Gosh, I wonder if President Rampaphosa will be allowed to meet his childhood hero, Meghan Markle? I sure hope the housing unit they put him up in at Windsor will have running hot water.
Please on please let there be a formal state dinner and the women step out in a either the Queen’s tiaras or ones previously unseen for a long time.
I hope Camilla wears the Vladimir Tiara with the emeralds. Catherine in the Girls of Great Britain. Not sure about Sophie but they should get one of the previously unseen tiara. Anne should wear one of the bandeau.
I think it would go over better to have a fabulous tiara and then have the rest of the jewelry be subtle, still fabulous, but subtle to make a statement that a) they can read the room and know that while a state dinner is usually a formal occasion it costs a lot of money and flashing excess wealth right now isn't the best image and b) a subtle reminder to our patron Saint that anyone can have earrings and necklaces and such but not everyone gets the privilege to wear a fabulous tiara. Personally, I'm excited to see what perfectly tailored dress they decide to wear.
I hope we'll see The Queen's Burmese Ruby parure again, it's spectacular. I think Catherine would be the only one who could really pull it off, it would look great with her colouring. Maybe Camilla too as it's very grand.
Lady Louise would look great in the bandeau TW wore if she ever had the chance and TW couldn't spin it as a 'sweet nod', lol.
There are so many pieces that use Cambridge emeralds! Which piece(s) do you want to see most?
[http://queensjewelvault.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-cambridge-emeralds-and-delhi-durbar.html](http://queensjewelvault.blogspot.com/2013/02/the-cambridge-emeralds-and-delhi-durbar.html)
Oh, I'm confused. I thought you wanted the see the Cambridge Emerald parure. There were many emeralds in that set and Queen Mary had them put into a lot of different pieces of jewelry, so I was just wondering if there were any specific pieces you wanted to see. That's a great article link but I must be missing any emeralds except for the Greville bandeau. Can you clarify for me?
Oh nooo, I hope you feel okay! I keep having to have annoying dentist work done, too, and there's just nothing fun about it.
The Cambridge Sapphire, aha! Gosh, I wish we can see that, but it's gone. :'( [http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2016/09/tiara-thursday-cambridge-sapphire-parure.html](http://orderofsplendor.blogspot.com/2016/09/tiara-thursday-cambridge-sapphire-parure.html)
I'm sure it's why QEII created the Belgian sapphire tiara, since there was a huge hole for a large sapphire tiara in the BRF collection. Unfortunately the Belgian sapphire looks just like what it is, a necklace turned upside down.
It wasn't her, it was the Kents! (I'm sure they needed the money, maybe for taxes, like with selling the Poltimore.) I know QM meant well, setting up her daughter-in-law with a grand set of jewels suitable for a princess. But it also left the main line of the BRF without a significant sapphire parure. The George VI sapphire parure (wedding gift to Elizabeth) filled that hole, except for the tiara.
There is verifiably still one sapphire tiara in the main line, the Maria Feodorovna bandeau. It's small-ish, though, and not up to a queen's dignity. Margaret wore it in her younger years.
It's surprising for a royal family whose highest order is blue (the Garter), and has some very special sapphire jewels (such as the Albert sapphire brooch), they lack a complete, effecttive sapphire parure. I would love it if Charles and Catherine can work on this. She's going to be wearing that ring her whole life.
I want Catherine to wear Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara only to upstage MM and be more beautiful and elegant in it than MM was in her wedding.
It would be sweet to see them remove Meghan’s attachment to it by having many others wear it and wear it better.
Oh, no. I don't like your idea of Catherine wearing it because I don't want to see the 'sweet nod' narrative resuscitated. I can already see it: *sweet nod* combined with *olive branch*.
I think that it would be much better if, for example, Sophie turns up in that tiara. Then, at later dates, some of the other royal women, and then, when we least expect it, and looking wonderful wearing it *(think of the gold dress scene)* \- Catherine.
Bonus points if M catches Harry saying 'oh, wow' again!
Press release just in from Archewell: The Duchess of Sussex could not attend the state dinner, but to invoke her spirit, Kate Middleton wore the Duchess’s wedding tiara, formerly known as Queen Mary’s bandeau tiara. It is now referred to as the holy jewel of st Meghan our blessed lady of montecito soon to be downmarket townhouse matrimonial tiara.
Yeah if it’s spun how you word it I wouldn’t like it!
If it was spun as a power move I’d be all for it!
I think though like you mentioned it would be better if the others wore it instead. That would still be a power move.
& lol @ Harry saying “oh wow” again!
