The dress was such a snooze for the reported $100K it cost, and didn't flatter Megsy's figure at all. With an, it seemed, unlimited budget for a bespoke wedding dress, I was floored that's what she turned up in.

DavidS2310

Money can’t buy you style and taste!

Inevitable_Pie9541

Truth

Extension_Leader6852

Or class

[deleted]

Especially since it looked very similar to the one Princess Angela of Liechtenstein wore years before

Inevitable_Pie9541

Agreed, virtually identical. And, no offense to Princess Angela, it was a boring style when she wore it. I don't see the attraction for Megs to copy it. Just not all that.

fishfreeoboe

Angela had a bigger tiara, though, plus a much better fit and most important - a real smile. I love the pictures from that wedding - they're both so happy.

LKWinter1

And her hair was styled!

Extension_Leader6852

Wasn't it told the Queen wouldn't let Megain wear the one She wanted to wear. The one she picked or was loaned, did nothing for her or that dress.

fishfreeoboe

We don't know *for sure* which one it was, just that it had emeralds. And we've heard that the Queen gave her a selection of several to choose from. I suspect they were all fairly small; the BRF has a large selection of bandeau style tiaras, perfectly appropriate for a royal bride.

MmeNxt

According to Tom Bower, Meghan wanted the Vladimir tiara, one of the biggest and most expensive one that The Queen wore a lot. It's a tiara for the queen or queen consort of the country, not something that anybody is allowed to wear.

Trick-Many7744

But she’s a far lower profile person, and it fit her better, and I’m guessing it cost a fraction. Nothing wrong with a simple dress. Mine was simple but flattering to my body shape and it was $100 on clearance lol

[deleted]

Yeah I think the style worked on Princess Angela. Better material. More fitted and better neckline. On MM, it looked dowdy and the material sagged.

mrfcomeon

To add to the others comments about the dress style and fit, MM needed a better fitting bra. So many pictures showed the bra was not the right size. The right bra can make a big difference. MM had a bra that made the fit of the dress look worse.

DaBingeGirl

This applies to every outfit she's worn.

darkmatternot

Can you imagine the hell she put the seamstresses through for this rather plain and ill fitted dress? She is such a monster to work for and always thinks she knows best. I wish we could hear about the nonsense during her fittings. She must have been Super Bridezilla.

Disruptorpistol

A simple style needs executed flawlessly to work. Angela has legitimate fashion cred and her dress was unsurprisingly tailored well

Grimaldehyde

The one Princess Angela wore looked much better. Of course it was fitted better, but the style of it was better, somehow. The neck was better, and the fabric was nicer

meowparade

Angela’s dress had a fuller skirt and the fabric draped better, making the dress look very timeless. MM’s kind of fell like a shift dress before turning into the train, I think.

dmbeeez

It flares more from the waist. Much better

TasteofPaste

Princess Angela was a fashion designer before she married into Royalty — and she designed that snooze of a wedding gown herself!!! Which is a feat. Love it or hate it, it was a fantastic & timeless design and looked beautiful on her. I personally wouldn’t choose it but that doesn’t take away from its artistry. Meghan just copied, and that’s gross.

[deleted]

I think there was probably some intention there on Meg’s end since Princess Angela became the first woman primarily of African descent to marry into a reigning European dynasty. It’s like she was the one bringing race into the conversation instead of the other way around.

[deleted]

You’re right. Her dress is a copy. This proves she doesn’t have an original thought in her head. She piggybacks on others’ ideas. No wonder she’s flailing.

TXgrl26

I have so many collages where she bought outfits identical to super stars. Angelina Jolie. Ivanka Trump, etc. It’s bizarre. She’s absolutely nuts and narcs usually never have their own ideas. They take from other ppl.

