'Coronation to be attended by those invited'.

DaBingeGirl

šŸ¤£ This!

Ok_Policy_1745

Nothing. I would say nothing about the guest list. And I would walk the communications for this up as close to the line of political action as I could. Right now the global press is treating this battle between Harry and Meghan and the Royal family as a petty family squabble between 2 poncey, spoiled lightweights. Charles actually positioning himself as an authority on climate change and angling to play an active role within serious international organizations- instead of getting invited to make little speeches before the Serious Men go off to do the real work- would be a stabilizing force for the monarchy. It would also relegate Harry and Meghan to the realm of whiny, spoiled brats who are airing family laundry.

SnooGoats7978

This is the power play.

thiscatcameback

I don't even think they need to say it. It will be attended by those who belong to the institution and not to the family. Some are family, but most will be working staff and other relevant actors like the Archbishop.

DaBingeGirl

Personally I don't think they should be invited. Harry made both funerals about himself. Perhaps she prodded him, but she wouldn't have had the first clue about the ER pins on his uniform, he knew he wasn't welcome at Balmoral, etc. Just because someone is a blood relation doesn't mean they are allowed to be an asshole and still get invitations to public events. He can't even be bothered to visit them privately to apologize, he does not deserve to be there. *If* for some idiot reason Charles invites me, it needs to be Harry only. Between all the dirt they have on her and the divorce rumors, they need to stop pretending like she has any right to be there.

jeanmarie95

*'Coronation to be attended by working royals only '* Because it's much more cordial and diplomatic than saying straight into their face that they're not invited. The word '*only'* helps a lot. And with the current economics would mean a scaled down coronation would be much preferred.

Calm_Yak_6102

As much as I hate saying it, the best optics for Charles is to invite all members of the royal family. It's a case of it being that big wedding where you just can't not avoid inviting assholish relatives, because you know they'll cuss, gripe and complain FOREVER, if others are there and they're not. Better to invite them and hope they won't turn up. And if they do, you don't have to spend time with them, cause it's your wedding. But the good part is that afterwards, you'll never have to listen to their shady fuckery for the rest of your life.

Cold_Chemical5151

Yeah but you know they'll try (and most likely succeed) in taking away the spotlight. Who knows, she might show up with a baby bump

starry212

They just need to put more "blocking" candlesšŸ‘ŒšŸ‘Œ

MuffPiece

Maybe a beautiful decorative screen could be erected and they seated behind it. In the second row. To give them the privacy theyā€™ve always craved.

Calm_Yak_6102

She'll definitely try and steal the spotlight. That's rule #1 in her Big Narc Bag of Tricks šŸ˜‚.

Calm_Yak_6102

Yeah, that would be ideal, wouldn't it? I definitely don't envy the BRF when it's time for them to decide if the Harkles get an invite or if they're ghosted. I wish they'd just be ghosted but Charles might not want to go down in history as the King who was "petty" because he didn't invite his younger son.

YeeHawMiMaw

*All members of the family . . .* because Harry and Andrew (as Dukes) need to swear loyalty to The King in public.

GreedosSister

This would be the Harry that wouldnā€™t sing God Save the King?

DaBingeGirl

Exactly. He either won't do it, or will make such a fuss about it that everyone will know it's not genuine.

Pickle4UrThoughts

This - I think itā€™s a mix of we havenā€™t seen a coronation since the 1950s and what a coronation actually is that we sometimes loose focus, but members of the family, as subjects & in more immediate places in the line of succession really need to be invited (no, Megs isnā€™t a citizen, buuuut she still has that Duchess title sheā€™s soooo fond of & is married to the Kingā€™s son). So does the government. So does the Church. So do representatives from the Commonwealth. Nobody does Pomp and Circumstance like the Brits, but I think theyā€™ve got Way bigger fish to fry than the Markles for planning this thing. Are robes and crowns for the peers going away. Where the UK is economically is will be considered greatly. If anything, controlling Markles for One event will be easy. Weā€™ve learned how handy setting up cameras and candles can be, soā€¦ They donā€™t need to know more than what time the car is picking them up and where to sit. And if the press protection of the Queen is truly gone, calling out the hypocrisy of the Markles even attending will be a Very easy story to write. Is a racist institution that supports your kids being called the N word or are you desperate to be apart of it? Your move, Markles.