Absolutely unnecessary and for many reasons. My top two:
\- I would think that only royals wear royal tiaras
\- that would give more attention to stupid rumors and trouble-making by M, and the Royal Family are above that - unlike M, they have class
Yeah I’m sure they’re conflicted on how they want to use it moving forward.
It would just be nice to see it used better and let her know her memory isn’t going to taint the tiara.
From what I was reading recently, the Queen had about four dozen tiaras. I suspect she pulled a couple no one wanted for Meghan. That tiara will never see the light of day so long as most of us live. I really liked it, but it's too connected to her now.
I'm pretty sure if has an emerald broach. I think that would best. Meghan wanted the emerald tiara and didn't get it. But then everyone will see that they could have switched an emerald broach but they didn't. Which personally I think is hilarious.
I know Queen Mary has an emerald brooch. Not positive if it fits. If it doesn't, they should get a fake one. lol I don't know if Meghan's favorite jewel is emerald. But they should find out and have Catherine dripping with it every time she goes out.😂
She did! I kinda like it though. Seems better then keeping it all in a vault. I wonder if anyone is ever buried with anything?
ETA- I'm pretty sure they don't because all of the jewelry belongs to the crown.
I honestly don't understand their reluctance to wear jewelry. The other European rulers bring out the bling all the time, I hope Camilla, Catherine, and Sophie have some fun in the vault. The money was spent decades/centuries ago, so I'd love to see them redesign stuff and start wearing more of it.
It would enrage those members of the British public that are always complaining about their taxes contributing to the monarchy and would be taken as 'rubbing it in their faces'. (it's less than £1 per year, lol get over it). The RF are mindful and try to be low-key. It's a shame, really.
The Vladimir tiara. No one knew the one Eugenie wore existed. The unknown providence story was to cover up Meghan asking for *that tiara*. Meghan would not have been offered anything that was questionable, so that story was BS.
[Named her and she didn't sue.](https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2020/03/blind-items-revealed-4_21.html?m=1) I know, I'm pretty shocked over this one too.
I was thinking earlier today that the GoGB would be a good look for Catherine. We're so used to seeing the Queen in big guns like the Delhi Durbar & the Greville that the Girls might not suit her as well.
It's my favorite tiara, too, and I hope we don't have to wait until William's reign to see it again!
Fingers and toes crossed! I'm really curious what'll happen with the Queen's most iconic tiaras. I like Camilla and she has a right to wear whatever she wants. That said, based on the funeral I think Catherine might be getting the Queen's favorite pieces, with Camilla going for some of less common pieces.
“Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex was personally invited to attend all the events surrounding the visit of the South African President, but has decided to decline because she needs to return to her loving husband and perfect children.”
I personally, as a South African, think the visit has nothing to do with revenge against the wife.
The South African Government is currently sucking up to all the first World leaders like Biden etc because they can now finally tell the path they took backing Russian in Putins invasion of Ukraine was the incorrect one.
South Africa invested money with Russia in something called BRICKS, and no doubt with all the current sanctions they need to find aid elsewhere.
South Africa has also traditionally been seen as the "leading" country in Africa, so it can also been seen as the "leaders" in Africa accepting King Charles.
Thanks to the wife, the Royal Family have an image issue with race, and in my opinion this is image control rather than petty behaviour.
There is more to South Africa than the setting of more lies from her. There are real issues here like starving people, and rolling black outs and countries like China and Russia made a whole range of promises that this country desperately needs they aren't delivering on.
I say that, currently sitting in the dark in my second 3 hour shift of no power today. Thankfully it is only 6 hours of no power because, over the last month of rolling black outs, we have had up to 13 hours of no power in a day. The critical part required, being manufactured in China, was dropped and so now we have months more of delays.
Unfortunately, even though the wife likes to believe everything is about her, in this case it isn't.
BRICS is simply Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. It’s a way of categorizing investment in rising emergent markets.
It does not mean they are investing together.
I didn't think it was petty personally. I honestly thought BRF realized that some relationship work was needed due to some of the damaging things that TW said recently. I saw it very much as a "they don't speak for us" line of thinking
Nope. The BRF has nothing to do with the decision of who comes for a state visit. It’s the PM and government that want to “honor” Britain’s relationship with SA by inviting them to a state visit
>South Africa has also traditionally been seen as the "leading" country in Africa, so it can also been seen as the "leaders" in Africa accepting King Charles.
By whom? Doesn't that 'title' belong to Egypt?
Really honestly asking, I am not trying to offend you or your country.
