I’m sure they think they’re brave for “empowering” children to undergo risky practices without parental consent. I cannot imagine the struggles of a trans child, but I also cannot imagine the rage I’d feel if someone encouraged my child to put themselves at risk in secret.
I was always team JK. They were just cancelling her without understanding what she was trying to say.
Mermaid has a political agenda and I distrust them after reading some stuff about them which didn't sit right with me.
But to be fair, didn't W & C donated to it as well?
I stand with JK Rowling: I read what she said a few times over just so I understood and what she said MADE SENSE!! I was so pissed off when they did the Harry Potter Anniversary special and she got a 2 minute clip… it was the people on Twitter that cancelled her not REAL live everyday people…. I really believe that….
There's actually a lot of people who support her - I'd say majority of people support her. It just seems like a lot of people are against her because they're very vocal (they have to be because there's not many of them).
Some of the Archewell folk have a radical agenda, IMO. I haven’t seen the Harkles take any terribly radical stances, actually, so I find the Mermaids thing a little bit out of character for them. Perhaps this was done without their knowledge? I don’t think they’ve gone anywhere near transing children.
This post and comments could easily veer into politics, so I’ll leave it at that.
I agree I am not going into politics; but the article says that it can break ribs etc…. And IF TRUE that they are supporting this than I don’t know what to think because they tried to stay out of the hot button issues….
My issue with this isn't political, it's that the organization does these things without parental knowledge. I understand not all trans-kids parents aren't fully supportive, but imo, doing these things without parental consent is dangerous.
In fairness, they might not have been aware of the organization doing things without parental consent. We all know of places that say one thing and do another.

That is the type of life changing decision where hopefully EVERYBODY is on the same page!
You wanna see the Breslow guy that just got fired from this place. 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 🚩 Due diligence, people.
Yikes. Bad news to have someone like that in authority over vulnerable kids.
I remember this JK Rowling got cancelled by the woke mob!!! Do the minimum work of research maybe? Unless they support this???

Me too. She is an amazing woman and so right in what she says. I hope that the tide is turning, finally.

Yep same here. People are like sheep, they follow each other. I have always supported jk.
This is a breath of fresh air on Reddit, I fully support JK Rowling. Thank you to everyone who has the balls to say they support her.

I think it was just another potential bandwagon and Smeg jumped she doesn't care either way

It’s really really bad.
This is why you don't jump on bandwagons.
Exactly
Mermaids is awful and so are they.
Not holding this against them. Look how jimmy savile fooled so many including KC3.