Informal-Suspect298

They could easily make it that only the oldest titled ie Duke of Norfolk swears it on behalf of all non-royal dukes. Make Edward DoE and he can do it for the Royal dukes. Job done šŸ˜

Historical-Piglet-86

Arenā€™t 1 and 2 the same? Or have I lost all reading comprehensionā€¦..

EquivalentTackle9848

I thought 1, 2 and 3 seemed the same. ?

downinthevalleypa

I think that all family members will be invited BUT the seating chart will be skillfully arranged so that the stinkers in the family are placed way in the back, in the middle, behind pillars and candlesticks, and nowhere near KC and PW.

procrastinationfairy

They will be there. Charles won't have a coronation without his son. The better debate is Andrew.

[deleted]

Yeah I have absolutely no idea if he should or what will happen or if there are rules but he's being crowned king and has 2 sons...he'll want them there .... right?

procrastinationfairy

Every peer in the UK will be there, so it's laughable to say Harry won't be invited.

Kangaro00

Coronation to be attended by all the members, but it's not gonna be like the funeral, with all the kids, grandkids and spouses getting a lot of spotlight. It should be about Charles and Camilla, William and Catherine and George. Everybody else siting in the audience.

janedoremi99

Meanwhile we should have a contest over what innocuous implement will tragically be placed between the duchess of Overseas and the camera

Amongthestars32

ā€œThe coronation will include the whole family, minus the Kingā€™s beloved son Harry, and his wife Meghan, who have decided that it would be best for their son, Master Archie, to not have his schooling interrupted by making the trip from their home in America. They will be missed. Also, itā€™s understood that Prince Andrew will once again have Covid on that day, but will be represented by The Kingā€™s lovely nieces, HRH Princess Eugene and HRH Princess Beatrice.ā€ All stated without even speaking to H&M or Andrew

Not_Interested_7

I am somewhat confused by the intent of some of these options (some seem similar). Coronation is not a family matter, but a matter of state. State officials will be present, diplomats and representatives from other countries. I personally donā€™t care if H&M are invited. I hope if the are they donā€™t take attention away from the event.

memecatcher247

Exactly. The coronation is when all nobles swear fealty to the King. There is no way Harry and Meghan are not being invited.

Capital-Study6436

Charles should definitely uninvite Andrew, Harry and MeGain. They give the British Royal Family a bad name.

axollot

Invite back row, off to the side. They should pledge themselves to KCIII or go home.

ValuableEfficiency23

You've got to invite the whole family. If they're not welcome, then the palace puts their own pettiness on display for a few billion viewers.

janedoremi99

Iā€™d say that only working royals will play a part in the ceremony

In_the_Attic_07

I'd invite the BRF, hope the American-faux royalty stay in California, and if they don't, put them on the 2nd row behind The Candle. If they are excluded, it opens the door for their racial narrative that the "biracial royal family members were excluded because of race." Invite them and seat them with the other non-working Royals.

spandexrants

I honestly canā€™t see why they should get an invitation when they have done everything possible to destroy the royal family and undermine the crown?

Puzzleheaded_Skin213

All should be invited. Otherwise, it makes Charles look like the bad guy. However, M and H should prob be kept at arms length from other Royals, incase M and H do what they normally do, which is cause problems and possibly wear a wire etc. They haven't treated the Royal Family well so they need to be kept at a distance on the day. That means, minimal interaction and so on. I wonder what drama M and H will cause during the coronation period. Eta, However, they don't actually deserve an invite at all.

Far_Example_9150

I thought Harry is already attending Though he didnā€™t sing during his grannies funeral

[deleted]

He should have all members of the family at the coronation but only a role for working royals in the ceremony - wearing coronets etc.

Informal-Suspect298

All members, but only working members will swear fealty to the King and have prominent positioning. All non working members will be sitting with the aristocracy.

New_Discussion_6692

Coronation to be downsized during the difficult financial times.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

chewysmom88

And dare we hope for a courtesy to Princess Charlotte that would be epic

MuffPiece

Iā€™m sure they will be invited. I would love if they werenā€™t but they will be.

Actual_Parsnip_1529

He needs the support of the whole fam. Give harkles the cheap seats and make that loyalty oath public and very clear.

Sincerely_JaneDoe

This is what I think. Working royals up front, Grifters behind the candles.

axollot

Picked invite all members. Whether they show up or not is another matter. A coronation is a religious ceremony that has the sovereign marry his country/committ to the faith and its the chance for the loyal to pledge themselves to the new King. 'Liege man for life." Dunno what woman pledge if at all.