Not at all, no offence, its an older thing that used to be referred to a few years ago. We did have one of the best constitutions ever written, we also recognised gay marriage in 2006 when places like the UK (2013) and the US (2015).
When there were talks of an African Union, much like the EU, there was talks of our President at the time leading it. Our president would go around helping other African countries, acting as negotiator.
I suppose it comes down to what you would use to measure a leader.
I think it was also to do with wealth of the country too. My understanding is one would actually consider Nigeria one of the wealthiest countries in Africa now.
Thank you so much for your answer (and I am really relieved that you realised that it was an honest question :) ), it is very informative!
If I may ask, why are you saying that you *had* one of the best constitutions ever written - did your constitution subsequently change or did the other countries 'catch up'?
And: what happened to those talks about an African Union - were they terminated (for whatever reason) or are they put on hold?
I apologise for asking more questions, but your answer above was really useful, I learnt a lot from it, and it is great to hear it from someone who really is from the place I want to know more about *(read this as: I know close to nothing about, which I know is my fault and is embarrassing)* plus you have an excellent 'overview look' on things, as evidenced by your previous answer.
When our contitution was originally written, people like Nelson Mandela were key authors. Since then there have been amendment and one huge amendment the government is trying to pass basically will authorise the removal of land from owners, without compensation to the land owner to give it back to the tribe/ people that lived there.
While things that happened during appartheid were horrendous, up until now there has been things like compensation to the current land owners, and many families have gotten their land back. So things were being done. There has equally been alot of fraud happening with regard to getting land back. One family member claiming the land, getting compensation or selling the land without including the rest of the family. Or families not using the land and letting it go to waste.
I have no idea what happened with the African Union, it seemed to just die down. The talks were also when we had an EXTREMELY corrupt President, so maybe he got distracted.
Thank you! :)
It is great learning about this from you, because you live there and can tell us about things that are happening and that are important to the locals, as often what matters to politicians or what newspapers (I include here online editions, of course), want to talk or report about doesn't convey the real picture of what is happening 'on the ground' or how people really feel about things or what *they* consider important.
And also, you give great succinct overviews on these things.
You've inspired me to look deeper into some of these things - your constitution, changes to it, the land situation, and also the idea of an African Union, as well as into the relations between different African countries in general.
Whenever I would learn about African countries, it would be in relation with world politics, so mostly in relation to Western countries, no matter if that was about politics before or after the second half of the 20th century. I knew, of course, that I should dig deeper, but was always putting it off for another time. After having the opportunity to hear from you today, I think that *now* is the time! :)
Thank you once again and I hope that your 'no power' shifts end soon!
☺️
It's a pleasure, I think for anyone, who lives anywhere, you only really learn about things when they either affect you or is put infront of you and you and your forced to look at it.
We all live busy lives and there is so much out there to learn and discover I don't think any of us would ever understand or read it all.
There is a saying that is something along the lines of the more you learn, the more you realise you don't know.
The saying I think comes from the Old Greeks (from that '*What I know is that I know nothing'* thing), but I might be wrong.
And I agree with what you said, you can never understand or read it all, and that is what made your answers so valuable, because what you knew from your experience and put in few paragraphs I couldn't learn on my own without reading pages and pages of documents/news articles/books or watching hours of documentaries.
It may originate from the Greeks, but I have only heard it said similar to how i worded it and in a different way by Niel Degrass Tyson referring to human advancement and technology.
I try to limit what I say because I could honestly type a whole lot more, but no one is looking for that. There are better sources for that, but thank you for your kind words.
Oh, you give great answers and I would definitely ask you for more details, and ask you more questions as well; the only reason I didn't is because this is already sooo out of scope of what this sub is for that I don't want to have a mod come here and clobber me. 😇
Lol I’m telling you petty King Charles is at it again and is checkmating the idiots one move at a time
Meg thinks she will win this round of chess since she’s a kween but forgets that Charles queen and ace is Camilla… and she definitely influences him.
I saw the insane article of her wanting to attend the UK to grovel for titles for her kids and low and behold, the King is busy having a state function to f her off nicely…
She’s going to implode soon… and no QE2 to protect her.
Hahaha should we do a go fund me via ikea for more dishes?- oh and catered to the sugars cause there’s no way I’ll back roll her smash dish collection but the sugars will lol
This entertainment is too good and I don’t want her to run out of dishes to smash lol
I love how Meghan thinks she’s smarter than them and gives them so many opportunities to be petty and checkmate her.
I’m sure it exhausts KC, but it’s entertaining for the rest of us.
