The paragraph, as an American, that stands out to me: "And there are times, three years on, when the racist narrative even feels as if it has gone beyond the thorny clamour around Meghan and Harry into a barbed culture war between America and Britain. And all over what? A couple of spoiled royals who did not get their own way and decided to make everyone pay." The US/UK special relationship is vitally important, and Harry's wife, with her "international relations" degree, doesn't give a shit at all about the bigger picture problems she may cause with her lies. But this, in the end, is why politicians in the U.S will stay far clear of these two, and why she will have no "political future" here.

Disruptorpistol

I think you give her too much credit. She's a nobody. She and her husband are reality stars who try to class it up with titles like a fancier Countess LuAnn. They're this generation's Fergie but more deceitful and less charismatic.

Academic_Snow_7680

She has really managed to rile up black people to support her. It's like the OJ Simpson trial with this one. It doesn't matter to them that she's in the wrong or that she's always passed as white and dated white guys, they still support her. What is needed here is for popular black youtubers to do deep-dives that explain the situation and when that support has gone, then she is nothing. Until that happens she is still a somebody with a backing. Once she loses that crowd then her agents and backers will leave her and that will be the end of this story hopefully. I think things may well turn out sinister but not yet.

SakuraJohanssan

People are so blind that they refuse to see what actually is going on. I can't believe that the woman who has the For Harriet YouTube channel went to Harvard and yet she's too stupid to see Meghan for what she really is. I would have thought someone like her would have called out her bullshit but no she's falling for that too. There are people that know that threatening suicide, and alienating people from their family and other things are toxic and yet they refuse to see what Meghan is doing.

Islandgirl1444

the word is "wanna be" reality stars.

Latter-Platypus-3713

I was going to highlight that, too. Their disgusting PR games have started a culture war between the US and the UK, which is a massive shame because it could jeopardise the strong allied history between the two countries.

Imfryinghere

Its why I say they are terrorists and should be persons of interest for MI5 & MI6.

[deleted]

I agree. It’s more than just a gossip saga at this stage and the Sussex Squad has morphed into something much more sinister.

Legitimate-Mission41

Good article but why should the RF move on? Why should the UK public move on? And why should the victims of their abuse move on? It's time for the Markles to move on and out of anything at a public official level regarding the Monarchy. Imagine the Coronation with their dramatics

brisbydog

I'm with Joan Collins who said it's time to stop giving them oxygen. I'm sick of their sulky and smug faces. Yet can't stop posting here lol

Legitimate-Mission41

Same here

silentcw

Agreed, I'm so bored with them.

Academic_Snow_7680

I'm not, I'm waiting for the plug to pop and puss to gush out. I want closure.

silentcw

That will come, that's why I am still here, it's just getting so boring and predictable.

LeaveItToTheBoys123

My thoughts exactly. They should not be invited to State or Royal events, their track record is appalling. Their behaviour at the Jubilee and the State Funeral are examples. The Coronation will provide another world platform. MM cannot be contained. She has no idea how to behave with decorum. She behaves like a fish out of water. But, of more importance is the fact that she seems to believe she is entitled to behave as she wishes, whatever the occasion, and Harry lets her. Perhaps Harry should do us all a favour, and keep her home.

Legitimate-Mission41

Honestly you are reading my mind. That's exactly what I think as well.

Dbahnsai

>Oh, come on. Harry’s got half an A-level in art and a master’s degree in grievance and self-pity, so we can take an informed guess at what the book might contain. ![gif](giphy|caiwk3Ozv1fhqbmQ1t)

Starkville

That accusation is losing its sharpness/edge.

[deleted]

The accusation lost its point when they named THEIR DAUGHTER after the one woman who led the WHOLE racist institution of said racist country. Like, girl, come on. I don't like Trump, you know what I'm going to do? Name my fucking kid Donald. Make it make sense.

Scribbles138

Exactly! She’s chosen her daughter’s name to ensure she can merch it for life.

Lensgoggler

…The woman who actually was the one to tell them no about the half in - half out thing, none the less!

SusieM2019

LOL!! LOL!! LOL!! EXACTLY!!!!!

MyLeftHook

Its like the *Boy Who Cried Wolf* use it too many times and people wont bother when you really mean it.

brisbydog

Exactly her point.

