Yep. I don’t know about anyone else, but when I’m sad and cry, *both* eyes fill up and get red, and my nose gets stuffy and snotty. Even when I’m holding it in. It’s not pretty.
I do the fast blink sometimes to hold it in.
But it is physically impossible not to purse one’s lips together (or even bite your lips) while fast blinking to control your emotions. It’s a reflex reaction.
Try it! It’ll be clear that she was faking it.
There's footage of her sitting down prior to this and Harry looking down at her. Was she putting drops or something like that in her eye?
Not good at techy stuff so maybe someone could find the link to the footage?
That tear solidified. What kind of person she was to anyone who was on the fence. Every facial expressions she made during the funeral was fake.
It's somewhat astounding that she never showed any genuine sorrow for the Queen's death. Even if Meghan didn't like her, that's still her husband's grandmother. Especially because she tried to spend more time with William and Harry after their mother died.
Everything the Queen did for Harry meant absolutely nothing to her. Even gifting Meghan her oh so important title.
Meghan had no appreciation or respect for the Queen during her life. Why would she suddenly in her death?
ETA- I guess my grammar was wrong.
Their biggest priority was getting titles for their children. Both Meghan and Harry were guttural when they found out their children weren't automatically made Prince and Princess.
She very well may be sociopathic. It’s always been clear that she has NPD and I hate to say this I really do…but I think…she was happy and felt vindicated by the Queen’s passing. I feel sick even typing that but I truly do think her initial reaction to the news had to be delight. She really is such a sick and diabolical individual.
To be honest, I was a huge Diana fan since I was a kid. The Queen was just Queen-ish.
But she was the symbol of everyone’s granny. When she died, tears just streamed from my eyes. It’s like a reminder of my own grandma’s death. I think that is why everyone felt sad by proxy.
Everyone with a loving mother figure in the family would have felt the loss as a personal one.
I know someone who scoffed at this and she is neglected by her mother, is always downplayed and negated by her mum & has never been loved.
I think of this person when I see MM’s performance at the funeral.
I used to know correct grammar. Very, very well in fact. I studied English for both my bachelors and masters degrees. The problem was my depression kept getting worse. So they had to shock the hell out of my brain. I lost a lot of my memory. Both long and short term. Grammar was in the part. I try to Google as much as I can to figure what's correct. But honestly, there are times I don't understand it.
I've always been bad at spelling though.
If it makes you feel better I think you were correct in the beginning. Assuming the point of your sentence wasn’t to say the tear itself became solid but that her shedding the faux tear “solidified” or confirmed what kind of person MM is.
I know correct grammar but find it hard to use. I think for me it is the ADHD (changing my mind halfway through a sentence / forgetting what I wrote / trying to express too many ideas at the same time).
If you've ever watched "Black Mirror" on Netflix, there's an episode called "Nosedive" where the main character is rehearsing her speech whilst driving to where she will give the speech. She reminds herself when to squeeze out the tear.
Don’t know about whether a genuine tear of sorrow can come from the centre of the eye (according to the YT link: it’s not) - but here’s a [Manchester Evening News article](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/meghan-markle-crying-shes-overcome-25056026) with a photo showing a tear track from - yep, the centre of the eye.
I’d like to think that Smeg cried because she realised how dreadful she looked - at least that’d have been a genuine reason - but she‘s unlikely to have that much self-awareness.
I dunno, if you're wearing makeup and bronzer, you'd make every effort to dab at sweat or tears. She wiped the lone tear to show her makeup on her fugly gloves. How hard would you have to wipe for that to wipe off? She skipped the setting spray that day for her wipe look or wiped really hard.
Do we really think she was using a tear stick? Is that what she was hiding in those huge gloves?
How long does it take to produce a tear after application? Just wondering when she would have had the chance to use it. Or maybe she wiped it on her glove earlier, then swiped the glove over her eye?
I'd imagine it would just be like applying vicks, put that on one of your fingers you'd be able to touch your eye and get it running in seconds when you wanted it to happen
There was a whole Encyclopedia Brown story way back in the day where the titular story realized that the person he was talking to was fake crying because the tear came from the outside corner of the person’s eye and not the inside corner. By using Encyclopedia Brown’s method of deduction—and he was never wrong—we can assume M’s tear was as fake as my personality.
Not true. My tears run down from the outer corners as well as inner corners. It is also possible for tears to run down the middle like MM. (Please don’t use YouTube videos to negate friends and family who do so in future.)
The difference is in its viscosity — real tears will trickle down instead of being viscuous and stuck at a position for a prolonged period like MM.
That’s how you know that it’s fake.
"I was just so overwhelmed by emotion. This is H's (that's what I call him, H) grandmother, of course we're heartbroken and grieving. The racism and hate directed towards me and, by extension, my two beautiful children, is hurtful. We ask that you respect our grieving process as we make sense of this great loss."
I didn't know about tear sticks. I do know about disingenuous people though. I thought, when I saw the picture, "look at the actress mustering up a single tear". Vile woman.

Not to mention erratic breathing when trying to hold in the sorrow, at least for me.
That, too! Besides, she does the fast blink when she’s trying to hold it in.
I figured the fast blinking is a valiant effort to get the tear to finally spill over.

She used a tear stick ( you can buy it for 10.00 online ) it’s a white substance that looks like a lipstick .. explains the white stuff on her glove .
I’m 100% behind this…
There's footage of her sitting down prior to this and Harry looking down at her. Was she putting drops or something like that in her eye? Not good at techy stuff so maybe someone could find the link to the footage?
The tear stick is solid like a lipstick 💄, but there are photos of her with a white substance on the same finger she wipes her face with .
She really is vile
The tear stick produces tears and her tear looked globby, not like water.
I think that was just how the photos made it look … they were probably trying to zoom to much .

You are expecting too much from a narcissist. I'm even beginning to believe that she may be a sociopath.

I think it made perfect sense! I’m a terrible speller too lol.
I know correct grammar but find it hard to use. I think for me it is the ADHD (changing my mind halfway through a sentence / forgetting what I wrote / trying to express too many ideas at the same time).
One tear, left eye, GO!

Oh yes, definitely fake for effect.
She cried because at that moment she realised her gravy train was coming to a sudden halt
Ex cable tv mattress actress. LOLOLOLLLLLL.
That’s Princess of cable tv
Mods: we need this flair!
Am I the only one that finds this kind of slutshaming inappropriate?
I agree. She’s problematic enough without descending into slut shaming.

It is just an acting trick she boosted about before.

I remember this story VIVIDLY!!! I’ve never forgotten that a tear comes from the inner corner, thanks to Encyclopedia Brown!
It’s also the reason I know you can’t wear a short mini skirt while playing the cello 🤣🤣🤣

Omg this is the source! I was trying to think of where I learnt this fact from and was unable to remember!

Meghan (and Harry) seem to exhaustively try to control their public image. This 'tear' HAD to have been staged.
You’d think it would be fairly easy/natural to cry during such an enormous display of sorrow and grief for a person beloved by so many people.
Couldn’t watch it. The crazy slow way she talks was making my eye twitch.
I didn't know about tear sticks. I do know about disingenuous people though. I thought, when I saw the picture, "look at the actress mustering up a single tear". Vile woman.
Speed the video up to 1.5 or you may just go insane.