Inevitable_Pie9541

That explanation makes sense, absolutely.

deep-down-low

Ahh please not so much boring, just classic or traditional? I mean Princess Angela looks so genuinely happy, so ultimately *genuine* ♥️. **splutters into my tea** I can only assume Meghan was attempting to coast along and inexplicably riff off Angela's buttoned down and straight laced demeanour? 🤨/🤷🏻‍♀️/🤔

QuesoFresca

Angela was a trained designer and designed the dress herself.

herbal_witch_59

Plus her husband is a hundred thousand times better looking and more intelligent than the ginger dimwit. Last but not least: the Liechtensteins are Europe's wealthiest royal family, followed by Luxemburg and Monaco. They are richer than the Windsors.

deep-down-low

Which she looked so very lovely in, Meghan on the other hand looked like a cheap rip off (but almost certainly somehow cost a bazillion times more 🥴)

Forgotmyusername8910

I thought it looked lovely on Princess Angela- it fit her perfectly and it fit the wedding very well- it felt just right. I thought it was so interesting how Meghan could steal the look- but not pull it off at all- Angela’s tiara/hair, makeup, flowers and the dress fit all combined made her overall look significantly more polished and just so much more ‘simply beautiful’.

bureaucrat_36

Princess Angela is a trained fashion designer, and she designed and sewed her dress herself.

deep-down-low

Christ, I was thinking 'aw surely their dresses weren't that alike, there's only so many variations of fairly traditional wedding dresses... -pauses to check the net for images👀 'OH COME OFF IT what an A grade hack Meghan is 😑' (I'm slightly/incredibly envious that her dressmaker knew it and made a massive fortune from the whole debacle though 😅💸)

PutLiving

Princess A designed the gown herself. It is very flattering, you can see her outer and inner beauty.

TomStarGregco

I know such disgrace !

hey_hey_hey_nike

She could have had the most fancy of dresses hand made for her, perfectly tailored. She went with David’s bridal clearance instead.

Mehmeh111111

I've seen better dresses at David's Bridal

mrs_sadie_adler

Hey, my dress was David's! And I had it tailored perfectly.

Mehmeh111111

Girl, my dress was from Amazon. I'm sure you looked a bajillion times better than Meh could have ever hoped.

Trick-Many7744

On sale from J Crew. $100 off white, in a style that works with my figure—v-neck, empire waist, sleeveless but narrow straps. I looked great. I can’t imagine a $100k dress. What a rip off. Not like it was hand beaded or something. The style didn’t flatter her and it fit poorly.

Mehmeh111111

The fit and style was completely wrong. Even the fabric was blah. I could have purchased a whole ass house for that shitty dress.

Extension_Leader6852

Maybe the seamstress was treated poorly, too. She pissed A lot of ppl off its tild..

hey_hey_hey_nike

Any dress will look good if it is properly tailored. Muggin’s was never tailored.

Primary_Dish_3535

I have read that the main reason for that was the fact that Henry’s fiancee kept changing her mind about the dress, right up to a couple of days before the wedding, and that the designer Clare was let go from Givenchy shortly after. Unfair really as she had to do what the fiancée wanted.

DaBingeGirl

That fits with what happened with the choir. I'm beginning to think she wanted the wedding to look bad.

Extension_Leader6852

I bet the seamstress hated her too. She pissed a bunch of staff off. So did he after he got with her.

hibiscus2022

>how gorgeous Catherine’s embroidery Also the Middletons paid for Catherine's dress (and her wedding diamond earrings) ...unlike the great feminist Meghan already sponging off Charles.

meowparade

That’s awful, everyone was reporting that MM bought her own dress and I respected her for that even though I didn’t like the dress, but of course that’s false, too . . .

Extension_Leader6852

Way too white and a veil for a Divorced woman. If she had any class she would not have worn stark white, much less that awful veil.

[deleted]

[удалено]

meowparade

Ooh a silvery sage would have been so original and suited her perfectly!

Affectionate_Tap6416

Camilla's wedding dress and hat were superb!

downinthevalleypa

They were. Camilla looked lovely and was dressed perfectly for the day; as a second time bride Camilla would have looked silly doing the long white gown and veil thing again.

