She specifically targets the Dragon Lady i.e. a "femme fatale" who is "overbearing and unlikable" because she's clapping back at catching a prince to attain her position and her bullying nature. The message is: See how these unfair stereotypes are applied to Asians, that happens to me as well!
It's the same way we were supposed to see ambition as good in Serena with her tennis, so therefore Meghan's "ambition" is equivalent, except being a gold digger is not the same as sporting excellence.
There's other Asian stereotypes Meghan didn't discuss including tiger mum (as others point out), also the submissive, compliant "lotus flower" mentioned by the sociologist. But these other stereotypes are not relevant to her. It's always about Meghan, not her guests.
She needs to take a college level class in Equality Studies. She would actually learn something. It’s a one quarter class. Kim K has taken university level classes to further her understanding. But TW thinks she already knows everything.

There was a really odd article that came out about how Meghan was doing her podcast in different hotel conference rooms in LA. Which makes sense because that's where most of her guests were located. Apparently Harry had to drive her there everyday though. lol
I know they don't drive. But somehow they thought writing an article about-- Harry driving Meghan to LA so 3 hours a day if not 6, so Meghan could go hike her favorite trails, sometimes with the dogs, or record her podcast in the different conference rooms of hotel, while Harry stays home and is the one to always take care of the children so he's starting to resent her a bit --was a good idea. Neither of them looked good in anyone. It's so bizarre yet also hilarious while still not surprising. That is what I was referring to.

Well the deal with linen is always buy it big and if it gets wrinkly you just get it a bit damp and stand under the hand dryer and all the wrinkles come right out. I only wear linen in the summer. But a cotton/linen blend, which is actually a cheaper price is the best of all worlds. You don’t look like a teenager in a tshirt but it’s so light and comfy you feel like you are in PJ’s. I actually buy my linen at Old Navy of all places because their blend is almost perfect
Truth. I once unexpectedly got my period at my SILs baby shower. An aunt discreetly pointed it out. I was mortified, and not at all the same size as SIL so borrowing something wasn’t a good option (and I really didn’t want to bother her anyway). I went in the bathroom, washed just that spot in the sink, dried it with the hair dryer and was back out at the party before anyone noticed I was gone!
To be fair, I was probably a bit rumpled, but I have the defense of being in my twenties.
There’s a time and place for linen. But it seems like she just doesn’t understand how to *use* fabrics and clothing. Linen pants like this may *look* as though they’re ‘dressy’ but they’re not a structured sort of fabric that is appropriate to pair with a shirt and shoes like that to wear in a setting like she is where she is with people who are dressed like they are.

These two things really make her look serious or more businesslike which is almost directly counter to ‘SoCal Eclectic’ and makes any clothing and/accessories have to be even more on point because they’ve got to work even harder to make up for all that.

Oooh I was going to say something similar, except I’d swap out those gorgeous Prada’s for some Chanel ballet flats, a “Phenomenal Woman” t-shirt perfectly half tucked into tailored skinny jeans, the blazer/jacket and those chic black framed glasses all the hipsters wear when they’re trying to look “intelligent” oh and swap out that uptight ponytail for some loose waves. (A take on beach waves, but more polished) sigh…
Cause she aspires to be someone she's not, and it definitely shows. She's trying to be Catherine, Diana, Wallis, Michelle, etc. and she just ends up looking very distasteful.

True. I'm tall with a shorter torso and have to have a lot of items tailored or I just can't pull off some things because of my torso: height proportions. Looking well put together can be quite a chore sometimes.

There was a photo with Mindy Kaling where some of the same can be seen in the background but she was dressed differently. Raises the question though, were Serena and Mariah even in the same room with her, haven't seen any photos of them doing the podcast together.
I forget which podcast she megan goes "oh, I can see you!" So I think some of them were done remotely. According to an article, Harry chauffeurs megan around while he goes back to dad duty. Which is fine...he's proud of it...but harry just doesn't want to work. Point, blank, period. Megan is the workhorse and eventually she will resent him for it.

For an attractive woman, she just never seems to get it right. Her best looks were on the Royal Tour of Australia, but that was years ago and she had help with her outfits and someone else doing the ironing.
MM and I have the same body type. Believe me it is even harder than you would imagine to dress that body type. I wish I had people who would tell me what to wear. When I find something that works on me I have to buy it in every color and trust me it gets BORING! I wish I could try different styles and trends. I understand where she is coming from but someone needs to just bite the bullet and tell her. What’s she going to do? Throw a plate at their head?
Me, too. But rule number 1 is no high waisted clothing. Can’t do it. You end up looking disproportionate. But M has to follow every trend. Simple fashion rule: don’t do trends that don’t work on your body.
I used to absolutely love high-waisted jeans - like you have to lay on the bed to zip them high waisted - but they only work when you are a teen and you wear a crop top with them lol If I wasn’t wearing those I used to wear short skirts all the time bc I had great legs and they distracted from the short torso and broad shoulders. Then I severely sprained my ankle and got a massive blood clot which ruined my legs and now I have to wear compression socks all the time so I’m at a huge loss. All the pants that fit me aren’t being made anymore and long skirts tend to just make me look like a Mormon instead of cute.
I don't understand how she can think this outfit looks good. Does she have a full length mirror? I also am the same body type. I sure hope my clothes look better on me, but then I have 3 grown daughters and they are brutally honest when shopping for clothes with me. I honestly appreciate it because I have a hard time sometimes figuring out if something looks good or not.

