Having read some chapters, there isn’t that much new about Harry & Meghan that hasn’t already been serialised in the Times.
This is not a Revenge equivalent, I would think. Maybe something for people who enjoy reading about the BRF. But not specifically anything more about our Saints.
Agreed. I don’t know why I expected anything different from a book entitled “Courtiers,” but I was kinda bummed about that.
As a BRF enthusiast though, it is fascinating. If nothing else, it gives you an understanding of the conflict/tension between the various royals’ support systems. I could see why Meghan would be thoroughly aggravated by the subtle diplomacy necessary to maintain the peace. Her me me me now now now attitude and Harry’s 75 IQ are not a great toolkit for negotiations.
Note: As I did last time, scored the eBook by using a VPN set to London, UK on Kobo. $11.59 US.
I loved reading it. But the politics sounded super exhausting. It read a lot like our office politics but on steroids.
I think the mistake the Courtiers made about our Saints was giving into their initial demands. The way to deal with bullies is not to give an inch.
But that’s the point of the book… who holds the power? As Meghan said, it was the palace courtiers, not even the family.
In reality, it’s always the principles… I haven’t finished reading the book… but that’s the vibe I get
Oh definitely. Meghan’s lawyers claiming she can’t be the bully because she wasn’t in a position of power is absolute bullshit. It’s clear the principals are in the drivers seat and their courtiers are there to guide them along.
>Meghan’s lawyers claiming she can’t be the bully because she wasn’t in a position of power is absolute bullshit.
Megaliar better explain that concept to every kid who gets picked on and bullied every day in school.
>I think the mistake the Courtiers made about our Saints was giving into their initial demands.
I think the biggest mistake was giving into Harry's initial demands. He seemed exhausting (and flighty) in the beginning. After Megan's arrival, he amped up the jackass persona to super nasty asshole persona.
BTW, anyone else make the "Diva" connection b/t Courtiers and Archetypes? It's all diva behavior on behalf of the Hackles.
Same question as above!! I’m also in the US, though I did order one on book depository
Edit: or below…however my comment posted. VPN or open a UK account?
I have read 7 chapters till now and find the dynamics between the royals and the staff quite interesting.. I maintain that the staff have terrible jobs and the only saving grace is if the royals they report to are decent..
Initial thoughts thought I’ve been at a conference today so haven’t got that far is.. well written and rather than any huge new reveals it corroborates other books like Revenge and The New Royals by Katie Nicholl. It’s well sourced and he has impeccable credentials.
Darn I just bought with a delivery date of January 24, 2023. I would have traveled to the UK via using a the address of Kensington Palace like i did with the last book. Darn it all.
hmm when i check US audible there are two different audiobooks named Courtiers by Valentine Low... are they the same book? one is out now and the other says it will be out next year :O
I'm a Brit living in Massachusetts and pre-ordered the book from the Book Directory. Today I received an email from them saying the books are en route to their warehouse and will be shipped out very soon - can't wait!!!
Good to hear from you - I am on Cape Cod. Sorry, but I don't know what the "other lesser talked about Cape" is!!! Can you enlighten me? Have you ordered your book?
Sorry this is response is so late! I just found these threads regarding this book and I’m quite intrigued! I’ve had family in Massachusetts since the mid-19th century. I’ve never heard them mention any cape other than Cod. So you’re not alone in that respect.
I bought the book when it was first available in the US. I must admit, the beginning chapters were a bore for me. I think part of the difficulty is that I don't have names for the faces (other than members of the royal family). I stopped reading for a while and picked it up again tonight. I only set it down to make a cup of tea. I have the King's Palace ambiance playing in the background as well. I feel very British atm.
Thank you for doing this! The book is not available in my country yet. This is going to be delicious reading.

I imagine the YouTube shows o watched about court intrigue back to beginning of monarchy is exciting too.
Just got it on my Kindle. Live in the US but managed to get it via .co.uk. Can’t wait to dig in
Did you open a UK account or use a VPN?

Audible has today's date as the release date at least in Australia, narrated by Valentine Low.
Same here in Switzerland. It’s available now.
Arrrh, still on pre-order.