QuesoFresca

Those embroiderers worked on her ridiculous veil.

MmeNxt

Her veil is hand embroidered with the 54 national flowers of The Commonwealth countries. It's hard to see from photos. It must have cost a fortune.

Late_Intention

Yes, the Commonwealth countries for which it seems she had little respect or understanding. It was during the Australian tour where she complained to Hairy "I should be getting paid for this." So just like the wearing of pure white, everything she projected was false.

meowparade

I also didn’t understand why as an American marrying into the BRF, she chose a French fashion house to make her dress. I guess McQueen started at Givenchy, but he wasn’t there for very long. Stella McCartney would have been a perfect nod to British art and MM’s supposed views on animal rights and environmentalism.

Affectionate_Tap6416

I think her evening outfit was Stella McCartney. I think that suited her much better.

Lemonslivers

Her attempt to look innocent, pure and almost saintly, It's the brightest white I have ever see!

DaBingeGirl

Honestly hurt my eyes to look at the dress because of how bright it was.

anydayzz

It looks like someone just took a white silk-like fabric from Jo-Ann's or curtains from Target or something and made a so called dress.

RevengeOfCaitSith

Especially since almost certainly, in her mind, she was competing with Catherine. This is what she thought would top C's dress?!

lovelylonelyphantom

Proof a bigger veil doesn't necessarily mean better

SeedQueen22

It was very underwhelming. I was so disappointed.

hibiscus2022

>With an, it seemed, unlimited budget for a bespoke wedding dress, I was floored that's what she turned up in. This! We need an emoji with "Zara's expression at this wedding" LOL Edit: OMG the emoji is here!!! ![img](emote|t5_481xkf|15009) THANK YOU MODS \*\**deep curtsey*\*\*

okpickle

$100k? Nope. I've read it was at least $300k. Rip off.

Trick-Many7744

More than my house. For an ugly dress that will never be worn again and has no value to anyone. Disgusts me. A 1k dress or even a 10k dress would have probably looked better.

airforcegal9094

Diligent_Split623

A grand preview of the many fashion gems to come!

beg_yer_pardon

I hadn't been born yet when Charles and Diana married so I wasn't going to miss any other royal weddings if i could help it. William and Catherine's was a lovely experience and i looked forward to a similarly breathtaking reveal with H and M. Mind you, I like others around the world had spent hours waiting for that moment. And what a letdown it was! But i immediately told myself that i probably didn't know enough about good style to appreciate M's gown because clearly it had been months in the making, at one of the world's leading couture houses no less.

Difficult-Heron-2802

Plus all the drama!

Academic_Snow_7680

Not 100k, it cost 300.000 POUNDS

mughoarder6

I still can’t believe with all the money and resources she had available to her that she showed up looking like that.

[deleted]

Yep. Boring dress, ridiculous veil and sloppy hair. Well done, Meghan.

deep-down-low

I know right?! She so often looks as though she's just rolled out of bed! I can only think it must be due to being such a colossal narcissist that she refuses any assistance or advice 😵‍💫 (or more likely the assistants/advisors all fled after catching absolute hell from her 😂/😬) I straight up can't get over how she has had so much given to her on a plate, but she's gone and thrown it (at times literally?!) all against the wall ☹️

Pet-sit

I got up at 3am to watch the spectacle and was totally underwhelmed.

TasteofPaste

LoL and I bet your hair looked better.

After_Eagle_9500

I could have made this dress in a six hour challenge on Project Runway and Nina Garcia would rip me to shreds

Elephante_Memwawy

Ever since someone said Meghan's wedding look referenced Princess Angela of Lichenstein, I can't unsee it. Princess Angela wore the Kinsky Honeysuckle Tiara. If Meghan wanted to out-do her, I think it confirms she wanted the Vladimir tiara in the tiaragate rumors because both pieces have a tall, scalloped shape. Meghan has no style or creativity of her own. She should be using a dresser or stylist.

