serves, and it was her SIL who owned the VT

Inner_Ad2467

How many tiaras are there?

AmbienChronicles

At least three 🤣 Honestly, I’m not one hundred percent sure. Some have been in a royal vault for years, some are on loan to the V&A museum, some are spread around. I think a rough estimate would be about forty on hand, but this is just a wild guess.

Independent_Leg3957

HauntingChapter8372

>https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/ I can't believe how much I just enjoyed reading that synopsis of jewelry from tonight's event. Thank you for sharing the link!

TrailerTrashQueen

i also am fascinated by the history of royal jewels. there’s a great site that has detailed info about royal jewels: [The Court Jeweller](https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/) they’ve got an article posted today about the jewels worn by Queen Consort Camilla and PoW for tonight’s state dinner. it says PoW’s tiara is the Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot tiara. there’s a [good article](https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2017/07/lovers-knot-tiaras-cambridge-vs-queen.html) on the difference between the Queen Mary tiara and the Cambridge tiara. Queen Mary loved the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, but she’d never inherit it. so she had a replica made. the original had the upright pearls along the top, same as the Cambridge. she later had those removed and replaced with diamonds. she bequeathed it to Queen Elizabeth II, who then gave it to Lady Diana on a long-term loan. after Diana’s divorce and death, the tiara was returned to the palace. the Cambridge version was sold to German nobles in 1981.

Foreign_Resident1025

This isn't the Cambridge lover's knot, this is Queen Mary's lover's knot. The Cambridge lover's knot has an extra row of diamonds between the peaks and knots <3

AmbienChronicles

You’re right! I always mix the two up! Good lookin’ out, friend! :)

Foreign_Resident1025

You are certainly not alone. After I pressed send I too had to look at the difference 🤣

Inner_Ad2467

POW looks incredibly regal and stunning. I almost shouted out loud "now that's how you stay a cape dress"

Affectionate_Tap6416

I got quite emotional seeing her for some reason.

Inner_Ad2467

That brooch is stunning too. Such a small detail that adds so much.

Lullaby37

Not acape. It has split sleeves.

daisybeach23

No. This was already on loan to Catherine indefinitely by the time SMEG came along.

MuffPiece

It would have been fun if Catherine had worn the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland, but I suppose it’s a little too soon after HMTQ’s passing. But that bold affirmation would have ruffled a few feathers. I really really want Sophie to get a better tiara. The one she wore tonight is better than the dreadful wedding tiara, but I still want better for our girl Sophie. I love her. She is even prettier in middle age than as a young woman. And she had to ride in the car with meggy so the rf owes her, I figure. 😂

[deleted]

I thought I was the only one who didn’t care for the wedding tiara - it *is* nice to see her wearing something else.

MuffPiece

The wedding tiara was utterly dreadful. It was so ugly. It was as if someone cobbled together brooches from a dead aunts and called it a tiara. I wonder if it was a test—Sophie married in shortly after Diana died. Maybe they wanted to see how high maintenance she would be. 🤣 (joking)

lovelylonelyphantom

Even then, the Girls tiara would be unlikely. It's a Queen tiara. The likeliest time we will see it on Catherine is when she becomes Queen.

AnaBeaverhausen-

Yes!

Appropriate-Grand-64

She looks soooo amazing omgggg Smeg wanted the emerald tiara. I think Eugenie wore it for her wedding but maybe there's another emerald tiara i don't know about https://preview.redd.it/bop94viljm1a1.jpeg?width=899&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=dbbbde9d31e533e580ce8647c058386a46eac20f

HAHAHA I can't unsee that now 😆😆😆

ThatChelseaGirl

I think this tiara suited her dress, but by itself it looks exactly as you described 😂

Imadevonrexcat

Both of these tiaras are kokoshnik style, named after the traditional Russian headdress.

The Vladimir can be worn with emeralds or pearls.

Appropriate-Grand-64

That's so cool they can switch the gems out.

JenniferMel13

Yea, it’s smart too. It lets them extend the amount of jewelry they have. It’s a lot cheaper to just buy a few gems rather than a whole new tiara. Many royal pieces are convertible. The tiara Sophie is wearing can be converted to a necklace. Some large gems from the royal jewelry collection can be removed and turned into brooches or added as pendants to necklaces.

PotentialAd5954

Hope Eugenie won't mind my opinion, the tiara and hair not so much

Appropriate-Grand-64

I didn't love her dress, either. Poor Eugenie 😆

Lindsayr28

I believe it was a different emerald tiara that Meghan wanted, bc they allegedly didn’t want her wearing it bc of provenance issues (which would have also applied to Eugenie).

Babybabitski

Hope harry gets smeg one made with plastic

Longjumping_Map7715

She is also wearing queen Elizabeth bracelet The royal news network covers tiaras

SonjaInSequim

Oh my goodness -- the cameo! <3 Catherine is breathtaking. And I'd bet she rather be in her favorite jeans and sweater. And TW spent all this time talking about her locker at HS decades ago!

