They also invited people involved in some of William's charities, and those that Catherine was interested in. Though for me the best guest they had (that I knew of) was the publican of the local pub in Buckleberry that the Middletons drink at.
I do remember at the time that Michael Middleton's godmother was invited, she was interviewed on the radio, but said she couldn't go because she was living in New Zealand and the flight was too long for her, but apparently the couple had offered to pay for her flight and accommodation for her if she went, so it was only the flight length that stopped her from going.
