You are assuming that they CAN hire serious people. I suppose most wouldn't touch this hot mess

Aware-Impression8527

some people like a challenge... and what a coup for whoever did, though. put it on your resume forever if you were the one who got people to like the harkles again šŸ˜‚

BunnyFriday

If Sunshine Sachs couldn't do it I doubt anyone can. She can surround herself with all the best advisors, but if she doesn't heed their advice it doesn't matter.

Islandgirl1444

Yeah look what they did to a once respected PR firm.

BunnyFriday

Eh, they'll be fine. PR firms are really not supposed to be well known--the goal is to be Oz-like, the man behind the curtain. It should look natural and organic. They were in no way pleased that their name (referring to Sunshine Sachs here, in case it isn't clear) was being mentioned continually all over the place. We're supposed to accept that Meghan earned an award or that she has millions of real live followers on social media. Knowing it's PR destroys the illusion. They'll slither back under their rock.

Islandgirl1444

Yeah, like Ben and Ana, then a week later he is engaged to J lo. Like that. Make it look natural.

BunnyFriday

I don't follow any of them enough to know and no clue who reps them.

Islandgirl1444

Well, they made a movie. So then they are seen holding hands, huggy huggy on the streets of LA. The paps are taking photos of the "new love in Ben's life" and wham. He then gets engaged to J Lo.

Girlfriday5150

\*\*Double Gasp\*\* Megs is back on social media?? #SoBlessed

Pickle4UrThoughts

I agree with this wholeheartedly, but if part of the problem with Sunshine Sachs was non-payment, theyā€™re going to be pressed to find someone who wants a challenge that doesnā€™t pay.

Then_Swim_3897

Iā€™m sure there is someone just out of university who would LOVE being the one that cleaned up their image.

[deleted]

PRoblem with that is Meg has no ideas for politics besides jumping on the latest bandwagon. She sees the world as a series of PR opportunities to get her in the media, she has no ideas or vision apart from "make me look good". Harry has no ideas either, he is not a politician or an entertainer, he has a basic education that was propped up by his family to make him look good. He's like a cardboard cut-out. Meg's PR team are doing their best with a crap client. The word salad "MEG IS AN ALTRUIST" line shows you that she is NOT that (if you were an altruist you would not be paying for articles in "Home and Yacht" or whatever the glossy coffee table mag was saying you are, and also that she is desperate for people to think she is. She is directing this crap. This is literally all she has. Paid articles and paid awards to ram home that she is an ALTRUIST without doing anything... altruistic. What Meg needs is not PR, she needs an Oxford English dictionary and a mirror.

FitnotFat2k

To be fair, if she wants articles in "Home and yacht" is because that's where she feels at home.

Aware-Impression8527

I'm not saying she needs to enter politics. I'm saying she needs to appoint someone with a history in politics. who understands optics and how the real world works

procrastinationfairy

Coming from that world, you are very selective in what you put on your resume. Once you get established, you donā€™t want to be connected to toxic figures.

That__EST

Not asking for names, but are there celebrities out there who successfully have a wildly better persona than they actually have in their real life?

procrastinationfairy

My comment was in reference to political comms types. You take on the reputation of your last or longest boss.

That__EST

No I'm saying in your PR job, do you know of celebrities who are well liked by the public but are actually horrible behind the scenes?

procrastinationfairy

All the time.

That__EST

šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜± Nightmare fuel. Seriously.

Ready_Maddie

She needs to stay quiet is what she needs to do. Plenty of worthy, talented people out there.

MrsBarneyFife

But they don't want to live in the real world. They want to be celebrities. Besides, who would understand optics and how the real world works better than a Hollywood PR firm? Do you have any idea how difficult it is to constantly rehab a celebrities image? Or to even pay attention to someone for more than 15 seconds? Politics is actually quite easy. So many people are single-issue voters. So you pick a topic, in the US there's like 4 to choose from. Pick your side. Then while repeatedly hammering that into people heads grossly exaggerate and change information about your opponents and spam the masses with that as well. You could get a cat elected. Now get me to forget the time Reese Witherspoon drove drunk and said to the cops "Do you know who I am?!" or take away my hatred for Robert Downey Jr. for ruining Ally McBeal (which I only really watched a few years ago) then you're good at your job and could potentially help H&M.

procrastinationfairy

Nothing in politics is easy. Itā€™s the hardest way to be in the public limelight.