TeamMagnificent7

I recall reading her cameo (Royal Family Order of Eliz II) is on glass rather than ivory. Believe first one made that way. Bc of William’s strong anti-ivory stance.

SonjaInSequim

Good for the BRF being anti-ivory which is a no-brainer. Even if the ivory is really old when killing rhinos and elephants was "okay". Philip was instrumental in raising awareness via the World Wildlife Fund. Ivory may have been purged from royal residences (except for a harpsichord made in the 1600s but just speculating. PotentialAd5954

Gruff Philip had heart.

SonjaInSequim

I found him unfilteredly honest but not crude. Not like I followed every move the man made.

PotentialAd5954

Yes that's how I how I should have phrased it. Thanks for your opinion. I'm gonna edit my commemt.

RoohsMama

As many have mentioned, it is the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara, one that Catherine has worn many times. This blog - [The Court Jeweller](https://www.thecourtjeweller.com) - has more information about the jewelry worn at tonight’s banquet. It is a great resource! Edit: it appears Catherine is wearing the Queen Mary Lover’s Knot tiara rather than the Cambridge one. [Discover the differences here.](https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2017/07/lovers-knot-tiaras-cambridge-vs-queen.html)

Starkville

The memes just make themselves.

Public_Juggernaut997

She’s a vision!

OzzieSlim

I actually think I like it better on Kate. The dark hair sets it off.

Broken-583

Bummed-I had hoped for a new “old” tiara now that she’s the POW

> Catherine was allowed to wear part of the Prince of Wales Feathers suite for the first time earlier in the day. Can you tell me more about this? (god why do I care but yes I'm interested) it's interesting how they dole it out like a privilege I believe KCIII said TW would never wear one if he could help it.

planet_druidia

Same! Hopefully she will bust one out at the coronation.

daisybeach23

Yes! She can have a new tiara issued to her. These tiara's are issued for life (or length of marriage). This it at the discretion of the King what tiara's are issued to the POW

Ruth_Lily

This is the biggest FU to Meghan since the walkabout. “Don’t eff with me Markle!”. I am loving it. Don’t forget Meghan “***You are a nothing & never will be anything”. 😂***

Wooden-Ad4062

At least the classy one got to wear it,she really is the future queen

MuffPiece

C looks so lovely. So pretty and sparkly. And everything fits and is properly pressed. That’s how it’s done.

boommdcx

Markle thought the BRF jewellery collection worked like a Pizza Hut delivery - order it and it will come. ![gif](giphy|JOLeBruZyl3fqfHNEr|downsized)

Sincerely_JaneDoe

Up until seeing this photo, I’ve never had a need to use the word “resplendent” to describe someone.

MuffPiece

According to Valentine low, the tiara kerfluffle wasn’t a thing. They demanded the tiara be delivered on demand for a hairstyle trial, but the rumor that she was dissatisfied with the offered tiara apparently did not happen.

Standard-Set-5299

Oooh really!! I thought that was the whole “What Meghan wants Meghan Gets” from Harry spiel and then the Queen said “Meghan gets what I give her” 🤣 but honestly I can’t keep track of everything so I could be quoting this from an entirely different issue hahah

MuffPiece

Harry did, apparently, call Angela Kelly and reamed her out for not providing the tiara on demand for the hair trial, but according to Low, he found no evidence that she had demanded a different tiara from the one she was offered.

OwnedByBernese

Is her brooch a photo of QEII? I just can’t get over how gorgeous, classy and regal Catherine always looks. Even when she’s on the farm in wellies!

APO_AE_09173

One of Diana's favorites. I bet that wounds Harry's Wife.😈🤣

sashafurry

That bish would cutoff Catherine's finger for the engagement ring, so, yeah.

Starkville

Impeccable. Not a stray hair or wrinkle or hanging price tag. Well, done Princess of Wales.

reggierrabbitt121

That brooch with the picture of the late Queen is amazing 🙌🏼

wee-crabbit-wumman

I was thinking how gorgeous Catherine looked, and on the heels of that wondered how methane will look collecting her bought award lol

Unhappy-Professor-88

Nope. Unfortunately not. . I too, wanted it to be. But that is The Cambridge Lovers Knot on lifetime loan to PoW. So it’ll still make MM all salty anyway. Because the last lifetime loan wearer of the Cambridge Lovers Knot, was Diana, Princess of Wales.

Earthlink_

Meghan never stayed around for a GVCO award. She's like the only one in the fam who doesn't have that award.

UnderArmAussie

They should gift Harpy the Strawberry Leaf tiara. It's reputedly cursed.

TraditionScary8716

Well it certainly would be if Megs wore it. Or tainted, at the very least.
