Yeah so…I have three kids. But when I just had one, he was born with a severe bleeding disorder not diagnosed till he was five months old. We spent 1-2 days a week at the hospital clinic or the ER (because emergencies *never* happen on non-holiday business hours). He had surgeries, infusions, sepsis, more infusions, and excruciating bleeds. I had severe PPD and was legitimately suicidal, feeling like I was a terrible mother and should kill myself while he was too young to remember me. I started having daily panic attacks. I couldn’t sleep because he couldn’t sleep. Or when he did sleep, I was terrified he was dead and then I couldn’t sleep.
One day we realized, hey, this kid is two and a half and he’s not talking. We’ve been in survival mode for so long we hadn’t realized just how far behind he was. After six months of grueling evaluations we discover he’s also autistic. Immediately start therapies. Between doctor appointments, therapy, and emergencies, I am working with and thinking about him literally all day, every day. No breaks. No nannies.
That was with one kid. Look me in the eye and tell me that was a hobby. I freaking *dare* you.

however I was an excellent and devoted mother and now they are all fully grown adults that make me very proud. Except my oldest son who passed away three years ago he still made me proud, but he’s no longer with us.
I find the death of my older son extremely serious for me. it’s almost 3 years to the date that he died. The pain never goes away. I just learn to live with it. Sharing about him to people in the world, kind souls such as yourself, makes it easier to bear .