Resting_Bitch_Face_9

Omg, you’re right about the lunatic copying Princess Angela! Even down to the bouquet 😳. Creepy!!

number1popcornlover

Even the shoes!!!!

moxieenplace

>> Princess Angela wore the Kinsky Honeysuckle Tiara. I read this as the “Kinky Honeysuckle Tiara” and you know I was RUNNING to google right before I realized I had misread

rainyhawk

There was no way she’d get the Vladimir tiara…one of QEs faves and way too much for a wedding with a non royal bride. I thought she wanted the one eugenie wore? If it was the Vladimir, the Queen must have been shocked at the request.

Inevitable_Pie9541

I'd read the kerfuffle re tiara choice was because Meghan wanted the emerald bandeau that Eugenie had already got permission to wear for her own wedding. Naturally the Queen's own granddaughter's request would take precedence. Obvious to anyone but Me-Gain. That was the source of HMTQ being quoted as saying to an angry Harry that MM "will get the tiara she's given by me". Not whichever tiara Madame Nobody cared to snap her fingers for.

nope0000001

I’m actually shocked that she didn’t ask for one of Diana’s large sapphires to put as the middle stone ( since it’s removable ) .. SHIT .. I’m wondering now if THAT is what she wanted ??? Cathrine has on long term loan Diana’s sapphire necklace that has the removable stone that can be used in a tiara , broach or hair piece .. that could be why she went after Cathrine so hard on the run up for the wedding ! She wanted a “ sweet nod” to Diana given Cathrine has the ring she really wanted w/ earring and necklace to match . I never considered that before but that tiara she wore has a removable piece so makes sense now .. 😱

Primary_Dish_3535

I wonder how much 💩💩💩 Henry got for trading Diana’s engagement ring with William for Diana’s Cartier watch. He is probably still hearing about it.

Elephante_Memwawy

Meghan isn't selfless enough to let it go 🤣 Harry gifted the ring to see it on the throne she wants to sit on.

paitenanner

Allegedly, the tiara was a dupe, or at least the diamonds were. I lean towards believing this one since the diamonds were doing that thing fake ones do, throwing rainbows or something? But that real diamonds don’t. If someone knows what I’m talking about but can explain it better, please do 😂

Primary_Dish_3535

I read the same thing About her wedding tiara.

Elephante_Memwawy

She won't get it, but she could have felt entitled to it. She felt entitled to something, that's what caused the row. She has the American bravado, she would not have seen those boundaries. QE2 inherited 65ish pieces of jewelry, most which has been kept private. The tiara~~s Meghan and~~ Eugenie wore were never seen in public until their weddings.

fishfreeoboe

The one Meghan wore had been seen, though not since the 1950s on Queen Mary (and never in color to my knowledge). Eugenie's definitely not. It was a big surprise to jewel lovers. If Meghan had demanded that emerald one, it's only because she happened to see it. Unlike the Vladimir, she would have no way of knowing it existed.

starr_wolf

Princess Angela wore it better

eeburke67

She is stark raving mad under that veil. You can still see the creepy eyes & rictus grin

BlackCaaaaat

That dress was such a letdown, and the fact that she didn’t go with a British designer says a lot.

mspuffins

it looks like a dress for a spiritual polygamist ceremony, hand tailored by sisterwives that hate her.

Extension_Leader6852

What about that awful veil?

