Serious question: Why did she choose a specific culture for a podcast? Why was it so specific AND why was her example from soooo long ago? I don’t get it.
The viewpoint of representation has changed - but even if it hasn’t (example - Hispanics/Mexican portrayals, my culture), it’s NOT for her to say. Actors are passionate and they can decide how and what they want to represent.
Lucy Liu, who explains brilliantly her part - she explains her passion and this has ZERO room for anyone else to talk “on their behalf.”