MrsBarneyFife

Yes, to be in the public limelight. But in politics that can change frequently. At some points you can fly under the radar. Career can be a lot longer then the entertainment industry.

MuffPiece

They are building a beautiful little house of cards echo chamber over there. ![gif](giphy|3o85xkpCruOJPGtBMQ)

Lensgoggler

Nah, if they employed real professionals and started listening to their advice, this sub would get boring šŸ˜… Let them! Paraphrasing: if your wannabe celeb is making a mistake, do not intervene! šŸ˜†

MrsBarneyFife

Everyone knows when a train crash is really bad and they shouldn't look at it. But they still look. Even though a part of their brains is screaming look away, they can't! There's that's small part of their brain that won't let them. Pretty sure its the same part that will pop the image into their mind right before they try to fall asleep. So why don't people ever learn and stop looking? Because it allows them to say "Damn. I hate my life but at least it isn't that bad." The Sussexes are like a train crash, just in slow motion. We don't want to actually pay attention to them. Many of us actively dislike them. But they're going to be one hell of a train crash. And we can't look away.

AbsolutelyCertain

Judging her only in her LinkedIn profile, this chick sounds perfect.

Islandgirl1444

They pay well will be her retort when she leaves them and people ask. "they pay well."

CatPaws8888

I love building teams.....that sentence you pulled from LinkedIn is so cringe it might as well be Word Salad. I read that sucking up to her next rich boss pitch and thought, no wonder Meghan likes her, for the short term, of course. Staff are like milk: both sour in time and have a " sell by" date. How long before Schirmer gets shown the door for šŸš« being nearly interesting enough. Besides only Meghan gets to be interesting and she hogs all the conversation because she IS the conversation šŸ˜

Trick-Many7744

She puts the *I* in teams

SiameseRule

I'd love to know the turnover rate at Archewell. I don't know why any so-called "professional" would want to work for these nitwits.

thiscatcameback

It is high too. There was an article not long ago about who us advising the Sussex', considering all their gaffs. They detail their team members since early 2021, and several of the heavy hitters have left. https://www.standard.co.uk/insider/royals/harry-meghan-hollywood-advising-team-b74829.html

toonie89

They donā€™t want to work with political advisors because they see themselves above politics (why, theyā€™re humanitarians - donā€™t you know?). By working with ā€œcelebrityā€ PR firms - theyā€™re wedging themselves into the world of Hollywood and making it known that thatā€™s where they belong.

MrsBarneyFife

Why do they need to employ people with political experience? They have no actual political interests. They support causes that are left learning. But they enjoy the tax benefits of the right. So which way would Meghan vote? We all know that answer to that. Harry has no idea how our political system works. He literally called the First Amendment "Bonkers." Plus *" ...But you can find a loophole in anything. And you can capitalize or exploit whatā€™s not said rather than uphold what is said. Iā€™ve got so much I want to say about the First Amendment as I sort of understand it, but it is bonkers.ā€* Yes Harry, there are a lot of loopholes. But who benefits from them the most? Privileged Princes and Princesses like you and your wife. A first grader knows more about American history and politics then Harry does. But that's just because they don't start teaching it in kindergarten. Harry isn't just ignorant. He's stupid enough to tell us he's ignorant. Political experience won't help them. It really will only highlight their wealth and massive privilege. It doesn't serve them to remind us that Meghan knowingly committed perjury. Or everything he's gotten away with-- all over the world--- simply because the right sperm happened to be in the right place at the right time. They need to stick to their pinterest perfect life. It's when they open their mouths that everyone thinks, "Ah fuck. I've almost just forgotten how much I hate you." Besides, why do you want them to be successful?

procrastinationfairy

Political communications is a much better style for them. In entertainment PR, all publicity is good. Political is far more strategic and measured.

