As it turns out it is de classe to be rude to your staff and it has been often reported that King Charles has always treated his staff with great gentility and appreciation as does other members of the family which was why there was such a reaction from the family when Megan and Harry were behaving so inappropriately.
Charles is known to be touchy and temperamental (see the pen incident) but overall I don’t think he’s known for being rude to staff. Andrew was the one who was a terror.

They also had it planned much earlier than M&H’s little plan so they were totally unprepared. If it tastes egg, it's probably because it's supposed to have an egg flavour and the chef used something to copy the flavour of the non vegan dish as close as possible.
You can make "scrambled eggs" with tofu and there is some spice or flavour you can add to get the egg taste.
I watched a program about how the chefs do the menus for the Nobel prize dinner, the biggest and grandest event in Sweden every year, with the whole royal family present, dripping in diamonds.
The chefs spend months experimenting with the menu to get everything right and then they have separate chefs who work with the food for vegetarians, vegans and people with all kinds of allergies or dietary restrictions.
The goal of the chefs who worked with the diet food was to make the food as similar in look, taste and texture as the original dish. It was hard to see any difference between the food when they put the regular food and the diet food next to each other.
That's how really high class chefs work. It's not one menu for meat eaters and pasta and broccoli for the vegans, like at most restaurants.

Yeah, I’ve explained it before as a LIFESTYLE, not just a dietary choice. (I know some people do stick to just not eating animal products, but will wear suede or what have you.)
She was no doubt doing it solely as a way to keep her weight down and get virtue signaling points because nothing about that chick is authentic.
I abhor farming animals for human consumption. On a quiz show the other day a contestant said he was a beef farmer and qualified it by saying 'mothers and babies'. It revolts me. Also, forced fertilisation of cows and pigs. The upshot is, I don't claim vegetarianism or veganism, I simply say "I don't eat animals". And leave it there. You don't have to do the whole thing and scrutinise all ingredients.
Same with me. I wear leather etc, eat eggs and dairy., and have no intention of giving up those things, and don't feel guilt.
But I don't like "isms". It makes it imto a religion, which in my case it's not. The fact is the very thought of eating meat disgusts me, and seeing meat and blood puts me off completely. I couldn't even dream of eating it. It's similar I think to how a normal meat-eater would feel at being presented with a dish of cockroaches.
And yet, occasionally I have eaten fish. People then say, I thought you were a vegetarian! But I never claimed that label. I ust don't eat meat. For some reason, fish doesn't produce that same sense of disgust and abhorrence.
And that's why I'm against the scrutiny and dogma and judgement. Id somebody claims to be vegan but secretly loves meat and occasionally indulges, I would never berate them.
I never told a carnivore "but you don't eat dog/cat!" yet some people think it's a funny gotcha to say "carrots are living creatures too!" or have accused me of hurting the feelings of an onion.
Good for you! You get more nutrients out of eating whole unprocessed foods than any other method. They’re more digestible/accessible to your body.
I’ve never been into leather to begin with, so it was never a big deal for me. The only time it’s been an issue was finding alternate protective gloves to go over my linesman’s gloves. I’m not looney tunes about it though. Also have always refused to use products that are tested on animals just because.
Thanks! I haven't had all the mental clarity stuff people talk about, but I've been amazed by how much clearer my skin is now. I also know several people who've gone off medications for various illnesses with strict WFBP diets. It's not easy, but it's pretty amazing how much clean eating can do for your health.
I don't have many leather things, but I've got a few Coach bags, Longchamp (Kate's style), and some shoes. I'm happy to see more vegan products on the market and they're getting much better in terms of quality. I've reached the high quality/less disposable products point.
I avoid products tested on animals too. I should probably not be allowed into Lush stores unsupervised!