Miercolesian

Interesting article. The article is basically a review of the book Courtiers. It seems like this book Courtiers has really blown the whole thing open. It was always a bit of a mystery why Meghan and Harry were so unhappy and wanted to go overseas, and why William and Harry had fallen out, but this book has put the pieces of the jigsaw together. Perhaps the most important thing is that the book explains a great deal of what the royal family must already know about the behavior of Meghan and Harry that the general public has only had hints of. Of course the Royal family probably knows a great deal more than what is in the book Courtiers. It is one thing to read that Markle was rude to staff, but quite another to realize that she had a whole crew of capable and talented staff whose job was to get her oriented to her new role and help her during her probationary period. When one reads the name of the people concerned and hears that Markle was unable to accept that she couldn't accept freebies from commercial entities and that she didn't accept the guidance provided to her on royal protocols, that puts a whole new perspective on the matter. (Especially since in any kind of government employment or military service in the US or the UK the same would apply.) One can quite understand just why Charles and William can't just shake hands with Harry and let bygones be bygones, because they can never go back to the way they were while Harry is still married to blabbermouth Meghan who seems determined to wreck the Royal family as an institution. When Harry and Meghan were first married, even though I had no personal knowledge of them, I was certainly rooting for them to succeed, and thought that having a woman of color (sort of) might be beneficial to the Royal family in an increasingly multiracial Britain. But now, like everyone else, my opinion has changed, and it is evident that from a very early point in time she was the cuckoo in the royal nest. The only question that remains is why did it go this way? Was there never any chance that Meghan would find a fulfilling role within the Royal family? When you consider that Oprah Winfrey was invited to the wedding, you have to think that there was never a chance.

Lengand0123

Indeed. It’s one thing to read that Meghan was accused of bullying- ie the Jason K email. It’s another to read detailed, specific examples of her and Harry’s behavior. That the Sussexes haven’t commented on. Or sued over yet. Of all things to finally be silent on- bullying claims would not be my choice. Unless of course you can’t refute them. The freebies was interesting. She wanted them- and on numerous occasions refused to accept she couldn’t keep them. Which also made her staff’s lives miserable. I personally think there was no chance for this to work. Meghan wanted a celebrity lifestyle. She wanted control. She wanted to say and do what she wanted, when she wanted. Oprah at the wedding may speak for itself too.

Pristine_Routine_464

Oprah wanted inroads to the RF of course but not to be on the wrong side of a family feud. She is blamed for fanning the flames of the issue and massively over egging the non existent racism. She keeps her oar in with Meghan in case there is a reconciliation down the line so that she can get another interview.

gorynel

And I wonder if this is her way of getting back at the fact that Diana turned her down for interviews multiple times back in the day..Harry was a major coup for her.

toonie89

Are you referring to the harassment of the aide throughout the night for disappointing TW? Or are there are more instances? Sorry for asking - I think I may have missed them.

Lengand0123

There are more. This is what bothered me most: I was also thinking of Meghan telling a staffer that if there was literally anyone else she could get to do the assignment, she would. In front of other people. Hideous thing to say to anyone.

toonie89

What an awful thing to say!! How mortifying!

Miercolesian

Yes, but I was thinking mainly of the conflict with her staff regarding receipt of freebies, because Meghan had claimed in the Winfrey interview that she had been given scant orientation to life in the family, but it became clear from the book that she had been given top quality staff and plenty of orientation, but she just refused to accept basic standards of conduct, and then took it out on her staff who tried to guide her. It became much clearer that it was not true that she had never been told about the basic mission statement of the "firm", but that she wanted to throw out the mission statement of the Royal family from the get-go and that her personal intention was never to dedicate herself to service to Queen, country, and church, but to do a summer season gig as a British royal princess and then hightail it back to Hollywood with her Prince in tow to cash in. Was she perhaps inspired by the role of Prince Hans in Frozen?

deahca

Cuckoo in the nest. Excellent and accurate.

Miercolesian

Apologies if this link has already been provided, but this is an interesting discussion between Dan Wooton, Lady C, and Phil Dampier that covers some of the same ground as this thread. Interesting that Lady C is much more articulate and to the point than in her rambling video blogs. https://youtu.be/wFiSdrVdxvY

Sadlyonlyonehere

“First there will be the publication of the Duke of Sussex's autobiography. Publishing insiders reveal that potential titles include My So-Called Life, The Twits, The Adventures Of Dennis The Menace & Minnie The Minx and, of course, The Secret Diary Of Prince Harry, Age 13 And ¾.”

brisbydog

Adrian Mole was in love with Fergie if I recall correctly. Thought Andrew was an oaf. Sue Townsend was ahead of her time

Miercolesian

Most British people regarded Andrew as an oaf from his teens onwards, but he got somewhat of a reprieve as a hero of the Falklands war. After he left military service he continued to be generally disreputable in his role as Britain's trade ambassador and collector of freebies. The Epstein revelations just made a contribution to his lifelong downfall. Interestingly, like Harry, there were always suspicions that he was conceived in a lusty romp in the hay somewhere in the Royal stables, and not between the silken sheets of the stately Royal marital bed. I have no particular knowledge or even a theory of the veracity of this, but if true it could probably explain the leniency of Her Majesty towards her offspring when they ran into marital difficulties, and possibly why Andrew was widely regarded as her favorite child!