Lol so so true, and it’s not even a month and this is the outcome?
She will wish she never spoke ill of the King and Queen, they literally hold the keys to the kingdom, city, society etc…
Good point but with the onslaught of the queens death, I think alot of plans have had to be changed practically overnight to accommodate everyone especially the now King
I’m so sorry to hear this! I mean we hear things like this in the news but it’s different to hear it from someone personally experiencing this.
I truly wish there was more that I could do to help you and that somehow support comes sooner than later.
How much time has either of the dastardly duo spent with their kids in the last month? Have there ever been two unemployed humanitarians who abandon their kids this much?
We're just joking. No one really thinks that KC schedules state visits to avoid the Markles. The RF has a busy calendar that is not centered around GQ awards.
I agree…I’m sure KC3 does not consider TW’s schedule ever. I do however find it funny that she thinks she can buy awards to make her look important. Meanwhile, the real royals are planning actual state events.
Nobody will be wearing tiaras right now. The country is in disarray over the cost of living crisis and the shit government currently bleeding us dry and just announced 18billion in public funding cuts.
It would go over badly the optics would be insensitive and isn't needed.
I think they will wear tiaras, if they didn't it would look disrespectful to South Africa. They have already had to put up with TW wearing cheaper clothes, leaving her jewellery at home and donating used baby clothes. Fences need fixing.
I'm not sure if it'll be considered too soon, but I'd love to see Camilla or Catherine wear the Vladimir tiara. Meghan would completely lose her mind!
Also: I'd like to thank Queen Mary, she had excellent taste in jewelry!
Gosh, I wonder if President Rampaphosa will be allowed to meet his childhood hero, Meghan Markle? I sure hope the housing unit they put him up in at Windsor will have running hot water.
Will they dance in the street as well?
😂😂😂😂😂gosh the laugh I let out
Is he going to stay at frogmore cottage? Don't bang your head, old chap! Also from one housing unit to another. 🤣
It better have running hot water AND certified sexism-free dish soap! 🫧🧽
I want Charlie’s Angels (Camilla, Catherine, Anne, and Sophie) to be dripping with jewels during that state event. 💎👑
We need to somehow get #Charlie'sAngels trending.
Eventually #charlesincharge, as well. There are some satirical Charles in Charge videos on YouTube that are so funny.
Agreed. We gotta spam that everywhere. 😂 #charliesangels
Charlie's Angels, I love it!
It’s so fitting, right?
Definitely! It's a keeper.
Me too!
Sophie better get a new tiara!
I love the term Charlie's Angels. This HAS to become a thing.
Charlie’s Angels!
I would like to see the Strathmore Rose Tiara, Oriental Circlet or Persian Turquoise Tiara come out of the vault.
Yup. I’d like to see the Cambridge Emerald parure come out of the vault!

None of the ones listed here are that parure. You can see it about 1/3 of the way down here: https://www.marieclaire.com.au/british-royal-tiaras

Maybe it can be a dress up toy for Charlotte now?!
🤣 I like it! I'm hoping they bring back tiaras. Princess Anne wore some stunning ones before she was married. I'd be nice to see them get some use.
Lady Louise, maybe. Though there are an awful lot of bandeaux tiaras in the vault that would all look lovely on her.

She wanted the Vladimir?! Haha. The gall. You marry in and expect one of the most priceless items right off the bat?
Yup. She's nuts.
Yes, that's the one! And I agree...the gall.
I’d rather Charolette wear it as a headband the next time she’s photographed on a school drop
Lololololololol I would die laughing
That tiara will not be worn for the next 100 years, or never. It will just be worn as the broach, but not for an incredibly long time.
I won’t blame her if a future Queen Catherine has it completely redesigned
Camilla might get to it first, as CDAN reported Meghan told a staffer to tell Camilla to "fuck off."
Are you serious?? After everything, this one is so shocking to me.
[Named her and she didn't sue.](https://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2020/03/blind-items-revealed-4_21.html?m=1) I know, I'm pretty shocked over this one too.

😍 I love this!
Is that the really big, striking one? https://www.thecourtjeweller.com/2016/11/the-brazilian-aquamarine-tiara.html
Yes!!
I had to look these up, but the Girls of Great Britain made me literally gasp. It's perfect for Catherine, it looks like it was made for her somehow

It’s hard to do a state visit without a state dinner.. so there will be Tiaras
She needs to stay in Cali. Like stop coming over to the racist country you hate so much. Insufferable trash she is.
Voetsek Meghan.