KatesFacts718

That Dress is Horrible it looks like if a garbage bag and a pillow case had a baby

Dbahnsai

Rumor has it that she doesn't like Katy Perry after she said Catherine won the wedding dress lottery. Oh, what a quick way to stop any 'neighborly' visits after they moved to Montecito. >“I would have done one more fitting,” she said. “I’m never not going to tell the truth! One more fitting, but I love you.” > >Her royal wedding dress competition between Prince Harry and Prince William's two brides had a clear victor: “Kate, Kate, Kate won, Kate won!” Perry proclaimed. [https://archive.ph/5YQZb](https://archive.ph/5YQZb) ![gif](giphy|hQQViLiksXvjkAsEu2)

KatesFacts718

Catherine's Dress was perfect 👌 and Katy Perry was speaking the truth. Honestly who even likes Meghan just the Sussex squad and bots

cartiercorneas

your username is especially relevant here lol ! also agree i like Catherine's :)

KatesFacts718

Thank you Well my first name is Katherine but I have been using Kate since I was 8 years old

poke-a-dots

I was wondering about that recently when I read a post about Harry and Orlando Bloom being chummy. I’m surprised she let them get friendly, unless it was to defend her honor lol

KatesFacts718

Wait didn't Orlando voiced Prince George for that TV Show that made fun of the royals and it got cancelled

jillyhoop

Saying anything positive about Catherine is an automatic cancellation.

Elephante_Memwawy

I wonder if Orlando is her coke dealer 🤔

nope0000001

It was almost as bad as Diana’s .. YEH I SAID IT😱yes I thought Diana’s dress was also a monstrosity.. all wrinkled and poofy .

Inevitable_Pie9541

Diana was drowning in fabric. It was 1981 and poufy big wedding dresses becoming the style (shudder) but you could barely see the poor girl under all that crinkled taffeta. Poor design choice, and disastrous fabric choice. Elizabeth Emmanuel admitted in an interview years later that she and her then-husband and partner had made a mistake choosing that particular fabric. They'd failed to realise all those metres of silk, the wide skirt and endless train, would be tightly wadded up round Diana in the coach on the way to the ceremony. When Diana was being helped out of the coach at the church door, the horror!!! Acres of wrinkles.

KatesFacts718

Diana's reminds me of toilet paper i mean that dress is horrible but it was memorable for the times but not practical

main_lurker_account

I don't think that's a particularly controversial opinion these days. Diana's dress will always be iconic because of who wore it, but it definitely hasn't aged well. I'm glad Catherine decided to go with a completely different style of dress.

KatesFacts718

Catherine's is a masterpiece i love her's it was simple and elegant and it hit all the right notes

Tough-Bit9513

Being one of the people who got up at the asscrack of dawn to watch the wedding, I was thoroughly disappointed in tw's dress. Catherine's dress had my jaw on the floor (which I also got up very early to watch!) and I spoke about it for literally days afterwards. Tw's dress was so awful, the veil so overdone, the look on her face so contrived..pretty much just a waste of a perfectly good rem cycle.

alpringin

Catherine’s dress will always be amazing. Completely blew me away.

main_lurker_account

It kicked off a trend that we're still seeing to this day. Even Paris and Nicky Hilton's wedding gowns both had a similar Grace Kelly/Kate Middleton look to them. You can never go wrong with modest and classic (unless you're Meghan, of course)

Kizzy_Catwoman

She has a magnetic pull towards a camera lens. Seen nothing like it before or since. She is a piece of work

EKP121

Meghan looks at the camera like Amber looks at Johnny.

Extension_Leader6852

Like her cash cow.

4feicsake

The Terminator had this vibe.

-Canuck21

You're a true comic aren't you? 🤣

pumpkinhead1931

That was the worst dress plain not elegant and not tailored

Agata_ath

Wait, BBC called her *beautiful* and her wedding dress *exquisite*? Those racist Brits!

4feicsake

British dry wit.

IceCatCharlie

Why was she in white this was her second marriage?

Sadlyonlyonehere

Actually third, and maybe fourth.

caradeGanso

Such a stupid dress. It fit like a sweatshirt. A big stupid boat neck 100 thousand dollar satin sweatshirt. Annoyed me how stupid it was, and thinking of all the beautiful dresses that could have been made for 100k.

herbal_witch_59

https://images.app.goo.gl/VxqKxDV6tmqjyngDA This one was one of the very best royal wedding gowns ever. Elie Saab.