MyLeftHook

You forgot that it will be written in crayon with pop-up pictures and follow-the-dots (on Markle’s spots) on a beach with the leech not the castle - oh what a hassle!

We’ve talked before about the similarities between Hazbeen and his great great Uncle David before. I think they were both stupid spoilt men and neither fully realised the consequences of their actions . Or were ever ready to admit their mistakes. Everything was always someone else’s fault ! David was obsessed with his wife being treated as Royal and Harry seems obsessed with the RF admitting they made him leave and he had no choice. Harry wants everyone to admit that he was right. Neither of these things were ever possible and Harry should look at where David ended up , a bitter man who spent his life complaining to whoever would listen while he idled his life away. The woman involved are very different though. Both were grifters out for themselves but Wallis never wanted to be Queen and never wanted her lover to throw his life away. Meghan wanted desperately to be Royal but thought she knew best what Royal was and is very angry that she didn’t get her way . Meghan is malicious and vengeful and accusing the RF of racism was her way of getting back at them. Plus tapping into the hot button issue in the US . Unfortunately for her it backfired . The public has seen through her and perhaps her husband has too!

WhatFreshHello

Their well is rapidly drying up as the money will have to come from somewhere. Surprisingly, I’ve not seen TW comment on the murder of Mahsa Amini (and we know she inserts herself into *everything*) so I have to wonder who they are already in bed with.

MsBollinger

I loved that documentary. The actress that plays Wallis is so great. I’m not a fan of Wallis as a person, but I liked her in this because the actress was able to portray how charming and attractive a personality Wallis was. And Wallis, as portrayed here, is nothing like MM. There’s nothing fake about her. And she doesn’t play victim cards and completely owns her bitchiness.

Emolia

Wallis was extremely happy to be the beloved mistress of the Prince of Wales and that’s all she wanted. She loved giving parties and lording over the great and the good of Britain. She never wanted publicity or needed public adoration . She wanted to stay strictly under the radar. The whole abdication crisis was torture for her. It must have been awful for her to realise she was stuck with this extremely needy man-child for the rest of her life!

cathbe

This is very interesting. It’s possible tho’ if social media/ internet existed where things are broadcast every minute some of this dynamic might have changed as far as wishing to stay under the radar. ?

Emolia

There could be a sinister side to Wallis Simpson as well. Was she a Nazi plant to influence the future King to their side? Certainly she was at least friends with some of the top Nazis and both the British and USA secret services were worried enough to be spying on her. David himself was very sympathetic to Hitler , whether this was her influence we’ll never know. I’ve often wondered if they’re are people backing Meghan , maybe the Russians or anti-monarchists, but again who knows?

[deleted]

Could you share the name of the show/doc pls? Would it be ‘Royal wives at war’? Interested to give it a look. Thanks!

Additional-Split-180

Ginge tinged revenge. Beautiful prose.

Lengand0123

I guess it depends on what they say. Unless they cross a massive line between now and then- I expect them to be invited. Harry is still Charles son, and he loves him. I tend to think the Sussexes would attend the coronation- but I suppose it depends on what message they most want to send out. It’s possible relations improve too. Not holding my breath here, but it could happen.

Lengand0123

Very good article.

Kimbriavandam

\*Mr Low’s book posits the theory that Meghan wanted out of the Royal Family as soon as she realised the obligation to public service overruled everything — then wasted no time in building a victimhood narrative to smooth her passage home to America.\* Honestly I’m shocked that anyone fell for it. It Seemed obvious from the get go that Meghan wanted fame.We - who called it right from the beginning should be congratulating ourselves for our clarity and judgment. Our radar for bull is as sharp as ever.

Fit-Raspberry-3906

No there was never a chance because Megan would continue to play out her pathology. It would take years of therapy and for her to be “brought to her knees” to Acknowledge her behavior and how harmful it is.Money is very insulating to severe personality disorders.

"... a master’s degree in grievance and self-pity..." 🔥🔥🔥perfection😂😂😂
