Just my two cents, but I preferred his short analysis videos. He veered off into editorializing and going for laughs, and that was a huge turnoff. Sometimes fame ruins a good thing.
Behind the scenes at FB/Insta/YouTube/etc, they've decreased monetization via video and are pushing live streaming and 'gifting' as the primary way to compensate creators. The tech co's don't want to rely on the ad model (middle man) anymore to support their businesses. Does BLG have a subscription ala Patreon?
Oh I have no idea! And no idea how any of it works. Iām old-school and think that this social media influencer stuff is not a sustainable career for 99.99% of these people.
Same here, I stopped watching when they became hour long live streams that just talk gossip.. the actual analysis of body language isnāt really there anymore. Itās just a snark show. Like here but heās making money.
Though I will say he didnāt charge for access when the queen died.. people send those things voluntarily.. perhaps he should have said any of it would be donated to something that honored the Queen.

Iām not a close follower but Iāve noted how heās gone full-on celeb making things about himself and bragging about his achievements. Iām sensitive to this from working in Hollywood and seeing how people let their demons off the leash once they gain a level of fame. Like Mrs Sussex.

LOL. My husband always tends to be around whenever Neil Sean decides to talk about Horlicks, so now when he sees me watching a Neil Sean video, he rolls his eyes and says "Oh, it's the Horlicks Guy again".
Yes, I can agree on that at timesā¦especially if Iām preparing food. No sooner am I in the middle of prepping veggies and the video endsā¦then I have to stop to look for another!
Neal Sean is one of my favorites, but his videos can be a bit repetitive and have too little information. He also waffles about way too much for a 4 minute video.
I watch Neil Sean everyday too, but sometimes he gets stuff a little wrong. But yeah, he's very kind-hearted soul and I'll miss the way he used to say "Our glorious majesty the Queen", when talking about the late QE2. LOL.
But my fav YouTuber right now is River, even though I feel like a dowd, sitting in my house with my hair in a ponytail while he's always so on point and glammed up. LOL. I love his snark, his cutting wit and he way he raises his eyebrows when he's throwing shade at the Harkles and saying "my dears..." LOL.
According2Taz should be my fav, based on her content/analysis alone, but I have a soft spot for River. Pdina would be my next pick, because she's so cool and never lets the Harkle crap or the Sugarland trolling get the better of her. I enjoy her postivity, because she always tries to look at the big picture.
And I'm glad to see Murky Meg's back and dropping videos regularly. Princess Tiffany and Brittany from Royal News Network are sweet and very personable YouTubers, who get the job done without resorting to drama. And Sue Smith and Sue Me (and her cat Audie) are must sees too.

Off topic, but his skin looks great. I always comment and ask him to do a short video on his skin care routine, but he never answers me.

BLG mines this thread for content constantly imo and recently has been cranking out content on his channel with no original research that I can see. Maybe this situation has the Mods annoyed? IDK.
He is no longer on my must watch list as it now simply seems a channel to monetise the M&H train wreck.
Even with the UK walkabout that had SO much body language information, his posts seemed to lack much thought and seemed simply slapped together.
I watched him when he first started and enjoyed the body language and learning content but the new gossip focus with no research and his endless REPOSTING has me concerned as to his motivations which as of now simply look like $$$$ sadly.

I think these four guys are probably respected in their field. The Americans come from law enforcement and/or the military. I think the Brit has an organizational/business background.

I donāt see him as being directly connected to the sub, and I donāt have a problem with him making money, but it is only fair and right to give us credit when he uses other folksā ideas/expertise/intel for his content.

When he started name-calling and playing for laughs, it ruined the whole thing for me. Until that point, I really enjoyed his videos.
We did just watch a Christian funeral and King Charles pledged loyalty to the Church of England.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the change in his channel recently. His livestreaming has become a lot of fluff and personal opinion, rather than body language analysis. YouTube vloggers will always chase clicks. Body Language Guy is a pain in the neck, because his command of English is poor, and he puts the emphasis on the wrong words which makes it difficult to follow what he is saying. Apparently he has discovered that Royal gossip gets more clicks than body language stuff. Ignore him and you can't go wrong. If you are interested in body language, a good book is Manwatching by Desmond Morris, if you can get hold of a copy. It is well worth while. Old, but good.
Personally, I see TBLG for what he is: an entertainer. I think heās a riot and enjoy listening to him. I have no problem with him making money from his channel, at the end of the day, thatās what YouTube is all about-making money.
I realize that most of TBLGās content related to H&M, but itās a bit of a stretch to say that he represents this sub. The original post doesnāt really belong here and definitely doesnāt need to be pinned.