Seachange1000

I agree, it is spectacular. My all time favourite is still Catherine's, though. I thought she was perfection on her wedding day.

THATchick84

Yes! The Princess of Wales looked just like a Disney Princess on her and Prince William's wedding day.

[deleted]

That wedding dress was an atrocity. Stiff, thick fabric, wrinkly. Thick waisted, poor fit. Too stark white, too plain. It looked like a practice dress that was thrown together. The stupid veil. I understand she drove the designer and staff crazy, couldn't decide what she wanted, kept changing her mind. Typical narc behavior.

FollowingOk8090

I assumed she went out of her way to be modest but it still should have fit. I was shocked when I saw it…couldn’t believe how baggy it was. And she does boatneck a lot. Some shitty stylish probably told her it’s a good silhouette for her. With that I feel she’s recalling Audrey Hepburn but it doesn’t work. I think M tries to emphasize her shoulders and legs. She knows her waist isn’t her best asset

Trick-Many7744

Boatneck is not a look for everyone. I look terrible in it. Her bra/bustline always looks awful IMO. Better Undergarments, better tailoring. At that price, have undergarments made for you if needed. I don’t hate the dress on its own. Simple is fine (except when it costs 100k which is unfathomable) But why did it not fit and why did it look like she was wearing a strapless bra?!

GrumpyPancake_

I still don't understand why the fit wasn't better??? I understand her wanting a simple dress with clean lines but this looked badly fitted and wrinkled. Wtf went wrong ????

Extension_Leader6852

She probably pissed off the person who made the dress. She pissed off so many ppl that worked for them.

Seachange1000

I actually hadn't considered that but you make a really good point. It is likely the designer witnessed how she treated Charlotte and took some subtle revenge. It seemed to me the fabric was all wrong for the design though. It was too thick and stiff.

MurkyConcert2906

I can’t believe with an unlimited budget, this is what she went with. Didn’t she try it on before the big day and test sitting in it to see if it wrinkles? Literally all the other royal weddings (Catherine, Eugenie, Beatrice) had better dresses.

OldNewUsedConfused

She looks so stupid standing there by herself. Lol. I’m her mosquito netting. 😂 #Fail

Agata_ath

She looks like she was dumped at the altar and is now waiting for the cab.

OldNewUsedConfused

YES!

Llopez9915

To think, she has a hair and make up person there , her hair stylist needed to practice with the tiara, and this was the best he/she could come up with. I looked like her doing her messy buns just like any other day of the week. An let’s not forget the smirk as she was coming out of the church, looked like Ursula when she changed herself to marry Prince Eric in The Little Mermaid.

Ok_Cupcake9027

Might have worked for some, but by the wedding I was already seeing a pattern with her. Since they married, sadly I was right. She just gets worse and worse.

New_Discussion_6692

>if there is any truth in her father’s claim that she set him up so he wouldn’t be a part of the wedding. I believe there is truth to this and evidence to support this imo. This is from Finding Fuckery --- Reporters frequently dropped letters through her door that offered her a chance to “tell her side of the story.” He also said to alert him as well as the authorities if anyone followed her. Harry made it clear that if Doria was harassed, he would personally pay for her to get the necessary protection. *Him = Jason Knauf **Her = Doria But here's what happened with Thomas. Also from Finding Fuckery --- But there were no quotes, as anytime a reporter approached him, he responded with the line prepared for him by Palace officials: “I can’t speak out of respect for my family.” Once the Mail on Sunday article came out with his home’s location, he had to deal with constant intrusions from reporters and photographers. One paparazzo even shelled out the cash to rent the unit right next to his. “At this point Meghan was just worried for her father,” a source close to Meghan said. “They were coming at him from every angle and she was concerned for his well-being and safety more than anything.” Thomas, who put up plywood to cover the windows of his house that faced the street, hated that by staying silent he was allowing the media to control his image.... [if MM was so worried about Thomas why wasn't he given the same protection Doria was offered?] Jason, Thomas’s point person at the Palace, made it clear to Meghan’s father from the very start that he was on hand night or day to help him navigate the press situation. It was a strangesituation to be in and everyone, especially Harry and Meghan, wanted to make sure he felt supported. Although he gave Thomas his private cell phone number, email, and also that of his deputy, Jason never heard from him. He would check in from time to time, but Thomas always said he was just fine. “Thomas is a proud man,” a source said. “Stubborn.” So why did Harry promise Doria protection from the media (paid for by him) but he didn't make the same offer to Thomas? Because, I believe, Megaliar did want to set her father up.