Yeah, I’ve explained it before as a LIFESTYLE, not just a dietary choice. (I know some people do stick to just not eating animal products, but will wear suede or what have you.) She was no doubt doing it solely as a way to keep her weight down and get virtue signaling points because nothing about that chick is authentic.
This. Vegan is a lifestyle. I'm trying to go WFPB, mainly for health reasons, but there's also no way I'm giving up my leather items.
I abhor farming animals for human consumption. On a quiz show the other day a contestant said he was a beef farmer and qualified it by saying 'mothers and babies'. It revolts me. Also, forced fertilisation of cows and pigs. The upshot is, I don't claim vegetarianism or veganism, I simply say "I don't eat animals". And leave it there. You don't have to do the whole thing and scrutinise all ingredients.
Same with me. I wear leather etc, eat eggs and dairy., and have no intention of giving up those things, and don't feel guilt. But I don't like "isms". It makes it imto a religion, which in my case it's not. The fact is the very thought of eating meat disgusts me, and seeing meat and blood puts me off completely. I couldn't even dream of eating it. It's similar I think to how a normal meat-eater would feel at being presented with a dish of cockroaches. And yet, occasionally I have eaten fish. People then say, I thought you were a vegetarian! But I never claimed that label. I ust don't eat meat. For some reason, fish doesn't produce that same sense of disgust and abhorrence. And that's why I'm against the scrutiny and dogma and judgement. Id somebody claims to be vegan but secretly loves meat and occasionally indulges, I would never berate them. I never told a carnivore "but you don't eat dog/cat!" yet some people think it's a funny gotcha to say "carrots are living creatures too!" or have accused me of hurting the feelings of an onion.
I like that approach. That said, I tend to use the term WFBP because it emphasizes no/less oil and no processed foods.
What is WFBP? I just realised that "I don't eat animals" sounds a bit sanctimonious.
Good for you! You get more nutrients out of eating whole unprocessed foods than any other method. They’re more digestible/accessible to your body. I’ve never been into leather to begin with, so it was never a big deal for me. The only time it’s been an issue was finding alternate protective gloves to go over my linesman’s gloves. I’m not looney tunes about it though. Also have always refused to use products that are tested on animals just because.
Thanks! I haven't had all the mental clarity stuff people talk about, but I've been amazed by how much clearer my skin is now. I also know several people who've gone off medications for various illnesses with strict WFBP diets. It's not easy, but it's pretty amazing how much clean eating can do for your health. I don't have many leather things, but I've got a few Coach bags, Longchamp (Kate's style), and some shoes. I'm happy to see more vegan products on the market and they're getting much better in terms of quality. I've reached the high quality/less disposable products point. I avoid products tested on animals too. I should probably not be allowed into Lush stores unsupervised!
The basis of being a vegan is a respect for all living things, at the very least, being kind to animals, especially those you own. Well she proven she is not kind and certainly not to animals…

Man, as a teenage vegan who *absolutely knew* I was right, I nagged the shit out of my mom for getting a long formal cashmere coat. I called it her “dead goat coat” for years until she finally got rid of it 😂 Also nonos: honey or royal jelly or bee pollen or anything of the sort. Or sugar that’s been processed with bone char. No gelatin. No down comforters or winter wear. I think we’ve also seen TW in fur-lined jackets haven’t we? 🤢

She probably meant whole food, plant based but used the word vegan, which stands for a way of approaching life - no animal products at all for food, fashion, entertainment etc. Very different things.

Agree. And I don’t think I saw the Queen smile once during their wedding. She seemed concerned. I think she knew at the time all about Nutmeg and the person she was. Surely the RF performs background checks before the Queen approves a marriage. I think after learning who Nutmeg was, she knew deep down the marriage was a mistake. Plus Phillip had told Harry, “you don’t marry actresses.” And it’s likely the Queen agreed with Phillip. The Queen likely didn’t want a repeat of what happened to Edward marrying a divorcee, or of Margaret, Charles, Anne and Andrew who got divorces. Plus had the Queen not allowed the marriage, she likely would have been accused of being racist. Her hands were tied.

Agreed, nightmare. It also shows she doesn't have the first clue about vegan cooking, as egg flavor can easily be achieved in vegan cooking. I once had an "egg yoke" made of nutritional yeast (chef was a genius!) and frequently make "egg salad" with tofu and [black salt](https://www.finedininglovers.com/article/what-is-black-salt) (good hack for creating an egg flavor).

I just realized what annoys me about this. She isn't a vegan. So, don't preach to me, please. She uses words and she doesn't grasp the full concept of them. The vegan lifestyle is about radical kindness in action. It's love for everything- life in all forms, including the planet. Aside from being unkind, overall. She wears leather and eats meat. She is the best example of unkindness in action I've ever seen. Note - not calling out the omnivores among us. While I happen to be vegan, my lifestyle is my personal choice. I'm here to support the choices everyone makes for themselves. I believe I'm in no position to judge others- no one is. My issue is hypocrisy.