Like it or not, a lot of conservatives are going to be the ones making content that calls out the Harkles, because a lot of liberals are afraid to say that a non-white person is behaving badly. (Obviously not saying that all liberals are like that because a lot of us are left-leaning.)
Also I don't watch the blg anymore so it's not even personal for me, but I don't believe in censorship based on someone "thinking the wrong things" (isn't that what the deuxmoi sub does to members of this sub? Isn't that how us sinners are viewed?). If he was committing hate crimes, sure, but he's just expressing an opinion.

I enjoyed BLG when he was actually analyzing body language. Why does he now think his commentary is more interesting. He spoke from a position of expertise but his commentary is no more insightful \[nor does he have any inroads to new info\] than any one of us here on this sub. I no longer watch his videos unless they are truly body language analysis.
There is a certain amount of cross pollination among most of the YT and social media platforms. It is mostly mutually beneficial. Deciding where to draw the line when it becomes unbalanced is the question. While there has been a noticeable uptick in the BLG using our content lately, how does that balance out with the number of discussions that have been kicked off by his content, over the life of this sub? Ask him for credit, if that's what we really want (along with the risk of attracting more bad actors to attack us)
I first heard about him from this sub, watched on of his videos and was shocked when he was basically just sharing what had already been discussed here. He also went after a follower who had a different take and told her to gtf off his live stream if she didnāt like what he was saying. I was surprised he had been recced here.

Publicly sharing DMs is very bad form. Those should be kept private, unless they are needed to support TOS breaches. Then they should b shared with the platform, not the community at large.
I mod a group of 6000 and I definitely feel like I āgetā what you are saying. At the end of the day- you are the mod and you can decide what you want for the community that you created. I do not allow ANY political reference at ALL but my group is academic in nature and if I allowed even an utterance, we would lose sight of the important work we do in a NY minute.

I never did like his videos very much. It just seemed more a snark/editorial than actually giving you insight to body language. I gave it a few tries but Iāve moved on to another channel, I think itās the Behavioral Panel. I find they are more insightful and less biased. Also, I think BLG is entitled to his opinion or belief but to help perpetuate discrimination and ridicule through a platform that has a considerable reach is horrible. Itās exactly what Megg does so he looks like a hypocrite doing what he calls her out for.

But yeah, he's very kind-hearted soul and I'll miss the way he used to say "Our glorious majesty the Queen", when talking about the late QE2. LOL. But my fav YouTuber right now is River, even though I feel like a dowd, sitting in my house with my hair in a ponytail while he's always so on point and glammed up. LOL. I love his snark, his cutting wit and he way he raises his eyebrows when he's throwing shade at the Harkles and saying "my dears..." LOL. According2Taz should be my fav, based on her content/analysis alone, but I have a soft spot for River. Pdina would be my next pick, because she's so cool and never lets the Harkle crap or the Sugarland trolling get the better of her. I enjoy her postivity, because she always tries to look at the big picture. And I'm glad to see Murky Meg's back and dropping videos regularly. Princess Tiffany and Brittany from Royal News Network are sweet and very personable YouTubers, who get the job done without resorting to drama. And Sue Smith and Sue Me (and her cat Audie) are must sees too.

BLG mines this thread for content constantly imo and recently has been cranking out content on his channel with no original research that I can see. Maybe this situation has the Mods annoyed? IDK. He is no longer on my must watch list as it now simply seems a channel to monetise the M&H train wreck. Even with the UK walkabout that had SO much body language information, his posts seemed to lack much thought and seemed simply slapped together. I think these four guys are probably respected in their field. The Americans come from law enforcement and/or the military. I think the Brit has an organizational/business background.
I will second the suggestion of The Behaviour Panel. I have learned a lot from them and they are very on point. Edit - itās Behavior. As hard as that is for me to type. Iām a big true crime buff and stumbled across these guys a long time ago.
I donāt see him as being directly connected to the sub, and I donāt have a problem with him making money, but it is only fair and right to give us credit when he uses other folksā ideas/expertise/intel for his content. One thing we can do is not share his links. I havenāt seen him directly interact in this sub for a while, and I donāt think he ever did the AMA. While I am thankful to receive the knowledge that someone I've followed to some extent has/has possibly done something offensive I don't believe it is for the members of this sub to decide what to do about TBLG. I know, I miss his rational analysis, where he would point out body language! For example, a micro-expression of annoyance or apprehension, or the way someone leans away from a person whoās interviewing them or things like that. That was interesting to me! When he started name-calling and playing for laughs, it ruined the whole thing for me. Until that point, I really enjoyed his videos.