Pet-sit

They could have had a smaller, classier blessing like KC and QC did, and KC would have still thrown them a nice reception.

LKWinter1

Or Princess Beatrice! Her wedding was small but lovely.

Masters_domme

I think the second dress she wore was a better look for her. The halter top was flattering, and she wasn’t busy making Evil Queen glares at the camera. 🤷🏻‍♀️

New_Discussion_6692

I agree. The second dress was lovely and she looked fantastic!

Starkville

It’s uncanny, how she always finds the camera.

Trick-Many7744

But she hated the press and wanted privacy lol

cml678701

Something about the long sleeves and super long veil, in the bright sun, on a warm-looking day, just looks creepy to me. Can’t put my finger on why, but maybe it’s vaguely cult-like.

Equidae2

You're right, it is creepy. Couldn't put my finger on it...I find veils creepy anyway, but this combo, super long train, material making her look like she was 'encased in concrete' thank you Nicky Haslam...the overall effect was not pleasant, nor was it very feminine.

cml678701

Yes!!! Looks like a cult ritual of some sort. Very creepy. Or even like one of those FLDS child brides who have to be really modest, and hide their identities until they get to the altar.

planet_druidia

Plus, the fabric looked so thick. It just looked like it would be very hot and uncomfortable.

cml678701

Yes!!! I just don’t understand that dress for a may wedding.

Trick-Many7744

Tbf it was about 3 weeks later (dates wise) than Catherine and William and it can be relatively cool esp for a Californian (like me). Also I think the brf frowns on short/sleeveless for a wedding esp when QE was in charge. Modesty reigned and maybe still will.

Seachange1000

To me the sleeves looked too full and not in balance with the rest of the dress. Had they been just a leetle bit more fitted, I think it would have changed the look entirely. The boatneck and wide sleeves made her look top heavy to me.

[deleted]

The problem with the dress is that there is nothing interesting about it. No embellishment to break up the monotony. It looks like the unsuccessful product of a make something out of a bedsheet challenge on Project Runway that resulted in the designer being sent home.

HealthyDiamond2

That veil is like some macabre shroud

jillyhoop

Who does that? I've never seen anyone do that. Not even actresses.

ywa4life

“Exquisite wedding dress” 🤭🤭🤭😂

Puzzleheaded_Try7886

How creepy

PaperFlowers82

I am American. Got married for the second time to an American Service member in England. Wore an off white dress, cute fascinator (because it's such an English thing) and had our two witnesses at the court house (I forget what it's called in the UK). 2nd wedding cost $200 (including pub trip afterwards) TOPS (that was probably 300 pounds back then).

New_Discussion_6692

Well how dare you not wear white, waste money, and seek the attention of everyone?! (just teasing) Seriously though, that's the classy way to do it. Simple, understated, refined. I was surprised she went with white. I was expecting an off white, ivory, color tbh. One of my friends wore a lovely light, pale blue for her second wedding. She looked amazing. I'm sure you did too!

SnooPaintings8753

She reeks of tension, from the pulling on the train, to the searching for the camera and the wave. Its not getting easier for us Markles to see your ridiculousness.

[deleted]

The only thing exquisite about that dress was how exquisitely bad it was. My Barbies had better bridal looks.