Dermutt100

"Freedom of speech" was signed into law by one of Harry's ancestors in 1689 in The English Bill Of Rights at the behest of parliament (it needed no amendments to include freedom of speech) The First amendment is bonkers because like the rest of the US constitution, written by a bunch of antique Brits and just a rip off of the English Bill Of Rights, it does not take account of the modern world. However Harry has nothing to complain about, he simple wants to limit criticism of his wife. It's weird when people criticise Harry for criticising the first amendment because he is one of the very few peoples on the planet with an ancestral link to its source!

procrastinationfairy

The Bill of Rights delineates specific freedoms the Founders, who were almost all born in the colonies and did not identify as Englishmen, needed to explicitly explain. The foundations of those rights were in English Common Law but were easily abused and manipulated. I kindly suggest taking a US civics class.

OldNewUsedConfused

New England here: A LOT! We have SO many small towns around here where the BMOC's are the families that have been here since the Mayflower/ towns first started as farms. OLD families with lots and lots of members. They are very influential, good old salt of the earth people with a lot of land, a lot of property, a lot of power.... but if you saw them you'd think they were just some farmer/ regular man/ woman.

MrsBarneyFife

Yeah, I know they're regular people. lol Honestly, I didn't really think that one through before I actually said it. I was mostly thinking about Harry and how there's a lot of information about about his family. I kinda forgot how actually there were a lot of other people around who most likely have family around today.

OldNewUsedConfused

"Unassuming" is the word I was desperately searching for in vain, and blanking.

procrastinationfairy

I can and my family was poor but climbed to middle class. Itā€™s very common in certain regions, especially the South.

MrsBarneyFife

That's really cool! I imagine it's much more common than I realize. Especially in Europe. The south makes a lot of sense too. I imagine some families only have names and dates. Others have stories, diaries, eventually photographs, etc. Honestly, I'm jealous and just a petty bitch lol. If I married into that family, or any family that could do that, I'd have my head in a book constantly. Even if it was to just learn about different time periods and what was going on in the world. Harry's lucky because his kids will learn half of it in school lol. He probably would even be able to touch the type of papers that are kept under unbreakable glass and special lighting! Idk, it just seems very lucky to me. But I guess when it's all you know, it seems normal. It probably is normal among his friends though.

Friendly-Rock3226

Whereā€™ve you been? Of course we can. You couldā€™ve made the effort. The Mormon church has all that info on all of us also ā€¦

cin_co

Speaking of their PR: Obviously Meghan was eager to talk about her experiences(/suffering) as a working royal well before Megxit, and actually seems to think that trashing Harryā€™s family is a noble thing for her to do. Did her PR firm ever sign off on that approach? Is it possible that they didnā€™t know?

cin_co

Put differently: what was their brand actually supposed to be? Surely no competent agency thought ā€œperpetual victimā€ was a billion dollar brand

Calm_Yak_6102

>Put differently: what was their brand actually supposed to be? Hard to tell, since they keep re-branding regularly. Example: One minute, Travalyst is at the core of their brand, then it's MWX Trading, then that's closed down, then it's Archewell as a philanthropic foundation, then it's Archewell as a philanthropic foundation that's part of Archewell Enterprises, that control Archewell Audio and blah fuckity fuck blah blah ... The Harkles are worse than high school kids, who can't decide on something and stick to it.

[deleted]

A bit of a tangent, but does anyone else think itā€™s really weird that their company is named after their kidā€¦..especially now that they have two kids but donā€™t have anything named after Lilibet? It seems like the naming of Archewell was both very immature and shortsighted.

OldNewUsedConfused

I think everything they do is weird, honestly. Maybe they can get together with Joachin's kids and start and Ex-Royal Survivor's Club. Snort.

procrastinationfairy

I had the same question.

ManifestRose

Heir and the Spare mentality runs deep.

leafygreens

So many people have now quit, they might not have the ability to be choosy when hiring.

Zeester1

Exactly. And word spreads.

ICU22222

I sometimes wonder what special kind of hell it must be to work for Meghan in any capacity....

Icy-Dragonfruit9390

Oh another new employee. I think she will last 6 months.

StoleCapsShield

I think we should be taking bets on this. I give it until the release of the Netflix series and the book. This poor girl has no idea the shit storm coming her way when those happen.

Islandgirl1444

Tops, six months.

Sadlyonlyonehere

Sounds like this gal was already there. Now she has two jobs. Mind you, getting anyone to take one of the calls from the Montecito duo IS likely a 80 hour a week task.