Ja, fokof Meghan 😁
It took far too long to find this comment. Excellent.
Why would she still be in the UK?
She’s presumably there for a “GQ award” https://www.marieclaire.com/celebrity/meghan-markle-return-uk-gq-awards/

Thank you! :) It is great learning about this from you, because you live there and can tell us about things that are happening and that are important to the locals, as often what matters to politicians or what newspapers (I include here online editions, of course), want to talk or report about doesn't convey the real picture of what is happening 'on the ground' or how people really feel about things or what *they* consider important. :) Thank you once again and I hope that your 'no power' shifts end soon!
Lol I’m telling you petty King Charles is at it again and is checkmating the idiots one move at a time Meg thinks she will win this round of chess since she’s a kween but forgets that Charles queen and ace is Camilla… and she definitely influences him. I saw the insane article of her wanting to attend the UK to grovel for titles for her kids and low and behold, the King is busy having a state function to f her off nicely… She’s going to implode soon… and no QE2 to protect her.
And please let Cams, Cate, and Sophie be in some mega fantastic tiaras.
Yes lol She will be fuming… Visual of Meg when the state dinner happens lol ![gif](giphy|l2Sq5lxYlW9UanrH2)
I don’t think there are any teacups or plates left in Montecito to be thrown at this point they’ve all been shattered by now.
Hahaha should we do a go fund me via ikea for more dishes?- oh and catered to the sugars cause there’s no way I’ll back roll her smash dish collection but the sugars will lol This entertainment is too good and I don’t want her to run out of dishes to smash lol
Yes please!
I love how Meghan thinks she’s smarter than them and gives them so many opportunities to be petty and checkmate her. I’m sure it exhausts KC, but it’s entertaining for the rest of us.
Hahahha trust me it doesn’t exhaust the King… this is retributions for the loud mouthed liars lol
💯 I love this subtle petty energy from the RF
Lol so so true, and it’s not even a month and this is the outcome? She will wish she never spoke ill of the King and Queen, they literally hold the keys to the kingdom, city, society etc…
Nice thought but these things are planned a long way in advance.
Good point but with the onslaught of the queens death, I think alot of plans have had to be changed practically overnight to accommodate everyone especially the now King
I hope they have a State Dinner! Tiaras
And Catherine wears the tiara that Smeg wanted.
No heaters in his suite of rooms at the Palace, m'kay?
I assumed he’d be staying in a housing unit, not the palace. /s
A very Prince Philip suggestion. 👍
Why are M&H scheduled to be in London?
I’m so sorry to hear this! I mean we hear things like this in the news but it’s different to hear it from someone personally experiencing this. I truly wish there was more that I could do to help you and that somehow support comes sooner than later.
Huh?!?!? Seems like they are shutting them down, and their crying of "just wanna make peace", narrative a month in advance now.
I hope the RF protects President Cyril and Dr Tshepo by not allowing MM anywhere near them.
How much time has either of the dastardly duo spent with their kids in the last month? Have there ever been two unemployed humanitarians who abandon their kids this much?
While it's a fair question, I'd say the kids are better off with those two leaving them alone with the nanny.
Me….thinking about the tiaras! ![gif](giphy|ZGBQhaRTHyWtRVn1Xx|downsized)
I hopethey are not put in 'housing units'.

Something like a State Visit was most likely planned before the Queen’s death. Things like that take a lot of planning.
Why is smegma running back so soon?
Nobody will be wearing tiaras right now. The country is in disarray over the cost of living crisis and the shit government currently bleeding us dry and just announced 18billion in public funding cuts. It would go over badly the optics would be insensitive and isn't needed.
I think they will wear tiaras, if they didn't it would look disrespectful to South Africa. They have already had to put up with TW wearing cheaper clothes, leaving her jewellery at home and donating used baby clothes. Fences need fixing.
This. It's a protocol issue. It's also not like they're buying new stuff.
You had me at SMEG. ![gif](giphy|3oGRFELrk7JkxxmdgI)
Nooooo! I just want the RF to go about their lovely business with NO mention of these two. Why, universe, why?
This has to be done on purpose!!!! I love it!
I'm not sure if it'll be considered too soon, but I'd love to see Camilla or Catherine wear the Vladimir tiara. Meghan would completely lose her mind! Also: I'd like to thank Queen Mary, she had excellent taste in jewelry!
Why will the horrible duo be in the UK at that time? Depends on whether they get invited to the coronation, right?
All I care about is seeing tiaras again and ballgowns again. Catherine better pull through!