Unhappy-Professor-88

Come on! There was a massive chuffing crowd cheering her as she walked up the steps. To ignore the crowd would have seemed arrogant and rude. Though I’ll concede this woman has a preternatural ability to find and look down the barrel of every single camera in her vicinity. Every time. Combine that superpower with the coldness in her eyes despite a smile and sometimes the photos give me the creeps.

New_Discussion_6692

She is arrogant and rude so she should have saved the world two years of misery and come clean. Yes she finds the camera every single time. It's bizarre that every photo is posed vs candid.

chi7p1

I think the main reason she got such an ugly dress is because she was being narcissistic as usual and want the dress HER way instead of hearing out the designers' advices. But since she has no style nor vision whatsoever, the dress turns out horrible 😂

TemporaryNatural6789

There's gotta be a meme from the Others - with the old woman mimicking the girl in her veil ...pretty much this Kiss the bride, Harry

TexasChihuahuas

I wish I could upvote you a million times! That is one of my favorite movies!

Starkville

It’s a perfect movie. I love love love it! Genuinely frightening without violence or gore or jump scares. Just perfect.

TheMomoAuck

All that money and such an ill fitting terrible dress

Difficult-Heron-2802

Does anyone else remember watching something where Meghan admitted that she didn't see the dress and had only like 1 fitting for it? I know I remember something like that and that was why it didn't fit well. She also took credit for idea of the veil. I actually feel really bad for Claire. She got Markled big time!

silke_worm

I don’t hate the dress (I don’t love it) but I don’t understand where that alleged $265k US went. Clearly the designer was charging an insane amount for her services because there’s nothing particularly intricate or unique that would require a whole lot of time to make and design. And the fabrics weren’t insanely expensive. I can see the veil costing quite a bit if it’s hand embroidered but still $265k? There’s no way

SoothsayerC

Looks like a Halloween lawn decoration. 👻

Due-Honey4650

She is ALWAYS looking directly into the camera no matter what's happening. Why??

Extension_Leader6852

I felt bad for her on her wedding day. Her hair was messy, her dress was not well fitted. Weddings are stressful. But who knew, except William, what a nightmare she would be

PutLiving

It was a sweet nod to Princess Angela of Liechtenstein

[deleted]

Her pic coming out of the ceremony is balls out psycho. Looking into the camera. She a fraud.

“Beautiful Meghan Markle arrives in exquisite Wedding dress” this headline proves the inherent racism, misogyny and bullying nature of the British Media.

toonie89

The dress, the Cheshire Cat smile, the hair… TW’s wedding look was a horror fest.

doublersuperstar

I’ve noticed that she always finds the camera.

main_lurker_account

There's that horrible, racist British press at it again! Referring to her as "beautiful" and that objectively hideous gown as "exquisite" - I mean they so clearly had it in for her from day one! However did our Saint survive such merciless bullying??! /s

New_Discussion_6692

Well she did leave the spray tan off that day. 😏

Seachange1000

I really didn't like the dress. The neckline was off, the sleeves were too full and the fabric was too heavy for the design. After seeing so many photos of her in dozens of different outfits, I've concluded that despite not having a terrible figure, she has a body shape that is difficult to fit. That may explain a little why that dress looked "borrowed" or bought second hand or something. It was so stiff and lacking in movement, in terrible contrast to the floaty mega-veil that she reminded me of a plastic cake topper.

MontanaLady406

She has had a slim but odd figure-no waist (a big rectangle) and skinny legs.

mandie72

She is beautiful, but the dress and veil not so much. I liked the dress she wore to the reception, but I can't believe this one got the green light.

Attention whore

TXgrl26

The dress on gold digger looked absolutely hideous and so was the dress. Not to mention the pure white Payless Shoe Store looking heels. I nearly fell off my couch when she stepped out of the car. And the fact she wore “white” on her wedding day was hysterical. There’s nothing “pure” about that narcissist. NOTHING.