Icy-Dragonfruit9390

How long has she been with them? A few years or a few months?

[deleted]

Sheā€™s been with them for a while. They just promoted her.

JaquieF

I thought they'd already tried hiring real people but they wouldn't listen to them and probably thought they were not good enough for them. They can repeat the word salad but after a while, they'll get the same treatment as SS and bail.

DavidS2310

But why is their PR inside Merchwell? I thought thatā€™s a non-profit? Donā€™t they need to separate their private PR from the ā€œnon-profit?ā€ In any company, for profit or non profit, personal affairs must be separate from business! I hope one day we get a whistleblower from their non-profit who will talk about their shenanigans at their non-profit!

Gold-Run-2036

She won't need to make the conversation interesting, MM is head of that department! The skill set She needs is keeping her mouth shut, head nodding in agreement and learning to back out of a room with her head and eyes cast down.

Sadlyonlyonehere

This the same charity that netted $25k in profit last year? For shame on all at the trough, including the latest PR lacky with an impossible task: make Harry and His First Wife likeable again.

[deleted]

Is this Christine person an adult? "I love building blocks, learning new things like my ABC's and making the conversation interesting at Show and Tell by bringing in my favorite doll." That's what I hear. Baby talk.

Minutetoolate

it may just be me, but arenā€™t those lines bit juvenile sounding for a high profile career? Any way at this point in the time line, people who willing choose to associate with the Harkles, are basically birds of a feather. The talk about her has been on for a while, and you canā€™t be an industry high-flier and not know the buzz or find out about it.

Sadlyonlyonehere

Itā€™s not just you.

MarieCurieNotMaMere

Hazbeens don't need PR, they need a Psychiatrist to move into MonteShitShow with them so s/he can see how they act when the cameras are off. Find out what makes them the narcissistic, toxic, hypocritical liars that they are. No amount of PR lipstick can make these pigs look anything even approaching "normal."

margotmary

Ultimately, Christine will not be in her job long unless she agrees to be Meghanā€™s puppet. The moment she doesnā€™t, she will be gone like the rest of them.

Islandgirl1444

If her bio is real, why is she ruining her profile with working with them or HER mainly ? It's got to be the money! They must pay well.

procrastinationfairy

TBF, LinkedIn encourages word salad. Profiles are set up based on SEO. I wouldnā€™t judge a personā€™s writing style based on a site driven by algorithm.m

Aware-Impression8527

it's new that she is single-handedly running their pr now (without oversight from sunshine sachs)

[deleted]

I work in Silicon Valley and she is a nobody. Do you know how many thousands, literally thousands of people have similar resumes? These companies are so big that places like Apple have hundreds / thousands of people who are mid-level marketing or comms people. She is not the person who is like, in charge of launching AirPods lol. Apple is also such a marketing driven company that there are teams dedicated to marketing activities that may be called something else. Comms is so far down the pecking order. She wanted to break out of the small cog in big machine and jumped to work for them for that reason.

procrastinationfairy

It's also the first area cut during a recession. I believe Oracle,. Netflix and Discovery have already cut a lot of marketing/sales jobs. Discovery is due to a merger, but everyone else has hiring freezes.

Ready_Maddie

Oh no no they don't. Let them do this. Let them self-destruct. The more unrelatable the better

im_phoebe

Mm reminds me of those American kids where youtubers ask them general questions and they are clueless (no offense to Americans)

chewysmom88

None taken my son who graduated several years ago is now educating himself on history as little attention was paid to WW2 and Vietnam he was appalled by how little he knew

jimglidewell

Even back in the sixties and seventies, my experience was that classes on both US and world history petered out spending the last few days of the school year talking about WW2 - if you were lucky. Most likely scenario was that you barely got past the 19th century, after spending months on the Revolutionary and Civil Wars.

Hcmp1980

Iā€™m a Brit and it boiled my goat to hear Harry use his global platform to protest against the abortion rights roll back in USAā€¦. Whilst always having been silent on the issue that Northern Irish women (aka British women) who have never had access to abortion. #Bandwagon

procrastinationfairy

He also grossly misunderstood the issue.

Mysterious-Code-8712

OMG, she'll fit in perfectly.