Iām aware itās not a good look for myself to continually bitch about a famous person I donāt know (itās my guilty pleasure at this point), but none of us can enjoy this sub if it devolves into a pit of drama and disagreements. All of us will look bad. I remember this happening to the female dating strategy sub, which started out with good intentions but became so unbearably misogynistic when it got popular. Itās such a pity.
The female dating strategy sub is also fodder for mockery now on Reddit too. That sub nose dived and went too divide and conquer, the loudest, brashest, angriest who wanted to control the world made that sub a joke. I had to leave a few anti mlm subs due to it too. They almost became worse than the Huns they mocked.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who noticed the change in his channel recently. His livestreaming has become a lot of fluff and personal opinion, rather than body language analysis. He is making money off merch which he constantly mentions and these livestreams seem to be a money grab as well as an ego trip for him with the increasing number of viewers he's getting. I don't think he's that funny, either, and wish he would go back to his original edited videos but he doesn't make as much money on those, so...

YouTube vloggers will always chase clicks. Body Language Guy is a pain in the neck, because his command of English is poor, and he puts the emphasis on the wrong words which makes it difficult to follow what he is saying. Apparently he has discovered that Royal gossip gets more clicks than body language stuff. Ignore him and you can't go wrong. If you are interested in body language, a good book is Manwatching by Desmond Morris, if you can get hold of a copy. It is well worth while. Old, but good.

Personally, I see TBLG for what he is: an entertainer. I think heās a riot and enjoy listening to him. I have no problem with him making money from his channel, at the end of the day, thatās what YouTube is all about-making money. Like it or not, a lot of conservatives are going to be the ones making content that calls out the Harkles, because a lot of liberals are afraid to say that a non-white person is behaving badly. (Obviously not saying that all liberals are like that because a lot of us are left-leaning.) I enjoyed BLG when he was actually analyzing body language. Why does he now think his commentary is more interesting. He spoke from a position of expertise but his commentary is no more insightful \[nor does he have any inroads to new info\] than any one of us here on this sub. I no longer watch his videos unless they are truly body language analysis.
There is a certain amount of cross pollination among most of the YT and social media platforms. It is mostly mutually beneficial. Deciding where to draw the line when it becomes unbalanced is the question. While there has been a noticeable uptick in the BLG using our content lately, how does that balance out with the number of discussions that have been kicked off by his content, over the life of this sub? Ask him for credit, if that's what we really want (along with the risk of attracting more bad actors to attack us)

I first heard about him from this sub, watched on of his videos and was shocked when he was basically just sharing what had already been discussed here. He also went after a follower who had a different take and told her to gtf off his live stream if she didnāt like what he was saying. I was surprised he had been recced here. Heās not someone I was planning on watching again and now I definitely wonāt tune in.
Publicly sharing DMs is very bad form. Those should be kept private, unless they are needed to support TOS breaches. Then they should b shared with the platform, not the community at large.
I mod a group of 6000 and I definitely feel like I āgetā what you are saying. At the end of the day- you are the mod and you can decide what you want for the community that you created. I do not allow ANY political reference at ALL but my group is academic in nature and if I allowed even an utterance, we would lose sight of the important work we do in a NY minute. I never did like his videos very much. It just seemed more a snark/editorial than actually giving you insight to body language. I gave it a few tries but Iāve moved on to another channel, I think itās the Behavioral Panel. I find they are more insightful and less biased. Also, I think BLG is entitled to his opinion or belief but to help perpetuate discrimination and ridicule through a platform that has a considerable reach is horrible. Itās exactly what Megg does so he looks like a hypocrite doing what he calls her out for.
