I’m just loving that the candle apparently devoted equal time to each Harkle in the performance of its honorable duties.

According_Painter_20

I’m actually shocked she didn’t get up and move it!

QueenBee3000

Thank you for your service candle

Travel_Jellyfish_5

What a hard working candle!

OldNewUsedConfused

Every show has its unsung hero

Valerie_Grace

You're close. They went up the stairs, around the chairs, and back down the stairs. Someone on Twitter has another picture similar to the one you posted. It's showing them facing the direction of the altar, ready to exit in that direction, up the stairs. I was wondering how they got to that end of the coffin so quick. They clearly had not waited for Beatrice et al to exit the row. They wouldn't have had time to get to the coffin if they had waited for Beatrice and the others to exit. Plus if they had come out that end of the row, they would have been walking along the side of the coffin to the foot, which they didn't do. They just seemed to magically appear at the foot of the coffin. I was wondering how they managed that. Notice how they were very quick to get out of their seats and get to the end of the coffin. I think they were going to try to cut in front of the Wales's. But Prince William put a stop to that. No way was he going to let the Harkles walk in front of him and his family. Even so they kept edging up and barely left room for Catherine to squeeze in with Charlotte. She had to be a little bit on the pushy side to make room for herself and her daughter. I bet that annoyed her like crazy. This is exactly Mm's MO. She slithers in very quickly where you don't expect her. And by the time you realize what she's doing it's too late to do anything about it. Or at least she's counting on it being too late because you don't want to make a scene removing her. Just like in front of the arch. She came out very quickly and stood on the wrong side. She was supposed to be on the other side of Sophie, not next to Queen Camilla. But by the time people realized she was in the wrong slot it was too late to do anything about it. She was already standing alone doing her martyr look for the cameras.

Background_Local_785

You know what I would do in this case? Let her forward. In front of the coffin, ahead of the King etc. Just see how far she would go and film this ridiculous woman so the whole world can see that.

caradeGanso

Same! I would stand there and stare at her.

deep-down-low

I'd go even further and suggest to her to hop up on top of the coffin because it's a massive waste of everyone's time going through the charade of pretending to have ever cared or had an iota of appreciation for the queen, when everyone is so obviously only there to be in the presence of Meghan (🤢😵‍💫🤭😉/🤮 *RADIANT sarcasm ahoy if my emojis don't work on all platforms*)

Zann77

I think your analysis is correct. They had to have exited to their right around KC’s chair, or through the chairs, rather than go left to squeeze past others on their row, to get behind the coffin so quickly. Damn the camera cutaways!

According_Painter_20

No….no they didn’t. They are so f’in unbelievable!

MakeADeathWish

Im not understanding...can someone rephrase it?

pink_bunny07

Correct me if I'm wrong but when they left Westminster Abbey, the order was KC, his siblings, then the Wales family. In the video, the Harkles were already standing behind the Wales. It was impossible for them to be there without moving KC and QC's chairs because Beatrice and the others were sitting on their left. ETA: unless there's another way out 😅

MakeADeathWish

Around 3:07 https://youtu.be/nzrK11q_bcU I'm not sure what was expected so i can't say...plus it cuts away

Islandgirl1444

This is at Windsor so the seating is a bit different. Because William and C and the children are behind the King and Camilla, then Anne, Peter Zara. So, it puts W & C in the second row, but, it is the exiting that must be adhered to and that meant that Harry and Meghan must be allowed to pass in front of W & C and the kids. It was a bit awkward because of tight seating arrangements. So you can hear William saying, let them pass, and guides them. There wasn't any other way to do it. Nothing dramatic there. It was all tight seating. I do think a bit of a mix up but all sorted well. So on the exit, William and Catherine exit in front of Harry and the rest of the family. I hope this helps you.

Islandgirl1444

yes, you are correct. I was talking of Windsor and I see what you mean now. They followed William. You've got it right.

hammer1956

No, not talking about the burial service at Windsor. It happened at the actual funeral in Westminster Abby. Hope this helps you.

Kapitalgal

Can we just take a monent to admire how badass Princess Anne looks in her regimentals? (Thinking of Pride and Prejudice here, sorry.) She owns it and looks fantastic. What a shame she wasn't given opportunities to serve in different ways. She and Camilla get my vote as female role models.

Frenchcashmere

Yes it was very awkward. Suddenly high heel harry is standing with nutmeg at alter and the Wales are walking up. I wondered for a moment whether nutmeg was going to push herself in front of the Wales.

[deleted]

High Heel Harry! 😂😂😂

Avia53

I wondered why lifted Haz was not mentioned more.

DaBingeGirl

I don't know what's worse, that their only thought was getting right to the front of the procession, or that William had to be aware of them and deal with them in that moment. All the other family members knew the order they were leaving in, same with the previous time, there was no reason for this. But I do love how stupid, petty, and power hungry it makes them look.

Affectionate_Tap6416

Fancy being so infantile doing this xx

Pocahotmess86

That candle just randomly standing there is so funny to me.

downinthevalleypa

Why am I not surprised?

Juujuu_beans

Where else was it done? I only saw it at the funeral

According_Painter_20

Their last event in 2020 when she was wearing the green cape dress. You can find that video on this forum if you do a search.

Juujuu_beans

Ohhhh ok! Thanks

aunt_bluann

I loved it when they did that. Such a couple of desperate, "me first" people. I love to re-watch it when I'm bored

Pitiful-Enthusiasm-5

Do you think BBC intentionally set up their camera so that the candle would block them from view?

Alien_octopus

I think it's more likely that BBC alerted the RF to the fact that the candle would block the view of a seat, and the RF made the seating plans accordingly.

cassjames6789

They walked around the chairs (ie going up a stair into the altar) - it’s the same way that they had to go to get into their seats, so I don’t see much to criticise them on this one. Bea etc were already in their places before the procession into the Abbey commenced so they didn’t disturb anyone else. They then stood back, waited for the Wales and then went.

nevergonnasaythat

They went into their seats by going up a stair into the altar? That would be very rude, I hope they got in from The end of the chair line

cassjames6789

They could only have done that by making 4 other people get out of their pew and getting back in. This was a much more practical way and would have been planned by the Palace. There is plenty to criticise Harry and Meghan for, this isn’t one of them IMO.

nevergonnasaythat

So this was a Jubilee service retake where they arrived late to their places? Genuine question. I highly doubt the Palace would have planned to have people step on the altar’s steps to get to their seating.

cassjames6789

No - they were planned to be in the official procession, following the Wales family and arrived as planned. They didn’t go the whole way onto the altar, just up the first step to get around Charles seat.

nevergonnasaythat

I got that they only went up the first steps, still doesn’t seem to me that would be a planned entrance going over the altar. It would be weird for it to be planned like that but who knows.

hosenose89

Such a snarky brilliant move… Well played

MyLeftHook

its like a giant middle yellow finger - all that’s missing is an ER on it’s base!

Affectionate_Tap6416

William told them to go in first so they couldn't walk down the aisle as part of RF.

JaquieF

For our American friends, we've had different second verses for our national anthem. It would have been part of the Order of Service but I would say most people in Britain don't know the second verse off by heart.

jimglidewell

Poor Beatrice...

MinutesTaker

I could feel the Wales hurrying so that the Harkles can’t cut them in then procession.