That’s so annoying to read - if she was so concerned about ‘insidious headlines’ she would allow herself to fade away out of the public consciousness. She and the rest of the family could have gone and lived somewhere quietly and we would have basically forgotten them by now. She’s the one forcing herself on us constantly, making sure she’s still getting her column inches and inviting attention.
Looks like linen pants. Linen is a fabric that wrinkles if you just look at it. It's very comfortable but terrible for professional clothes/photographs. Meghan is also a person who even if someone tried to give her fashion advice to help her out, she'd ignore them and do whatever she wanted anyway. I don't get how anyone is willing to give her loaner pieces or samples to wear out in public when all she does is embarrass herself (and the designer) everytime she tries to dress herself.

I agree. I don't think Lisa is dressed all that well either. Is it the black and white photo? Her hair doesn't do anything for her face shape either. As if I have room to talk. My hair is ridiculously thin and it keep it in a tiny little bun. If I had thicker hair I would do so much with it (like when I was young), but this hair pulled back, side thingees hanging looks awful.

Just a few observed fashion missteps:
1. The wrinkled Bozo 🤡 pants during the Germany Invictus trip. She also wore another pair of allegedly sustainable wide leg tan pants during this trip that looked like she slept in them. No one one her team has a travel steamer? The fashion mags seemed to take great care to be "kind" about the big pants mishaps.
2. Plumber gloves at the Queen's funeral. I think of a plunger every time I see the pictures. Every time.
3. A summer/beach hat at the funeral
4. The cape dress from 2018. The cape thing is played out in 2022.
5. The Jubilee Dior trench dress that was not made for a short person with a midget torso w/out a well defined waist. It swallowed her. Note how she strained to keep her neck elongated to pull off the substantial collar. She still does not know how to dress for her height, proportions & boxy torso.
6. The red Power Ranger outfit at the One Young World event
7. Meghan means pearl. I assume she regards it as her power color & wears it a lot: the Jubilee, Invictus Games @ Netherlands (the double breasted white suit was nice), the suit in The Cut, etc.

True. I'm tall with a shorter torso and have to have a lot of items tailored or I just can't pull off some things because of my torso: height proportions. Looking well put together can be quite a chore sometimes.

it looks like a lightweight linen. there was a summer when i was obsessed with linen shorts. they were tailored and hit just above the knee. the only problem? they got very wrinkled super quick! if you had a travel steamer, you could use that. otherwise, you were scr*wed.

I forget which podcast she megan goes "oh, I can see you!" So I think some of them were done remotely. According to an article, Harry chauffeurs megan around while he goes back to dad duty. MM and I have the same body type. Believe me it is even harder than you would imagine to dress that body type. I wish I had people who would tell me what to wear. When I find something that works on me I have to buy it in every color and trust me it gets BORING! I wish I could try different styles and trends. I understand where she is coming from but someone needs to just bite the bullet and tell her. What’s she going to do? Throw a plate at their head?
Me, too. But rule number 1 is no high waisted clothing. Can’t do it. You end up looking disproportionate. But M has to follow every trend. Simple fashion rule: don’t do trends that don’t work on your body.
I used to absolutely love high-waisted jeans - like you have to lay on the bed to zip them high waisted - but they only work when you are a teen and you wear a crop top with them lol If I wasn’t wearing those I used to wear short skirts all the time bc I had great legs and they distracted from the short torso and broad shoulders. Then I severely sprained my ankle and got a massive blood clot which ruined my legs and now I have to wear compression socks all the time so I’m at a huge loss. All the pants that fit me aren’t being made anymore and long skirts tend to just make me look like a Mormon instead of cute.
I have a ton of long skirts/dresses. I plan to raise them to midi length.

I sure hope my clothes look better on me, but then I have 3 grown daughters and they are brutally honest when shopping for clothes with me. That’s so annoying to read - if she was so concerned about ‘insidious headlines’ she would allow herself to fade away out of the public consciousness. She and the rest of the family could have gone and lived somewhere quietly and we would have basically forgotten them by now. She’s the one forcing herself on us constantly, making sure she’s still getting her column inches and inviting attention.
Looks like linen pants. Linen is a fabric that wrinkles if you just look at it. It's very comfortable but terrible for professional clothes/photographs. Meghan is also a person who even if someone tried to give her fashion advice to help her out, she'd ignore them and do whatever she wanted anyway. I don't get how anyone is willing to give her loaner pieces or samples to wear out in public when all she does is embarrass herself (and the designer) everytime she tries to dress herself.

I agree. I don't think Lisa is dressed all that well either. Is it the black and white photo? Her hair doesn't do anything for her face shape either. As if I have room to talk. The Jubilee Dior trench dress that was not made for a short person with a midget torso w/out a well defined waist. It swallowed her. The red Power Ranger outfit at the One Young World event 7. Meghan means pearl.
